This guy is tough- he roots everyone in the room periodically and keeps spawning 10-20 treants throughout the fight. Might want to get a druid to tank him, the shapeshifts will help getting out of the root and keeping aggro.

Man why did Malfurion have to die. Staghelm is weaker but he is strong. My horde guild tried to kill him but we failed some of us had tier 1 maybe we were suppose to have all teir one to beat him

One of the main city bosses, Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm definately proves to be a worthy opponent.

AoE roots, and summons trents every 20 sec. he can be the doom of a unprepared raid group.

Suggestions definately keep a druid on standby to pick up aggro as they can quickly remove the root and pick up aggro. As well keep up aoe teams to get the treants down as they will spell disaster for your group especially the squishies.

I must add that Fandral Staghelm is perhaps the most obnoxious and annoying of all the NPC's in WoW.

Never seen the Alliance fend off an attack on him ^_~

Malfurion is not dead, but he has disappeared and with the corruption within the Emerald Dream becoming more apparent, Malfurion could be in a great deal of trouble.

He's not in Duskwood, he's in Darnassus at the top of the tree next in the Cenarion Enclave area. 35,9

My guild got him a while ago, while I missed the raid the strategyfor beating him is quite simple.
1. Get a Warlock into the city.
This may be hard on a pvp server, but you can jump down the bloodvenom falls from Fellwood into the middle of Darkshore. Once a warlock is in the city. Once in the city and running from the guards go directly north. There is a small path leading onto a branch of the great tree. This is a great spot for summoning an army, which is the next step.
2. Get 2 rouges/ druids to the lock, this shouldn't be hard, just stealth in.
3. Summon the army, it took us with a full raid to beat this guy, but we also used pots.
4. Have nature dmg absorbing pots given to all members of the raid, also, with all the new nature resist gear, it should be easy to get a very high tolerance to nature dmg.
5. Get the army in position, hand out pots put nature gear on and make sure to keep the army silent, the area in which you are summoned is secure, but /yelling may add unwanted alliance.
6. Simply have the army follow a leader up the tree to Staghelm. Make sure not to hit civilians or wisps, they add unwanted dkp and guards... while traveling up the tree, there are some druid trainers that will fight you, you also may hit an elite guard spawn, kill these guys fast, they arnt civilians and should die fast.
7. Clear the guards in staghelm's room, he wont attack until hit, so have a warrior tank him by attacking him first, I heard he keeps aggro very well, so layer on the dps.
8. The only factors that may kill the raid are the root aoe nature dmg, which is negated by the potions and nature resist gear, and the guards/ alliance, just have rouges kill the guards as they spawn and sheep any alliance that try and disrupt. other then that, he is a pretty easy kill, good hkps, and some gold!

Creed on Dark Iron took him down last night, with a 31 man raid. It was pretty easy, with only a few alliance problems. We got about 1k pvp honor and some 3g as well. It is very much your typical tank and heal fight, with aoe on the mobs he spawns thrown in. With around 80 - 100 NR, you'll be resisting enough of his aoe root to be just fine, with perhaps one NR pot to take care of the rest. A good fun fight, took about three minutes from when we engaged him till he died.

I think a lot of us enjoyed the jump off of the branch as the best part of the night. :)

I am alliance, and I congratulate any horde guilds that can bring him down,he is just a NE version of Garithos, and please stay away from Tyrande.

I know they had to drop Stormrage beacuse he had risen to become the most powerful character in Azeroth, but why did they replace him with the naive idiot? If I see a raid going for him, you won't see me interfere. Just don't touch Tyrande Whisperwind.

Was gonna be easy to kill just look at what he drops! Blizzard would not have given him that crap if they thought people would stay away from him and rarely try. The stuff he drops is crap and Blizzard made him that way because they knew he was going to be easy.

Well he's been killed on Mal'Ganis several times now. He drops nothing but gold (about 80 or so).

He's not terribly easy, but enough nature resist (Hunters and Shamans are good for Aspect of the Wild and Nature Resistance Totem, which can add 120 Nature Resist by themselves) will make people resist roots and break root early enough so his 300-360/tick AOE root isn't as killer as it should be. He also does nature-based lightning shocks and a 1000/tick Rejuvenation(Shamans should purge him periodically).

It should be noted that the Arch Druid is the Leader of Darnassus, and with the new honor system you receive HK: Leader for killing him, NOT Tyrande.

The one in Cenarion Hold in Silitithus that sends you to look at the caverns of time. I thought that was the guy who watched his son die in the shifting sands.

I just watched as a raid of at least 30 Horde tried (operative word here: tried) to take down the arch druid. I also see there's no list of what he drops. Ergo, has anyone been successful in killing him?

Oh, and PS. After the raid wiped, the arch druid had nary a dent in health. Crazy.

Arch *!@#$%^ Fandral Staghelm is an %^&*!@#. He really needs to die. He treats everyone like @#$% (look at the guy behind his tree), he talks *!@# about tyrande even though HE'S NEVER FOUGHT AN EREDAR, and to top it all off, he's hording massive amounts of evil morrowgrain. WTF?

Please remember why he is such an &*#hole. He watched his son die at the hands of a Qiraji General in the war of the shifting sands. Since, his only goal in life is to bring back his son. He has reluctantly accepted the role als Arch druid, but only while Malfurious Stromrage is still inside the emerald dream.

He is older then Malfurion and Tyrande, the war of the Shifting Sands took place when those two where still young.

Nice and easy kill, doable with 35 people, no DHK on the path to him, and you get about 460 honor each for just the kill.
