Its possible but it would be time consuming, not worth it, and you would get 0 experience and the drops wouldnt be worth the time it would take. Your better off going with Scarlet Monestary groups.
Only exp you might get is from Bazil Thredd himself and I am not sure on that one all the way. I can't remember what his level is.
Only reason to go into this dungeon, which I find boring BTW, is to get the quests done. Especially the Ring of Wrynn quest.
Get a lvl 60 to go with you for maximum quickness.
With a level 60 mage I find stockades is a nice quick way to make a little extra coin. I can run it quickly and usually make a couple of gold off the mobs. And never understestimate the occasional rare drops that are in there such as the Twisted Chanter's Staff and a pair of blue caster shoulders that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. I sold those shoulders a few weeks back for 30g. Not only is the instance easy for high levels, but it's right there in Stormwind.
It isn't worth doing, people only go there for quests and sometimes farming wool.
There are only 3 Rare drops and the respawn time is fast, it is located in Stormwind and requires level 15 (i think) to enter.
I also suggest Shadowfang Keep instead.
I farm the stockade chests for twink items often, and these are some things I've found out:
-There are always 2 chests in the instance, no more no less.
-There is one chest per wing, west and east.
-There is never a chest in the starting corridor.
-The chests are randomly locked or not locked.
You have to be at least level 15 before it will let you in The Stockade
A nice blue 1h mace dropped for me off of the defias guy right when u enter the instance
Very good for Wool Cloth, farmed on my mage, after 3 full clears i had 153 Wool Cloth, took no more than 30 mins at 70
the new update has made the loot a lot better one run scored me about 10 greens and 2 blues much better htne runs used to score me :)
I disagree with the claims that this is a great place for wool cloth, I have found that the deadmines are much better. alot of the mobs there are non-elite miners yet they drop instance level stuff. 4-5 pieces of wool a time. Clearing the instance all the way to the cannon (where you enter the big "Goonies" cave) but then exiting and resetting, I was able to get around 80 wool cloth. The time it takes to do this varies per class of course but I found this a hell of alot easier to do with my 62 shadowpriest than the stockades. Food for thought! ;)
i actually really like Stocks, i know, i'm a freak.
But the two times that i've been in it, i've gotten 3 blue drops and 24 greens.
However the only reason i'm farming it is for the greens for disenchanting.
And the wool cloth.
it is possible to 2 man this. a lvl 23 rogue and me (lvl 24 retired twink hunter) did it today. very slow but easy. had to be careful on pulls. but if we didnt have more then 2 guys we did ok. Very Good Experience while rested. about 600 per kill for me.
Once i was doing this with my lvl 50 paladin,
dropped. I dont know from which mob though, because i was AoE pulling them
Was there somebody from horde with low-level? How did you get there?
i like the stocks cuz the bosses r not much more powerful than the others plus its so small that u won't get lost inside which is conveniant, anyway the smallest instance i ever ran (the only instances i went to were the stocks, blackrock mountian, deadmines wailing caverns, and gnomeregan.
i clear this on my 70 rogue in about 5 min.s and i get a good twink BOE every other run so i made it part of my daily runs and i get about 2 a day each selling for about 40 g to up to 140g depends on the BOE. for those who know there twink items i got keller's gridle, razor sum thing 18 axe for shaman twinks, magefist gloves, mindthrust bracers, feet of the lynx, and many many more plus mutiple's of the previous listed twink items. good money should farm.
this dungeon has good drops(if the drop) but sadly their drop rate is rare
Great for leveling from 20~ to anything up to 28, possibly 30 (would need approving, only just started). Providing you have a level 70 mage friend, lucky for me i'm owed a favour, it is possible to level extremely quickly here. Note that until you are 22 the mobs are "red" and you get less exp than when they are "orange": hey presto you get about 1/4 of a level each time. Thats at least one level every hour (5 per hour) and you can also nip to DM after for a cheeky bonus.
Each mob will run when their health goes under 20% witch can lead to more aggro. Only sometimes a blue will drop from a boss. You must be atleast level 15 to enter Stockades, any level over has access. This dungeon can only be reseted around about 4 times, you can enter again later on. There are lots of quests you can do at Stockades, for example at Darkshire you can accept a 'wanted' quest and at Lakeshire you can accept a 'wanted' quest too. You can accept a trial of quests in Deadmines by looting Edwin Vancleef's body and looting 'Unsent Letter'. There is also a quest you can accept in Stockades where you will need to kill 15 of each mobs.
Can someone tell me if there is any possible way to get in the stockades if your horde?
inside Stormwind City.
Remember to set dungeon difficulty to normal. ;)
it is also a easy way to make money by running lvl 20s through it they lvl up in a heart beat
The Stockade needs some item buffs, or new blue drops, badly. Horde is heavily favored in access to dungeons with good gear, and Alliance gets... The Stockade?
Other then the achevment its worthless for a horde member to run it at all but its fun trying to get to the dang
The Zone in for the Stockade is the Tower, just north of the Mage Quarter in Stormwind, for those that dont have Coordinates....
Another thing that drops here but has a very low rate is
The sentry cloak is very good and if you don't really wanna use it for you character, it's worth quite a bit on the AH. I recently got one and sold it for almost 200g. 189g to be exact.
While running stockades today a Twisted Chanter's Staff (Lv 19 boe) dropped off a large solid chest.
The run before that i got Keller's Girdle.(Lv 18 boe).
Lv 71 priest Sancrosanct. Just started running instances solo...
Well, at least us Horde are not missing anything. (Besides a mountains worth of wool.)
For the Horde players who want to do stocks to get the achievement, here is how to do it.
1. Do not go through the front gait.
2. Go around up the backside (by Stormwind Harbor)
3. Remember to strip naked
4. Mount in a safe place ( i found the most southerly place you can run up is best)
5. Run up out of the Harbor avoid mobs. (if your 80 they are nothing, just 67 elites)
6. Avoid players
7. Run through the door if your mount will fit
I was attacked by an 80 Pally when i did this and still lived. If you manage to not dismount you have succeeded. Overall i thought it was quite easy and was expecting more deaths. Also i didn't do this at some ungodly hour so it can be done at normal waking hours.
hope this helps
If you make a DK, and wanna be a tailor for a reason I don't really know, this is THE place to farm. Linen cloth, wool cloth and silk cloth drops here, And I've heard, that this is the best place to farm, if you want twink items to dropd, except shadowfang.
Ok, A Horde's Guide to Stockades(or Greeting's from Stormwind)
After getting a lot of "How'd you do that" from Guildies and Puggerr's when they saw my achievment, i decided to write out how I got into the Stocks.
First head to The Jansen Stead in Westfall, from there head into the water and start swimming north keeping to the shoreline. After 10-20 mins of swimming you'll be near Stormwind Harbor; near the first dock is a gentle slope of grass. Head up on this and mount up, you'll be in Stormwind now from here head up the ramps into the city itself head around the Park's walkway, from there take the south bridge to the Mage Quarter, from there just run into the Stock's and get your achievment.
The looking for group function allows you to select the stockades up to level 29. At level 30 you can no longer select the stockades, which I find interesting (and lame) considering that it's listed as a dungeon for levels 24-32.
The obvious alternative way for a Hordie (lvl80 Tauren hunter, in this case) getting into the harbour is to take a boat. I used the one from Auberdine, since the mobs there are relatively low-level. There was a bit of a wait at the Kalimdor end, but I avoided any tedious swimming and rode through the city on
here. Aspect of the Beast is also a good idea if you're a hunter.
Agreed that this is an excellent place to farm wool. I went in with zero and I came out with 78 after one run.
(edited for typo)
Good guide but i must add that instead of swimming for 10 mins, get a water walking elixir, be careful not to dmg yourself and run with your mount over the sea to the harbor, just to save you a few mins..
It's really a shame, I love the idea od this instance, the setting, and the bosses...but the drops suck so much that there isn't even a point other than the quests
I've found through lots of farming of Stockades that 36 open bag slots is enough to loot everything in the entire instance (including the usual chest).
this is a great instance to power lvl in but the worse for drops so go for the exp and go some where else for drops such as deadmines or VC
Just ran my daughter's low level Tauren Hunter thru for the first time (only my 2nd even being here) and the rare spawn, Bruegal Ironknuckle, was indeed there. He dropped the Prison Shank. Did it mostly for the achievement, though.
Why is they're a Plague Zombie on the npc list?
Great place along with Deadmines for farming wool
I really don't see how the guards in the entrance are so worried. If they can keep the criminals in the instance, they'll soon starve and then you can herd them into the cells again.
The Stockades is rather nice to pick up some twink items. I don't run it much, but I have picked up a Searing Blade, a Band of Purification, a Sentry Cloak, and also Feet of the Lynx.
i just ran this guy through...i got 10g :D
i always farm this instance for Healing potions, Silk cloth, and random BoE drops. Great place, good drops, easy runs.
as a 64 hunter i pulled the hole place just with my pet
can horde get into this instance?
stockades is an instance that's really only good for quests (i.e. xp and rep). if you need an instance to get money and drops, try scarlet monastery. i dont think it's worth horde risking their lives to get into. your not missing out on anything if you're wondering.
Feet of the lynx dropped yay
26 human rogue
First of all,
There are 3 BLUE drops in Stockades.
These drop off the
rare spawn, Bruegal Ironknuckle(dwarf)

Was too lazy to get you guys the links, sorry :P
Also: There are a LOT of World Drop BoE Blues that can drop here. mainly 10-19 stuff though, like Keller's Girdle and Ring of Protection(or something like that ;D)
hope this helped
I have a level 1 troll hunter and i made it to stocks (not entered) with 1,352 deaths all the way there
Aside from the drops the rare dwarf spawn gives, there are other things no one has mentioned yet.
For starters, the famous Skeletal Club (19 twink 1h mace) is a random drop here. I can say this for a fact as I've gotten it before (soloed on a 44 rogue).
Aside from that, there are a lot of really nice green drops. I have personally always had really good experiences doing Stocks, especially now that I can solo it and get all the drops.
the right location of meeting stone is 43,59. It's near mage quarter but not inside, by the canal
I went in here to solo it as a 50 lock... horde. I ended up dying only having to res once or twice on the way there, I went with a group of rogues that were causing havoc.
Instance is very small, boring, THE BOSSES DROP NO LOOT, but it does seem to be a very good place to farm wool... went from wool bandages to silk in an hour in there.
at about 4 in the morning, my friend(lvl 70 undead rogue) and I(lvl 70 undead mage) decided to see how difficult it would be to get to stocks... wasnt that hard lol, gaurds were pushovers, ran into like 3 lvl 60+'s and for sum odd reason, there were like 20 lvl 15-30's sorta in a big ass group dancing near the stocks... we prolly interupted a videoor sum kind of wow worshipping dancing orgy festival :P
anyway, go early in the morning and u have a chance :D
is there any way you can enter the vault of stormwind?
Just did this with my brother, horde lvl 70.
Died once, ressed on a safe spot, mounted and entered the stockade. 2 minutes later we had our achievement done. Was kinda funny, a lot of ally when we did it. lvl 75 guards are a pain in the ass tho
lvl 70 ran through with a guildie...had a way of getting into Stormwind undetected as a warrior ;) ill let you wrap your minds around that...nice achievement win
i am doing this as a lvl 70 and now that the harbour is out i swam from westfall and ran through the harbour, its easy until u encounter the lvl 75s bring defias 0ppl in
The instance is ideal for leveling up or getting green gear/quest experience. Do not do stormwind stockade solely for the rare drops... they are from RARE monsters that are RARELY seen
The stockade is located at 51.2,67.6
Stockades (1 run through) gives approx.
-50 wool cloth,
-26 linen cloth,
-5 silk cloth,
-6 green items,
-2 white items,
-3 gold (looted and grey items combined)
Lol iv been in a stockades run where a Sentry cloak drops and feet fo the lynx i got both i was soooo happy
i was running a group of 4 levels lvl 16-19 people on my lvl 80 dk so i used em for my twink and sentry cloak i sodl cuz i already got 1 from forman rigger in barrens
I just did this as a lvl 80 Shammy np. I recommend taking off amour and running through SW naked so u dont have a huge repair bill. I only died once but man its a looong way back from the graveyard. I just did it for the achievement and dont reccommend it for loot, it sux! =P
Little tip. I got the acheivment and also fished in stormwind and orgimmar for another acheivment while i was there.
I logged in on my ally mage and planned my route lol then run through with my dk and jumped into water and swam most of the way then run in. Didnt die once and i got plenty of wool :)
im just wondering
i know a lot of horde farm this for tailoring w/ wool
but i was wondering where the nearest "horde friendly" vendor is to vendor grey/green loot.
i defidentally know theres one in the town by VC, but idk if theres a vendor closer....
I'm an 80 pally, trying for Classic Dungeonmaster and Loremaster achievements, so I ended up running Stockades solo.
A run through - killing most, but not everyone - took about 20 minutes.
9 white food items
1 healing potion
1 lesser mana potion
a couple of gold, total
FYI for Loremaster: after completing the Bazil Thredd quest , a non-dungeon questline opens up that adds another 9 quests.
Tried yesterday with my lv 65 HORDE Paladin and i got it! You will die approximatively 2-3 times depending on how much players and guards sees you... (inside the city you'll be automatically flagged for PVP). Then walk each time for 5 minutes from the border of Elwynn Forest to Stormwind.. It will take 15 minutes to get in the Stockade. The instance requires no key, and takes 5 minutes if you go to the right, and don't kill everyone. Hope was helpful.
Just finished a Stockade run, but couldn't complete three quests because the related mobs were nowhere to be found. The quests are:
. Anyone else can confirm this bug?
CURRENT ENTRANCE: As of 2020, the meeting stone and entrance is at 53.25, 70.59. It's on the anal at the north-eastern corner of the Mage Quarter.
