This curse is extremely effective against druids in cat form and hunter pets, or any other enemy with a fast attack speed.

One should not underestimate this. -10% physical dmg is more than some people might think at first. If you're losing a fight and the enemy has no decurser, or in any kind of PvE, the effect is quite noticable.

we also try to get this put on High King Maulgar if we can. Since he hits pretty hard. Every little bit helps

This is best used in PvE instances against melee bosses. It takes less of a toll on the MT and healer. Very effective considering it can be amplified 50% (Afflic spec) and last's 2 min. Decreasing any bosses melee by 625 is usually the difference between victory and defeat.

Cannot be Amplified anymore, that talent only works on CoA, CoD, and CoEx now. But, there is still the 2 point 20% talent if you're really into this curse.

Actually 14AP=1dps so if you have Imp CoW you take someones dps down by 30.

Seems like it reduces the number of hit points damaged per hit. What I'd like to know is if it affects ranged damage.

The way it reads leads me to assume ALL damage is deduced by the number in the spell description, depending on the rank of the spell. What I would like to share with my fellow Locks is that this curse is USELESS, as 100% of the time it is better to cast Curse of Agony then this curse. Save your money and don't even train for this spell.

i disagree. if you're having trouble and there are two monsters on your neck, this spell is great. + you need it often to save your imp

Does anybody ever really not buy a spell, especially at the advice of a post? C'mon, man, yeah most of the time your using curse of agony but against quick attackers this adds up.
Take Rank 2, -10 dmg. Assume they are attacking at a rate of 1.5, over 30 seconds, thats 200 dmg. once a second, 300 damage. 60 seconds 600 dmg. full duration of 2 minutes 1200 damage. Lotta ifs, but still.
People don't appreciate damage mitigation its all KILL KILL KILL or HEAL! HEAL! theyd rather get healed for 100 damage then spared 500.

Although, they COULD give it a little more bang, considering its limited uses.

buying rank 1 of this curse is really useful, as you dont't get an alternate curse before level 8. But I agree that the higher (especially the highest rank) of this ain't worth it at all.

If many warlocks cast this spell on the same target does it stack? Going a raid with one warlock in each group and everybody cast the last rank of this spell on a enemy, well thats 32*8=256 dmg per hit. Thats a big ammount of dmg. Using it on a really fast hitter you can get him down to nearly no dmg at all. But that suppose it stacks of course

I like to use Curse of Weakness on low levels who are trying to kill some NPCs. It's also quite useful against Rogues and a Hunter's pet. Otherwise it's pretty much crap.

Imagine 40 locks in Molten Core using this on Ragnaros

Curses don't stack, so that wouldn't work at all. And who's gonna get 40 level 60 Warlocks to be raiding in the same instance at the same time?

i think its ok i use it alot wen there is like 3 guys attacking my voidy. so i cna focus on one target and fear it without the argo cause it dose no damage .

I like to use it like a suport course, in the main target i use CoA but i use this one in the rest that are ataking the tank so he can live a little longer. But i would apreciate your advice to know if this tactic is useful or not.

it ddepends on what talent tree.
afliction--curse of agony
if your taking the damage--curse of weakness
i'd recomend--curse of agony all around

but say your being attacked by a hunter+pet

CoA opn hunter
CoW on pet

I personally never use this. CoA is much better for any mob or player. The dmg migation just isn't enough to be worth using over CoA. If there are 2 mobs attacking my pet, I would use CoA and Corr on both targets, because when im finished with the 1rst mob, the 2nd one is already at 3/7 health.

Before the patch I loved using this on hunter pets.

True story: I was fighting a hunter in Azshara, we were both around whatever level range is appropriate there. He sent his pet after me, I put an Amp'd Curse of Weakness on his pet, his pet was hitting me for 1 DAMAGE. 1 white damage, that's it. I leisurely enjoyed killing the hunter while the pet nibbled at me.

I actually found a use for this now. I gank a lot, so what i do sometimes, is cast this on a player, then cast curse of recklessness on teh mob, and watch the player die and have to pay the bill. hehe.

i use it against some guys in battlegrounds if its like a warrior thats only thing its good for
