Doesn't work on AoE... only single target spells.
Love this new skill, reflects single target spells including polymorph and works on some boss's.
This is the best new skill in my opinion and its finaly given warriors a fair chance agains casters. Made a mage 1 shot himself within 5 mins of having this skill.
Now does this reflect the spell back to the caster or is it just pretty much a spell blocker?
edit: sorry didnt see the above posts... Now I cant wait to get this!
I've also had it reflect channeled spells, more specifically i've had shadow priest mobs in SL mind flay themselves.
This doesn't reflect beneficial spells, right? I'd be a lot less impressed by this ability if it activated and knocked a heal back to the healer.
does this work on Death Coil? or Fear? if so than =) too warlocks!!!!
To counter it, it's wise to use some harmless spell, like Detect Magic or Ice Lance (which deals only a minimal damage if you're not frozen).
It'll receive a new animations which makes it easier to notice, but some addons might help you as well, for example Natur EnemyCastBar (
) - it generates a sound warning and shows its duration as well. =)
Poor mages, locks, priests.
Can't be used against spells already in the air, can't be used against aoe or channeled spells (that are already being channeled). And its pretty visible when you do it too, so if you're really worried about it just keep a rank 1 instant-cast spell around on your spell bar and cast it every time you see a warrior bust this out.
Can you reflect-sheep a mage with this?
No, it does not reflect Howl of Terror, because it is an AoE spell. Spell Reflection will only reflect direct target spells.
Perhaps one should consider the following in a PvP situation...
Protection Warrior has already been fighting, has 25 rage or more, and sees a fresh and dewy looking Mage.
Normally, the afformentioned mage would frost bolt the warrior, and step back and cast again, and so forth, and it would get the the Warrior too far from yonder caster to cleave his guts out.
Now, let us consider the warrior with Spell Reflect. Seeing the target is a caster, he tosses up this spell, and runs towards the morsel of mushy magic user, and the frost bolt goes straight back to the mage, who is now inching away as quickly as they can from the angry looking fellow with the big dangerous objects.
The mage is later uncerimoniously disemboweled.
This assumes that the spell does not work against Area of Effect spells, such as Frost Nova, which, if it did, we know the mage would be dead in a few seconds in any case.
Also handy to use when you see the tell-tale blue light pop out of a mage's boots, or you know the mage is a Arcan-Pyro type, and they will probably open with the tactic, as many others have said.
When I was in halaa I pwned a 70 mage because he used pyro blast and I used spell reflect he died. it owns.
You dont loose spell reflection if you put your 2hander back on after activating it.
Pop in defensive stance and put it on, get back into zerker/battle and do you thing while you reflect away. (Itemrack has an option to equip weapons/gear depending on stance).
Apply Aura：Reflect All Spells
