This strategy guide covers how to defeat the Spellblade Aluriel boss encounter and notable trash on all difficulties. Spellblade Aluriel is usually the fourth boss of

Overview
– Spellblade Aluriel cycles between three enchantments: Frost, Fire, and Arcane. Each enchantment grants her an ability that she can only use while she's under the effect of that enchantment. She will then manipulate that magic with a few commands: replicate, detonate, and animate.
Tanks

A large construct, the

, patrols the area. This is a powerful mini-boss who can be very difficult to defeat. The raid should take care to clear the initial path of enemies, and should not engage Gilded Guardian until there is ample room and he can be pulled alone.

Crushing Stomp is fatal to non-tanks
The Gilded Guardian uses a combination of

Spellblade Aluriel Abilities
This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
魔剑士奥鲁瑞尔
encounter on Normal difficulty. Changes to the fight for Looking for Raid, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties are listed below in their respective sections, including suggestions for dealing with the new mechanics introduced in these difficulties.
The Spellblade Aluriel encounter involves moderate movement and requires the infrequent killing of a handful of low-health adds (once every 1-1.5 minutes). The encounter has three phases, each of which follows the same general structure, but with different abilities based on the element Aluriel wields during that phase. She will cycle through all 3 phases over the course of 4 minutes, and then repeat until dead.
Phase Structure
The three phases that Spellblade Aluriel cycles through are Frost, Fire, and Arcane:
She begins in Frost phase, as marked by the
寒冰强化
buff, and this lasts for 85 seconds, until she reaches 0 mana
She then enters Fire phase, gaining
烈焰强化
, which lasts for 85 seconds, until she reaches 0 mana
Finally, she enters the Arcane phase, gaining

, which lasts for 70 seconds
At the end of the Arcane phase, Aluriel enters Frost phase again, and continues in this pattern
Although the outcome of the events is very different from phase to phase, the order of the events that occur is similar.
Early in the phase, Aluriel will use her phase-specific mechanic (

)
This initial cast will affect only a few players
Shortly thereafter, Aluriel will Replicate the phase-specific mechanic, spreading it to additional players
She will then Detonate the mechanic, dealing damage to nearby players for each existing instance of the mechanic, and creating ground effects in their location
Finally, she will Animate the mechanic, summoning a handful of adds that pulse AoE damage to the raid until killed

Throughout the entire fight, Spellblade Aluriel will attack the tanks with

This damage will hit up to two targets in front of her, splitting evenly between them
The two tanks should stay in front of Aluriel for the entirety of the fight; all other players should stay away

During beta testing, players were able to nullify this phase's mechanics by transferring the

s onto players with immunities, and then using those immunities to remove the debuff entirely.

work reactively, and should be used

will persist through/be unaffected by immunities when the encounter goes live.
Phase 2: Master of Fire

Phase 3: Master of the Arcane

debuff caps at 20 stacks, rather than stacking indefinitely, so that players can wait out the entire duration of a

damage by 30% per stack, rather than 40%.
Heroic Difficulty
Frozen Tempest area indicator - run away!Players who cross the edge of Frozen Tempest are Entombed in IceOn Heroic difficulty, each of the adds that Aluriel summons with her Animate spells gain additional abilities.
Icy Enchantments gain the
寒冰暴雨
ability, and retain
冰霜爆裂

The Icy Enchantment will teleport to a random target and begin to cast

At the end of the 2-second cast, the Icy Enchantment creates an icy circle around it, and channels

This stacks, so if all 6 Fiery Enchantments are brought together, they each deal 500% additional damage and cast 500% faster - quickly causing a wipe
Players with the

debuff should be sure to drop their

patches more than 8 yards apart to avoid this
The Fiery Enchantments will also chain cast

on Heroic mode deals around 2,000,000 damage

Tanks should not hold aggro on the Fiery Enchantments; let players get threat and kite them away from each other

Mythic Difficulty
On Mythic difficulty, Spellblade Aluriel's soul will periodically escape from her body, creating a

add that will persist for 45 seconds before despawning. This will occur 18 seconds into each phase.
Fel Soul has almost as much health as Spellblade Aluriel, and will automatically despawn after 45 seconds, so do not waste damage on it
If the Fel Soul and Spellblade Aluriel are ever more than 45-50 yards apart, they will each gain

The Fel Soul will always despawn before Aluriel casts her Animate ability, so the Fel Soul and other adds should never overlap. Just avoid its mechanics as much as possible and heal through the additional damage.
Each of Spellblade Aluriel's adds are stronger and more deadly in Mythic difficulty as well.
Icy Enchantments'

ability deals 15% of maximum health every second, instead of 5%
Fiery Enchantments'

is twice as damaging as it was on Heroic, and may cause one-shots if allowed to cast; players should use defensive CDs if they are targeted and the spell is not interrupted
Arcane Enchantments'

channel is 15 seconds, rather than 20 seconds, and each

cast is likely to be fatal without heavy cooldown use
Due to these changes, the raid may wish to use

to kill the Arcane Enchantments.
Finally, each phase's timing may be different. In the recent Mythic tests,

lasts only 75 seconds, rather than 85. If this holds true for all phases, the cycle will be 3:30 instead of 4:00, and the abilities she uses during these phases come more quickly than in Normal/Heroic difficulty.

Ice block does not remove the Mark of Frost (tested in Heroic Aluriel)

Tip for warrior & paladin tanks: although Annihilate hits can't be dodged or parried, they
can be blocked
. Short-term guaranteed block effects like Shield Block and Neltharion's Fury are extremely effective mitigation for this ability, and highly recommended.

On our normal run, the ice pools were consumed during the spawning of the adds, they disappeared immediately during the animate.

Solo'ed this today Heroic mode on a Retribution Paladin. 120 ilvl 376.
This boss will kick the crap out of you and make you think you are a baddie. lol
It is doable, but you have to:
1. Have solid burst and AoE for adds. If you don't kill adds within 4 seconds of them spawning, in all phases they will kill you.
2. Have some shield/immunity for the Fiery Enchantments' Pyroblast. They will one-shot you. Mass-interrupt might work, but my paladin doesn't have one (damn you Arcane Torrent nerf!). I tried Blinding Light but didn't work, so I bubbled and burst them down.
3. Have enough DPS (without CD's) to push her and be able to manage the Annihilates. Even at 120 after the third they hurt, A LOT.
Ideally save CD's for after or right up until the fiery enchantments spawn and burn her down.
Fun fight to solo for sure. Not sure she'll soloable right now in Mythic. (8.1.5)
