This boss spawns after you activate the 6 statues on the floor above him in the correct order, along with a large snake statue used for a quest -
https://www.wowhead.com/classic/object=148838
He wanders around the pool at the bottom of the room, and as far as I've observed he's just a basic tank and spank fight - the only danger is that the various other trash mobs with him will also agro if you pull him at the wrong time.

Where is this guy i wanna kill him can somone please post where to find him?

What is the order of the statues that you have to activate to get him to appear?

Thottbot
i *think* its
south
north
southwest
southeast
northwest
northeast
think being as loosely defined as possible....
hes a punter, and he punts high, so if your not kept above half health theres a good chance it'll kill you. he also changes targets on the punt, so healers beware. hits hard, stuns...
theres 3 snakes in the pit that you can, and should clear before he spawns. i didnt bother clearing the bottom circle of mobs, and they didnt come into play.

i tried to solo this guy (feral druid). i managed to clear everything in order to activate the snake statues.
in one run i was able to get him to 20%ish. then he got some lucky crits and owned me. i asked a friendly druid to come help. he healed me. he died. :)
ps - when he punts, feral charge in the air works wonders.

I had at him twice last night as a 59 feral (kitty biased) druid, once solo where I had him down to a sliver of health but then he back-to-backed me with a special attack and a crit. Was pretty sure I'd succeed a 2nd time but a friend joined me and he was no problem at all for the two of us.
I'm not even sure whether he tried to punt during either encounter (he did do some special attacks that might have been punting), but here's what I did as a precaution. For the solo fight I backed up into one of the grated archways down in the pool and pulled him with feral faerie fire. With my back to the grate and arch overhead, there was just no place for me to be punted to.
With the duo we pulled him back into the hall and fought with our backs to the wall there.
Incidentally, he's just straight physical damage so not really anything you can do with resistances/absorb potions to help.

60 feral/resto druid, decent gear. I tried soloing him and got punted almost onto a platform. That would have ended badly, I'm sure. But I died instead. :)
So, I invited my 53 druid friend to heal and and it worked out just fine. Backed into a grate and didn't get punted once. I just wailed on him and down he went.

me (lvl 54 fury warrior) and a friend of mine (lvl 53 feral druid) killed this guy together
i started off by using deathwish + recklesness against him and when deathwish ended i began using shield and tanked him the usual way while my friend just kept me alive

I just soloed him as a 60 restoration druid wearing mostly blue feral gear. The whole ordeal took me roughly 30 mins, with all of the statue popping and such included. The trick is to pull him under one of the little archways in the water so his knockback doesn't do anything to you. He hits pretty hard, but not really anything that hard if you're in bear (I had 9k armor). Never had to pop innervate or NS, since he's stunnable. Long fight, but doable.

just did a 3-man druid group on him. 2lvl 55 and one 48. one of each spec. no deaths. not hard at all :)

Soloed as a heavy resto (0/10/41) druid in feral blues and healing epics. Took maybe 5 minutes. Pulled him into an alcove to avoid the knockback. Between bashing to deshift and heal and frenzied regen I kept myself alive long enough to finally kill him. Didn't need to use NS or innervate.

Did they change this recently? All the statues have 2 elites and most have grubs as well. The ones with the two elites can be solo'ed as a 60 druid by pulling one at a time, but the others with the grubs are linked and I can't do them.
Or is there some other trick to activating the statues?

We did this with two feral Druids (60 and 56). Stealthed around and got the statues turned on in no time, then dropped down from one of the statue platforms in cat form with no damage or aggro taken and quickly re-stealthed.
Clearing the pool is not necessary, since Atal'alarion can be easily pulled without adds when he is approaching the stairs -- just be aware that there is a slime that occasionally comes down the stairs.
I pulled Atal'alarion and switching to Bear form (with just 5440 armor) backed to one of the gates as far as I could go while my friend healed. We tried him with Bear + Cat at first, but it didn't work out. Bear + healing worked like a charm, though.
There are a few pointers we discovered while on this adventure of ours:
- Atal'alarion's attacks affect everyone around him, not just the one he's targeting. This is pretty much why it didn't work out with my friend being in Cat form: Atal'alarion hits hard, forcing the druidling to heal not only herself but the tank as well while switching forms back and forth = mana gone.
- The healer should keep a good distance to Atal and the tanker, preferrably backing to one of the other grates in the room and peeking out when you need to be healed. It sounds weird, but works.
- Backing up in a grate saves you from being thrown up in the air, but it doesn't stop him from stunning you. After you've been stunned, he turns around and heads for your healer, so this is something you need to be prepared for in case it happens. You healer will probably have to switch to Bear before you can catch up with Atal'alarion and re-gain his attention -- this is why it was a good idea to have your healer near one of the other grates.
I hope this helps Druids interested in some solo/duo Sunken Temple adventuring. It's pretty fun to do it that way.

Figured i'd finally do the damn quest, even though i didn't need the rewards.
This is how i did it as a 16/3/32 specced druid: (weird spec, i know. pretty personalized after my gear)
Went down first to kill the three mobs there, which was the hardest part of the whole "run".
All three hitting on me at once made it rather hard to time healing and cast it before entering bear form again, but I made it out of it easily and alive.
Then stealthed back up and activated all statues without any aggro at all, except for an annoyingly quick oozeling or two from behind when stealthing.
When all six were activated I simply jumped down into the water and threw a few spells on Atal'alarion before meeting him in bear form.
Pulled him quickly into one of the "bevels" (not sure that's the right word, but you'll hopefully understand ^_^) to avoid being thrown.
Took some time to kill him even with a few epics and the rest being superior, but of course I am geared to be a kitty so I do lack strength.
The whole fight was steady and went well, and I walked out of it happily finished with the quest, and with a polearm worth a few gold to vendors =)
Hope this'll help a few of you ;)

He spawns as soon as you click the last snake statue.
What I did was first clear the top, then I set my group up at his spawn point, and I (the druid) clicked all of the statues, went cat (to avoid fall damage) and jumped down after the final statue was clicked.
Again, if you don't know, the order of statue clicking is:
South, North, SouthWest, SouthEast, NorthWest, NorthEast.

I soloed him without a hitch as a 60 feral druid (14/32/5) with some PvP gear, mostly blues with a couple epics.
-The Below South, North, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast order works witout any issues.
-Getting the statues done was fairly easy, the statues that had the slime and the elemental could be pulled spereatly and killed no problem, and all the rest could be done without killing a single mob. To do the remaining four just position your self carefully next to the statue out of agro range while taping it, and if possible use Soothe Animal on all beast mobs before doing so.
-At that point the Guardian spawned and I jumped down to the bottom, and healed/buffed, then pulled him under one of the arches in bear form as to avoid the toss. I waited until I was at half health, Bashed then Healed, and then built up my rage so I could use Frenzied Regen the second time around. I repeated this cycle about two times, and then at about 10 percent health he started beserking unexpectedly and he nearly killed me (I had about 2 percent of my health left) . Make sure you have near to full health before he reaches 10 percent, becuase chances are that you wont be able to get another heal in at this point, and you probably wont want to cut it as close I did.
Hope this helps, and have fun :)

I can't believe it. I'm level 58 druid and my level 70 hunter guildie mate helped me all the way through, just as we activated the last statue she was disconnected.
D'oh, so I thought, I'll give it a go. We had cleared the stairs, altar and pool so it was just the boss, I stealthed in kitty form to the statue and clicked on it, hurrah quest completed. Didn't even have to engage. Woot!

Solo'd him as a BWL-geared 60 rogue with my back to an alcove, no special pots or buffs. He's stunnable, so pop CD's and use every stun you've got to AVOID his damage, which is super high compared to the other bosses in ST. (~500 normal hits, ~1,000 crits) If you have any extra avoidance gear in your bags, use it.
