Hands down the best raid healing spell all around for paladins.
This spell is the most useful and most used spell for any paladin in end game instances. With a low cast time paladins can get off many heals in the time it takes to get off one heal of light.
I have a level 40 paladin, and i aboultlet LOVE this spell. Not only is this spell incredibly cheap (70 mana for a 120 hp heal), but by getting some halfway decent "of healing" greens, you can EASILY heal harder than a priest.
This is THE paladin raid spell, I have topped the charts many times with this great, mana effcient spell.
One should note this spell has about the highest mana-efficiency you'll find for heals, but at the same time is incredibly situational.
With a Holy-spec, your Holy Light crits so much that you get a ton of mana back. And Flash of Light heals so little it's rarely useful for actually healing someone against damage.
This leaves 2 main uses:
a) Topping someone off for little mana. Although seeing Holy Light crits more, you could try to be lucky if you're daring, and get the heal completely for free.
b) Flash-spamming a tank. Most effective if multiple Paladins are doing it, making a tank virtually invulnerably for very evenly-spread threat-increase on the Paladins. Or if you do it to support HoTs/EarthShield on the tank to make sure he can't die.
It's a bit over-situational, but not bad at all. Just learn when to use it over Holy Light.
It's the most efficient heal in the game. Get +400 healing gear, slap on blessing of light. You get a 35 mana heal that recovers 340 health.
If u use holy light, u will run out of mana very quickly unless decked out in +int gear. This heals about 10% health, so just use this to keep a players health up. Use holy light when a players health will take a lot of FoL's to get up. I can be very mana efficent and be a good healer at the same time with this spell.
On lower levels this doesn't seem useful to me. Although with some huge amount of +healing, like 1000, and the lvl 58 variant of this spell makes things way more interesting.
Being a healadin at 70 with a lot of plus healing gear i use this spell all the time, if the tank is good at holding aggro i can simply cast this spell on them constantly and pretty much have no worries. Its just a great spell for keeping everyones health up.
this spell would be handy in the case when you have low mana and have little time to cast a healing spell. they made it so it heals less so it would balance the game out so this faster one doesnt heal more in a shorter time than the one that heals more for a longer casting time
