This is the starting zone for both the Dwarves and Gnomish races. Characters start in Coldridge Valley.
Ironforge, the capital city for Dwarves and Gnomes, is located in the northern-central part of this zone.

Dun Morogh Desciption/Lore
The jagged, snowy peaks of Dun Morogh provide the Ironforge Dwarves with a limitless supply of ore and stone for their ambitious engineering endeavors. From the city of Ironforge, dug deep into the mountains, to Anvilmar in the Coldridge Valley, the marvels of Dwarven ingenuity mark the land. Not all is at peace in Dun Morogh, however. The Dwarves

Dun Morogh is a snowy area surrounded by mountains. The Dwarves happily inhabited Dun Morogh years ago, mining the days away. They had no care for the Gnomes that dwelled within Gnomeregan, nor did they have any conflict. That was, until, Gnomeregan was infected with disease and infiltrated by Troggs, and the Gnome king was betrayed. The Gnomes found themselves driven out of their own home land. They joined the alliance and found a new home with the dwarves. Sadly, all the Gnomes who attempted to stay and fight for Gnomeregan were slain or infected with disease. Meanwhile, outside Gnomeregan, the Frostmane Trolls are making themselves at home within the glaciers and atop the frozen lakes of Dun Morogh. The Gol'Bolar Quarry miners dug into the home of a Trogg colony. Now they struggle to fight back the Troggs, but several have escaped and are pestering Anvilmar. Your duty as a new Dwarf or Gnome recruit: Attempt to fend back the angry Troggs, and slay several of the Trolls before a mass attack is executed! Points of interest: Coldridge Valley, where you start your journey as a Dwarf or Gnome. Kharanos, where you can further protect Dun Morogh. Brewnall Village, where you can help fight back the ferocious beasts that constantly siege it. Gol'Bolar Quarry, where you can attempt to send the Troggs back into their home. Gnomeregan, the ruined city of the Gnomes where you can attempt to end it's irradication (level 25-35 recommended). And finally, Ironforge, the enormous city the Dwarves built inside of a mountain!

If for some reason you wish to take the long swim around and you swim across the zone (from the sea) from Westfall to Wetlands or vice versa you will end up passing through this zone from a sea point of view. Something very interesting when you reach Dun Morogh and close to Wetlands a lot of huge trees are on the side, a few cut off. There however is no snow on the side of the moutains facing the sea.

Dwarves and gnomes have been part of the Alliance for quite some time. These industrious folk have also supported each other, and that shows in the both races live in close proximity without savaging each other every few years. Yet, there are clear differences between these two cultures. The dwarves are strong, courageous, and proud. They produce blades, guns, armor, and great buildings of stone. Gnomes are more inquisitive, building gadgets that are not always of immediate use or even known purpose. Together, the two races make Dun Morogh a land of many trades.

There are several ways to get to Dun Morogh and Ironforge for horde.
- You can run from Badlands or from Arathi to Loch Modan and use one of the tunnels to Dun Morogh. Tunnels coords in Loch Modan are 18,16 20,63.
- You can use train from another alliance city - Stormwind. Of course, its dangerous enough even if you have Prowl or stealth. But its really usefull when youre in big horde raid for killing Alliance bosses.
- And finally you can use goblin teleporter in Booty Bay, that will teleport you to Gnomeregan. You need to get quest

Like many of you, managed to make up to that area and explore around a bit. One of the more interesting things I found was a cave with 3 Frostmane Trolls outside (one of them was mounted on a wolf). The cave isn't very deep and is completely empty. What's interesting about it though, is the fact that upon entering it, all your chat channels are changed to Silithus, on the other continent!
Location of the cave is 53,22 on the Dun Morogh map.
If you don't have coordinates, the location on the map is directly North of the entrance to IF that you see on the map, and directly East of the end of the righthand branch of the airstrip. When you reach that general area, you'll see what looks like a path and some sort of clearing at one end, that's the cave I'm talking about. It's called "Ortell's Hideout."
Also, remember the above comment about someone apparently ending up in Alterac Valley, I decided to remove my armor and let the Frostbane Trolls kill me while I stood inside the cave (and thus, in Silithus).
When I died, I saw the loading screen for Kalimdor, and sure enough, ended up in a place called Valor's Rest.
Pretty neat, eh?

It looks to steep at first but just jump up the first bit then go round the mountains till you see the snow peaked mountains where you will head out on the border between dun morogh and wetlands and you will come in from abovethe secret area. I done it on a human and my friend done it as a human too, good luck, if you have trouble contact me at "joshau-k@hotmail.com"

Starting out in Coldridge Valley
You'll start your career facing a dwarf named Sten Stoutarm, and he's offered you a pair of gloves in return for some wolf meat (Dwarven Outfitters). This one's fast and easy, as well as being a great way to become acquainted with your character's combat skills, so turn around and take out some wolves, any wolves will do. When you've met Sten's quota, head back to him to complete the quest, and accept two more: Coldridge Valley Mail Delivery and Glyphic Memorandum.
Take care of "Glyphic Memorandum" first, it's just a way to introduce you to your class trainer inside Anvilmar (it's a good idea to forego the fancy equipment you can buy here, and buy just about every spell you can, by the way). Look for the yellow blip on your minimap. Next, follow the road west-southwest until you come to Talin Keeneye's encampment. Turns out the mail delivery isnt' for him, but he points you in the right direction, and gives you a quest called The Boar Hunter to kill a dozen or so boars. This is easy enough, there's bunches in the area, so complete this one, do the turn in, and head back to Anvilmar to sell off your inventory. While you're in the Anvilmar area, grab A New Threat from Balir Frosthammer - it's easy to kill off a few requisite troggs when you're in transit.
You should now be of appropriate level to get A Refuge's Quandry from Felix Whindlebolt in Anvilmar. This is a good quest to do while you chip away at Frostmane Troll Whelps in The Troll Cave, a quest you'll get from Grelin when you deliver his mail. Head west across the frozen lake, and you'll encounter one of three troll camps (one of Felix's 3 lost items can be found at each troll camp). Note that these trolls will attack you if you get close enough, they're "aggro" in MMO parlance. So make sure you engage each mob singularly, and pull each mob to a safe location to fight (to avoid roaming aggro mobs). Fight your way in, then double click on Felix's items to recover them. Work your way southeast from camp to camp until you recover all 3 items, and by the time you're finished, you should have "The Troll Cave" completed as well. Speak again to Grelin, and he'll offer you Stolen Journal. We'll get to that in a moment, but first: head back to Anvilmar to sell and train (perhaps you can finish off "A New Threat" on the way, too!).
If you're level 5, you should be able to solo any mob in the troll cave (as long as you fight them singly) and recover Grelin's journal from Grik'nir the Cold. You'll find him in the eastern, more open part of the cave. Go slow and kill each mob as you come to it; you'll be fine. When the journal's yours, head back to Grelin. He has one last Coldridge Valley quest for you called Senir's Observations . Tie up your loose ends in Coldridge, because you won't be back. On your way out, grab the Supplies to Tannock quest from Hands Springsprocket, and fight your way through Coldridge Pass. These troggs shouldn't present a challenge after what you've done, just fight them one at a time (as always!).
Kharanos, Steelgrill Depot, and Brewnall Village / Gnomeregan area
It's time to fill up that quest journal a little. Head northeast to Kharanos (it's a bit of a journey, compared to travelling around cozy little Coldridge). Here, track down the following quests in Kharanos: Beer Basted Boar Ribs , Tools for Steelgrill, and The Grizzled Den. Head due west about 50 gnome paces to Steelgrill's Depot, where you'll drop off the Tools for Steelgrill, and can pick up Ammo for Rumbleshot and Stocking Jetsteam. Kill any boars and bears you come across as you travel for "Jetsteam" and "Boar Ribs"; note that the other component for "Boar Ribs" can be bought in the brewry where you receive the quest. The remaining two quests take you southeast once again towards the Grizzled Cave (see map).
The wendigos that inhabit the cave make for profitable hunting, but if you're interested in the skinning / leatherworking or mining professions, you might want to take a quick trip to Ironforge's central "Great Forge" area to pick up these professions before you head in. Generally speaking, the sooner you shell out the pittance to get started in a profession, the better- backtracking through newbie areas to build skill isn't much fun. Anyway, you can wrap up all your quests by hunting in the Grizzled Cave area with a little patience - just watch for aggrolicious snow leopards! When you're finished, there's one quick quest to wrapup. On the map, you'll see two caves to the northeast; head toward the western one. Tundra MacGrann's Stolen Stash of dried meats was stolen by a huge wendigo called Icebeard, who happens to live in the eastern cave. You can either fight Icebeard (not recommended if you're solo), or just wait till he roams around and run in to retrieve the goods and return them to MacGrann.
Note that the ammo crate for the "Ammo for Rumbleshot" quest is found near the Grizzled Cave (44,56 for those of you with CTMod or other similar addons) - hand off the ammo to Rumbleshot along the road to the south of Kharanos (he stands near the mortar team guys). Head back up to Kharanos to wrap up these quests and get your next assignments.
Ask around town and you'll get Evershine, Operation Recombobulation (this is found in the gnomish house on the north end of town), and Frostmane Hold. All three drive you towards Brewnall Village in western Dun Morogh, where you'll pick up the part 2 of Evershine: A Favor for Evershine, Bitter Rivals, and The Perfect Stout. Note that these quests are fairly challenging, you might want to find a partner to work through them. Nevertheless, "Evershine" and "Recombobulation" find ample targets to the west-northwest of Brewnall Village, and shimmerweed for "Perfect Stout" is found atop Shimmer Ridge to the east. When you're finished, you should be well into level 8 or maybe even 9, and it's time to had back towards Kharanos to do the turn-ins and the "Bitter Rivals" quest. One last trip to Brewnall to finish up the Bitter Rivals quest.
Upon completing "Frostmane Hold", Senir Whitebeard gives you The Reports, which takes you, at long last, into Ironforge proper. A few notes on Ironforge - it's fun to explore, and the Auction House has a lot of good equipment, but the standard advice is this: don't spend too much money in the AH until at least level 20 or so. Reason being, you'll outgrow pre-20 stuff very quickly, and you just don't need it. Once you've had your fill of the capital city, it's time to start working your way towards Loch Modan and the rest of the game.
If you've come this far, you might as well check out the few remaining quests in Dun Morogh. Protecting the Herd is found at Amberstill Ranch, and the denizens there want you to kill a monster to the north by the name of Vagash. Two quests are found at Gol'Bolar Quarry (a good place for beginning miners, by the way): The Public Servant and Those Blasted Troggs, both are relatively short kill tasks inside the quarry. Finally, Captain Hammerfoot at North Gate Outpost lost track of his comrade Mori in The Lost Pilot. Your tasked to find out what's become of him, which subsequently leads to a quest to kill Mangeclaw, an ice claw bear that roams slightly to the south.

There is a MUCH simpler way than what everyone here has described so far. Much simpler.
1) From IF, go to the north gate and pass through...
2) Go through the 2nd tunnel into the Loch.
3) Immediately after leaving tunnel, turn left (Before fence starts) and go behind the tree near beginning of mountain.
There is a path that leads up from there, you can almost walk the entire way, yet you may have to jump.
You will have to find the correct path, but there are only 3 choices in the immediate area, and you want the left most path. Keep following the only way you can walk and you will come to a small drop that leads to a snowy area... try and head NW as much as possible. Eventually, you will come to a snow field, it's huge... keep following it towards the airport and then vear towards the right (north west) and go around the mountains and there you are.
The nicest thing about the airport other than finding new areas is how you can sit there for hours on end by yourself and wack on the frostmane trolls... you can get so much loot including linen cloth. If you are a hunter, stand near the spawn point (Far south and then west) and use multi shot when a group spawns. I am level 26 and it kills at least one, leaving the other 2 spawns with virtually no health. I have killed upwards of 500+ trolls in less than 2 hours. EZ!

The landing space, is the Burning Crusade's Gnome flying mount vendor.
There tech-wizzes, so why not give them little airplanes?
When BC comes out, you'll be able to get up there through a little walkway in the front of IF, leading to the vendors.
eh?

All I know is I like this game but the BS and bad management are really starting to get on my nerves.

Thats the IF Airstrip. Get there, and you can easily get to the lake.
Oh and for the farm part, you don't need a slowfall potion or anything. I got down by facing the waterfall, then tapping backward until I started to fall. Then I just held forward while I fell. My character stopped moving for a split second every now and then, which resulted in little life lost when he hit the ground. I had Aspect of the Cheetah on, so I am not sure if it works without it.
The lake has a continuous spawn of Frostmane trolls being killed by guards. Good place to farm linen or stuff. Especially if you're a level 9ish (thats what level they are)
It also has a dancing dwarf with a pet trainer clapping and a Holout warrior clapping.

Anvilmar is a relatively quiet outpost/forge in the Coldridge Valley area. Dwarves and Gnomes start their adventures here, and will most likely be here until around level 5 or so, so they should get to know their first home base.
The front room in Anvilmar is a large forge. Surrounding the forge are trainers for physical classes, while the more magic-oriented classes are in the back room, a cozy bar. There are also general-purpose and weapon/armor vendors in Anvilmar.
Outside Anvilmar is a rough path leading to a small dirt plaza with several NPCs gathered around. Among these NPCs are vendors and trainers, so take note of them.
Quest-giving NPCs can be found both in the interior of Anvilmar or in the dirt plaza downhill and to the east of it.

Brewnall Village is home to some hardy beer brewers keen on collecting ingredients in the dangerous western region of Dun Morogh. The light armor merchant here is useful when you need to repair your equipment or unload loot you've collected from the various enemy encampments nearby. Some quests start here, too. It's barely even a village, but it will suit your needs fine.

Dun Morogh's central town, Kharanos houses a large inn/pub/brewery and a smaller forge across the path, plus various stalls and vendors littered in the surrounding areas.
The inn is filled with rowdy characters and trainers, and it's also a place where many quests pop up, so check those out. The forge across the way offers weapons and armor. There are general supply vendors at the stall near the south exit of the town, and on a small hill near the inn, you can find trainers for the more arcane classes in the game.
Getting to the town from the starting area for Dwarves and Gnomes, Coldridge Valley, is as simply as following the dirt road from the gates of Coldridge Pass to Kharanos. Stick to the paths if you're underleveled, but if you're at least level 5, you can take on the Crag Boars, Young Black Bears, and Juvenile Leopards that roam the forest near the paths. Just don't wander too far.

This is a recommended zone to 'AFK' or 'BRB' in. There are guards surrounding the areas that will help you defend yourself from a train of mobs. You can also make the inns your place, always someone there to help assist you also.
Find out for yourself! But beware that if you are not on the paths, random creatures may attack you.

The Gol'Bolar Quarry used to be Ironforge's main supplier of precious ore, but the miners have been driven out by the insipid Rockjaws. The hill overlooking the quarry has a small camp filled with displaced miners. In here, you'll find a weapon vendor, as well as a cooking trainer. Several important quests are given at the camp, too.
As you descend into the quarry, you immediately start to run into large concentrations of Rockjaw Skullthumpers which are dangerous to those not yet at level 8 or 9. Keep in mind this is just the outside portion. If you manage to brawl your way through the killing fields, you'll find that the quarry's mine is populated with Rockjaw Bonesnappers and Ambushers, and are lethal foes all the way up to level 11 and 12. The mine twists and turns and folds in on itself, making travel difficult, as tiny indentations in the wall you didn't see can house a couple of Rockjaws, and when they rush at you while you engage a third Rockjaw, you can pretty much pack up your bags and run out of the mine.

Located within a safe walking distance from Kharanos, the depot mostly serves as a host to a rather surprising amount of quests. Off to the side of Steelgrill's humble house is another hut which houses trainers for blacksmithing and mining, so if you're interested in those professions, give them a buzz. Also, Gnomes can buy their mounts at the depot.
The woods surrounding the depot are filled with boars and Snow Tracker Wolves, but those are dispatched with ease at level 7 and above.

At the remote southeastern corner of Dun Morogh lies Helm's Bed Lake. This lonely area is populated by scattered Rockjaw Bonesnappers and Ambushers, which should be dealt with at level 10 or higher, and the occasional Rockjaw Backbreaker, which can give a level 12 character a run for their money, so keep your eyes peeled for those constant threats. Some scarred crag boars, nonaggressive and level 10-ish material, also pace around here. Other than that and the small fishable area at the center of the lake, there's not much here.
For those interested in that airport/lake area surrounded by mountains, the only thing I can tell you is to be try to climb the hills and slopes north of the part of the road leading from Gol'Bolar Quarry and Helm's Bed Lake. You'll eventually find a path. From there, stick to the mountaintops and get some gorgeous and lonely views near Ironforge, then drop to the airport/lake area. The airport has NPCs running about, included mounted Ironforge Guards. The Engineer Gnomes here talk about a race, which I guess occurs around the circular dirt road there, but that is not active at the moment. If you go down to the large frozen lake, you'll actually find three gnomes dancing in the middle of it for no reason at all. One is even a working Pet Trainer! As you head south over the lake's surface, waves of trolls will begin pouring out onto the lake. The NPCs here will fight them, but if you get in the middle of the fight, you will be attacked. The trolls range from level 8 to around 11, and even gave me trouble at level 15, as the waves are so constant that I got surrounded by six or seven attacking trolls! Other than that dangerous experience, exploring the airstrip and lake areas is an enjoyable experience.

I made it from Ironforge to the airport in about five minutes, straight run, only one tricky slope to get by which took 1 minute once, 5 minutes another time. Seems a lot shorter than the videos I've seen of people going the other route?
The path starts at about 61,43. Just head upwards until you hit a snowy slope that you can't climb, then go west a bit until you find another, very similar slope, which *is* climbable with a bit of effort!
Pics etc here if interested:

Frostmane Hold is the main camp for those ugly Frostmane trolls that are trying to take back Dun Morogh. It's located close to Brewnall Village, so if you're going to be adventuring in the Hold for a while, remember you can sell your cheap loot, though some green (uncommon) items tend to drop from the trolls here, so save those for auctioning.
I would think it wise if you held off from doing anything here until at least level 9, though 10 would be more comfortable. Firstly, there is a huge enemy campground filled with level 9 and 10 trolls in front of the entrance to the hold itself, and even a level 15 character would be hard-pressed to deal with the entire kumbaya circle they've formed around the campfire. So be sneaky, and don't stir up the hive.
Inside the hold, it gets slightly more manageable. However, the trolls here, which include Headhunters, Snowstriders, Hideskinners, and Shadowcasters, are keen to aid each other, so make effective pulls and single out trolls to fight one at a time. The hold is fairly simple, but there are a few odd pits and slopes that may confuse you momentarily.
A named troll called Vejrek spawns in a corridor near a room populated by Shadowcasters. Take them out first, then go for him if you're around level 12, or a very confident and slightly foolhardy 11.

Coldridge Valley is a scenic, if not chillingly cold, way for new Dwarven and Gnomish adventurers to cut their teeth for WoW. Unless you wander near the Troll encampments by the frozen lake or cave, no enemies will engage you directly, allowing you to pick and choose enemies to fight. You should definitely fight "yellow" enemies, nonaggressive ones, up until level 3. Perhaps 4, if you want to be careful.
The center expanse in the valley is populated by low-level Troggs and Wolves, and if you wander out from the central area, you'll run into slightly more difficult variaties of these creatures.
Moving to the east, you'll find that a road runs from Anvilmar to this eastern area. Along the way is a hunter's house, and at the end is a small camp manned by researchers. Both of these establishments will provide you with quests. The extreme east of the valley contains a frozen lake, by which there are two Frostmane Troll Whelp camps. These guys are aggressive and do link, so take extra care in defeating one at a time, especially if you're not yet at level 4.
The south end of the valley has an entrance to a troll cave which can be slightly more difficult to manage than the frozen lake camps. You might also get lost if you're completely new to WoW. Watch for a named mob called Grik'nir the Cold. He's involved in one of the final quests in the valley, and can be a handful to those not yet level 5.
Finally, the east part of the valley slopes upwards towards the tunnel taking you out to the rest of Dun Morogh.

Amberstill Ranch lies about halfway down the road from Ironforge/Kharanos to the North/South Gate area. Here, adventurers can rest their weary soles and perhaps do a quest or two. An elite mob quest, which involves killing a level 11 Wendigo called Vagashm, starts from here. Get a group if you're under level 12, or you can try soloing it at around 13 or 14. Careful, as a level 14 warrior, I nearly perished trying to solo it. Take the utmost care.
Also of note here is that Dwarves can get their mounts here. There's a pen housing several of them, speak to the stablemaster there.

Here is a little drawf girl by the name of Yarlyn Amberstill. She runs around here, kind of hard to get her to stand still but if you catch her by clicking on her you will find she sells the Snowshoe rabbit for 20 silver. A pleasant surprise, especially when I got my girlfriend one ;)

My Dwarvish miner passes through here all the time and with my find minerals up I see a lot of underground ore, but have not been able to find any entrance to get too it. Any help would be appreciated.

A rather small area, Chill Breeze Valley is populated by Crag Boars, Juvenile Snow Leopards, and Young Black Bears. You should be able to pass through here around level 6. However, if you're heading directly to Ironforge from Coldridge Pass, I advise sticking to the road and taking a breather as the road passes through Kharanos town.
A small cavern can be found in this valley, often containing an Elite mob called Old Icebeard, a Wendigo. This guy is level 11, but I don't advise you try to solo him until 12 at least. Otherwise, try a party experience if you'd like.

Iceflow Lake encompasses much of the northern area of Dun Morogh to the west of the City of Ironforge. The iced-over lake itself is mostly devoid of monsters, but the island in the middle is a hunting ground for Winter Wolves and Starving Winter Wolves, which are level 8-9 aggressive monsters. Take care when around them. The eastern side of the ice-topped lake is devoid of ice and can be fished in. Sometimes, a chest will spawn in the water, so take a dip if you don't mind. The path heading around the lake is home to Elder Crag Boars, Ice Claw Bears, and Snow Leopards, so be careful if you're under level 8.
The area to the north of Brewnall and west of Iceflow Lake is called Gnomeregan on the map, but Allakhazam only has a page for the dungeon and not the region in Dun Morogh. The region is home to various filtering machines and Gnome villages. The radiation pouring out from the interior areas of Gnomeregan have, sadly, turned the Gnomes here hostile and diseased. Leper Gnomes are best left alone until level 9 or 10. There is a named mob Gnome called Gibblewilt. He's a magic-user and resides in the Leper Gnome village a little north of the gates to the Gnomeregan dungeon. The area south of the gates and a little northwest of Brewnall Village is another Leper Gnome camp filled with sickly green gas. Beware their disease ability and their tendency to group up.

We fly over it on our way from IF to the Wetlands, but . . . has anyone ever actually been there?
Looks interesting. Looks like a military complex with an airstrip. Maybe I'm just hallucinating, but this area has become my White Whale and I want to go there but can't for the life of me figure out how.

Really not much to do in Iceflow, it is a large vast field of...ice. Occasional mobs across the way, but no harm to 15+. It leads to a small village, but not much of anything else.
I often see "I'm on my way to Kharanos, but I'm in Iceflow, I'm lost!". You are in fact not lost, Southeast of Iceflow is the popular city of Kharanos; home of the gnomes and dwarves!

Gadsden is not talking about Iceflow Lake. He's talking about the large lake in the NE of Dun Morogh. I've spent a couple of hours looking how to get there from Dun Morogh, but no luck.
There's a griff there. I think I saw people standing next to it today. I couldn't get a name, or I would've /w one of them.

Those travelling to and from Coldridge Valley must travel through Coldridge Pass's tunnel. This tunnel is infested with Rockjaw Raiders than can cause headaches for anyone below level 4 or 5. If you're just starting out in Coldridge Valley, seriously consider adventuring in the valley until your level hits 5 to have an easier time through the tunnel.
Coldridge Valley's side of the tunnel has some quest-giving NPCs near the entrance and in the mining area near it. Check those out.

This area is basically a twisting slope leading from the rest of Dun Morogh to the City of Ironforge. Near the city's entrance are several NPCs and cannonade equipment, and from there, the slope takes you down to the rest of the Dun Murogh area. You can take the dirt path at the foot of the slope southward to the town of Kharanos if you have business there. At the foot of the slope, there shouldn't be any threats bigger than level 6 Wolves.

South of Helm's Bed Lake is a house and a few dirt plazas populated by Dark Iron Spies. These guys should be left alone until you reach level 10 and can efficiently dispatch them. The Rockjaws in this area, also around level 10, tend to mingle with the Dark Iron Spies and may cause problems. Take care to fight one at a time while your level is low.
These guys are running an illegal mining operation. Captain Beld, the leader of the Dark Iron Spies here, lives in the bottom floor of the house there. He's part of a Warrior quest, but anyone can kill him. He's level 11, but I would venture a minimum of 12 just to be safe.

This area's main draw is that it provides access to Loch Modan. However, there are still quests to be done here, so if you're trying to clean the region of quests, make sure to stop by here. Despite the fact that there's a camp set up by Ironforge soldiers here, there are still dangerous enemies like Snow Leopards, Winter Wolves, and Ice Claw Bears in this small area. One important named mob is a white bear called Mangeclaw. He's part of a quest that can be undertaken here, but again, anyone can take him on at anytime. He's level 11, but try to be level 12 or higher before taking him on. I would also advise bringing some potions.

This area can be reached by taking the north fork when the road splits along the northern shore of Helm's Bed Lake. It consists of a slightly sloping road and a tunnel. The only monsters that are really here are Scarred Crag Boars and Elder Crag Boars, so you probably don't need to worry about aggro.

Shimmer Ridge is comprised of several high hills in the proximity of Iceflow Lake in northwestern Dun Morogh. There are sloping dirt paths leading up to the area.
The ridge is populated by camps of trolls from the Frostmane clan. Headhunters, Snowstriders, and Seers are common here, and they are all around level 9, so match their level at least. They like to form circles around chests and campfires, and are sometimes nearly impossible to engage without having to fight a couple of his friends as well, which means you might want to wait until you're at level 10 or 11 to really turn their camps upside down.
There is a bridge linking the two halves of the area, and a cave on the northernmost ridge is filled with more trolls. A quest takes place here, so you might want to use that as a reason to venture here.

This is the south gate leading to Loch Modan from the eastern part of Dun Morogh. Aside from a couple of beer delivery quests (one will take you into Loch Modan itslef), there's not much here. There may be a few boars in the area, but I don't think there are any other enemies here.

Getting to this area is as simple as taking the southern path at the fork in the road just along Helm's Bed Lake's northern shore. That's the lake that's at the southeast part of the map, mind you.
This area is a bit more dangerous than it's northern counterpart. Aside from the nonaggressive Scarred Crag Boars (level 9 and up), you'll be passing close to a Rockjaw camp which contains Bonesnappers (which are dangerous to even level 10 players) and the threatening Backbreakers (which can challenge players as high as level 12 and 13!). Stick to the inside shoulder of the curve and you should make it okay, without having to deal with the Rockjaws. A little further on is a tunnel to South Gate Outpost.

The Grizzled Den lies nestled between mountains to the southwest of Kharanos. You can access it from the south, near the road leading from Coldridge Pass, or from a gentle slope from Kharanos itself.
The outside area is populated by Young Wendigo and Wendigo. Be at least level 6 or 7 before trying to take them on. Aside from these humanoid enemies, you can find boars, bears, and leopards here. The bears and leopards are aggressive, but can be dealt with at level 6.
If you decide to venture into the cave portion of the area, you will quickly find huge numbers of closely grouped Wendigo pacing around. Due to the sheer number, I would venture you be around level 8 before trying to spelunk the den, though 7 is fine if you're careful. There's some good EXP and junk to be looted from the Wendigo.

This bland area reaches from that mountain range marked on your map east of Kharanos to the edges of the Gol'Bolar Quarry. It blankets all that empty space at the bottom of the Dun Morogh map. It's also south of the Amberstill Ranch.
Here, you will find Elder Crag Boars, Snow Leopards, and Ice Claw Bears. These are all handled decently by characters level 8 and above, so I guess it's a good grinding area
