Just a quick note - there are many strats to defeat this boss, which often overlook one thing : she ambushes (backstabs) when she comes out of stealth. Have your weaker raid members place their backs against the wall when she goes stealth.
Here's the strat my guild uses (after trying several others - like just running around crazy-like, flash-bombs, etc).
Have the raid stand in the alcove with the gong. Do not let any non-melee leave this alcove during the fight.
Have a warrior just inside LoS to the healers inside each cage. As the spiders prowl out, they will shout at them and gain agrro. By the end of the fight, each tank should have 20 or so panthers on them.
If someone is marked, have them put their backs right on the gong. That should keep most of the panthers from coming to them (if the panthers see the marked toon, they will ignore the warrior's taunts.)
When she disappears, the MT will come and stand in the alcove facing the raid. As soon as anyone sees her, they will yell out in vent or raid chat and he will tank her back out on the floor.
After she dies, AOE panthers. Fun fight!
Here is an alternate strategy to fighting Arlokk.
This strategy requires 3 arriors 3 paladins and at least one warlock.
In each pen that spawns panthers, you want the following setup. A warrior in the hay pile. The warrior will be spamming thunderclap and demoralizing shout to draw aggro onto himself. Behind the warrior is a paladin with devotion aura that is responsible for healing the Tank. The paladin is positioned to pick up any panthers that may get loose. Behind the paladin is a hunter who shoots a flare to help see the panthers. The hunter also has their pet out to catch any loose panthers.
In between each pen is a paladin that also helps dps any loose panthers that may come from either side. This method effectively controls most panthers.
The rest of the raid needs to stay at the back of the entrance to Arlokk's room. As previously stated, everyone needs to keep their backs to the wall so they don't get one-shotted. During the fight, all dps needs to be focused on the boss. Any loose panthers are dealt with by having a warlock assigned to doing hellfire. The warlock also has an assigned healer. Have the warlock drink a Greater Fire protection potion as well. A warlock using hellfire is usually able to handle most of the loose panthers allowing the rest of the raid to dps Arlokk.
When Arlokk is not out, anyone who is marked stays with their back to the wall at the entrance to the room. Everyone else either deals with loose panthers or helps heal the warriors that are in the pens. Druids save their innervates for the paladins in the pens if necessary.
Simply repeat this and Arlokk should be dead in approximately 2 or 3 vanishes. It is also important to put DOTs on Arlokk before she vanishes.
Make sure you keep the marked person or people alive, that way the panthers are only beating on them and not the rest of the raid. Kite them, frost nova them, earthbind, whatever you can use to slow them.
Concentrate DPS on here while she is visible. When she dissappears I think you can try to AOE the panthers, but I dont think this is 100% necessary. (I havent really payed attention to this part, as I'm just a healbot)
When she reappears she whirlwinds x2 for around 1.8k on cloth.
As far as a strat goes.. well you have to work it out for yourself ;P
This is a tougher boss in ZG. Here's what works for us.
When she appears, everyone neesd to be attacknig her and ignoring panthers, save for a fear or 2. Priests need to remove Shadow Word Pain. Watch for who gets marked.
When she fades it's important to kite the panthers with earthbind, piercing howl, and frost nova. Don't kill them! If you kill them you'll eventualy get elite panthers, and that's gg.
The second time she appears she'll open with a whirlwind that hits for 4K and will instantly kill any cloth class. All the cloth need to be close to the gong or you'll get hit by the WW.
Again all DPS needs to be no her, and fear the panthers.
Just keep everyone in the nook by the gong. Your MT near the middle of the room, and 2 tanks to either side of the MT.
Panthers will spawn over the hay stacks and warriors will taunt every panther. You may have a few tigers go after the main group but they are easy to take care of. No matter who is marked-if you keep em far enough away from the panthers you wont have to worry about the marked person dying. This also makes it way easy to focus DPS on Arlokk when she is visible.
We managed to use this strat with one of our off tanks disconnecting during the fight-he had all his panthers still focused on him even tho he wasnt marked and wasnt capable of using any taunts/abilities for a few minutes.
Just takes some practice. /smile
P.s. Fearing mass quantities of panthers=bad idea. Also if you plan to kill all the panthers that spawn during the fight you are gonna have alot of DPS gone off the boss and possibly wipe.
We are talking 30+ panthers during this fight.
We had everyone except the main tank and 2 druids sit out of line of site from the boss behind the pen walls. Our druids were wearing Green Whelp Armor (5% chance of sleeping target for 30secs while struck by melee)and by being the only casters in LoS one of them automatically gets marked.
Once the druid is marked he spends the whole fight running back and forth spamming demoralizing roar or whatever that aoe taunt is and the druid is able to successfully keep aggro on all of the panthers. While the panthers beat the druid they get slept by the armor. At any one time we would have upwards of around 20 panthers slept.
From there if you need help with this fight then you're lost. A level 175 leatherworking pattern....who'da thought.
after like 7 wipes overall and many strategies, we have finally downed arlokk.
Here is the strategy we used:
MT stays in the middle to aggro boss, rogues, pallies, warriors asist. All casters and ranged stand in front of the gong, not right against it though.
Two offtanks need to be in the hay where the panthers spawn. Warriors are the best for this. Greenwelp chest pieces help ALOT (YES i know its leather and warriors wear plate, but trust me, youll have almost all the panthers asleep with this, the loss in armor will not be an issue) your OTs will not take too much dmg.
1 dedicated healer for each offtank, as far back as possible and as close to the group of casters and ranged classes in front of gong.
offtanks and their 2 healers dont ever need to move, rest just DPS the boss, when she fades, try to stay apart from each other cuz of her cleave when she comes back (stay near gong!)
At the end if your healers for the OTs run outta mana, switch them out. Panthers should all be attacking your OTs, if not (usually at the end of the fight) use nova, fear, flash bombs to get them out of your way, and continue to DPS boss.
If you do this properly, anyone who gets marked in the group in front of the gong, will not take any aggro from panthers whatsoever. If one or two RARE panthers get loose, sheep em or just kill em, should not be more than a couple otherwise your not positioned correctly. GL!
Yes I agree, the fight is alot ahrder now, we whiped 10 times trying different stradegys...
Arlokk fight after 1.10:
a) Panters now STEALTH from the gages ---> Countered this by assigning 2 hunters to flare the starting areas
b) he gouges the MT, so its crusial to use 2 tanks on the fight
Its pain now! while the tigers are in stealth they go directly to the marked person, if you find a workig tactic... plz post it
note: The door shield is now down when he vanishes... strange bug or ment to be? could the marked person just run out of the door? :D
Has anybody found a pattern or system to how she marks the people? or is there a way to keep out priest from getting marked?
Just wondering, my guild was experimenting with a way of steering the mark off of clothies and onto a plate wearer and it seemed to work. When Arlokk appears (every time) all mana users need to stop all action except a designated pally who would spam heals on the MT AND do any aggro producing cast on arlokk they could to be #1 with mana on the aggro list, after a few heals and a judgement all DPS on arlokk, this should, if done properly, mark the paladin. Because pally heals are low aggro I suggest using Righteous Fury and any judgements the pally can to cause aggro. Because Arlokk wipes aggro after every vanish all mana users need to stop what their doing when she repops and let a non-marked pally cause threat first so they can be marked. It does seem to work it just requires that the mana users be on the ball. If you want to guarantee everyone but a pally getting the mark put your casters in the cages, at the start, and leave the pally in the midddle to heal the MT, because the mark also applies to Arlokk's LoS.
we handle the panthers using by assigning 1 warrior and 1 pally as their designated healer to each cage. at the start of the fight panthers start to spawn and the warriors taunt them onto themselves. this start is crucial, the warriors take more dmg and generate more rage up to a point where they can just spam demoralsing shout every second or so. until this point aggro is fairly loose on the panthers so our OT healer only begins healing once the tank is down to 25%. the beauty of this method is if the warrior is positioned correctly no panther can spawn and not be pulled to the warrior, stealthed or not because they will be effected by the shout. the panthers do minimal dmg so one pally is easily enough to keep a tank up throught the fight even with 20+ panthers per OT. as for the boss herself we only use 1 tank (we only take 3 warriors to ZG generally) and just shield the person who gets aggro during a gouge, this buys enough time for the tank to taunt aggro back to themselves. This works very well for us but that said most of us are almost full epic including rather alot of tier 2 and now AQ40 lewt, but i can see no reason why a lesser equipped raid could not employ this tactic.
Band of Servitude
A real tip I can give ya is this:
When the marked player is announced (CT-Raid Boss mod) have a Pally in the group use Blessing of Sacrifice on the marked player. Then let the Pally heal himself (or have a healer assist him with that...).
The rest just go all out DPS on Arlokk whenever she's there. Let your MT use berserker rage and maybe a ragepot to gain rage quick in the beginning, speed is the key in this fight.
When she vanishes, use all CC-methods you have, fear, frost nova, kite, whatever. Kill the ones who are on your healers...(Anoter tip: if you have warriors to spair, let them use Challeging shout and then use intimidating shout)
Have your warriors stand next to your priests (she goes for them first mostly when she reappears). When she does, let MT aggro her quick and repeat the full DPS thingie.
Don't let her vanish the second time on more then 20% health. You'll be in for a tough fight then. People are dying, healer are low on mana etc...
We have got her to 8% before the second vanish, evethough we are not decked out in MC epics. Then you just have to bite through the tigers and finish her off when she comes back.
Don't get me wrong, it's a tough fight and you'll probably won't life through it with all 20 players breathing, but just keep calm, don't panic and you'll be allright. Often people freak out because of all the adds, but you have to ignore them when Arlokk is there or else you'll never get her down. Heavy DPS is the key. So don't let your mages start AoE'ing in panic. Focus on Arlokk (and after she's gone, focus on the panthers;).
Good luck guys !
My guild uses the fear tactic, on top of it we also use flash bombs(look it up). Also anouther guild on our server uses a destruction spect warlock to use the self damaging aoe, assign a healer to this person, and whenever someone is marked they run to this warlock and stand inside the aoe. Either way you have to keep DPS on the boss at all times when she is visible.
The schematic for the flash bombs can be obtained from a quest in the badlands and the blue pearls can be farmed from the Vile Reef in STV.
Its also best to keep one mage full of mana until the end of the fight and have a priest cast infusion on this mage after the boss is down to clear out the remaining mobs. Yes the panther adds are still there after the boss has been killed.
The way our guild figured out that works for us is to have a Paladin in each cage Consecrating the entire time to tank the Panthers. Everyone except the Paladins and a few Warriors are on the back wall the entire time. When she dissapears the back group AoEs all the remaining panthers, one warrior stands next to each cage and immediantly pulls her back to the main group as soon as she pops. She should be nuked the entire fight. If one of the pallys die you will wipe! So time is of the essence. Have a priest on stand by so if one of the ones healing the pallys go down you can get another one in there. Really if you just keep the pallys up and drop her quickly and she should be easy.
We did it on the second try I believe...Easy. All you do is spam heal the marked person and kill the boss. when she disapears aoe all the panthers.
When she vanishes - keep any one else than MT and OTs with their backs against something.
This will kill off her ability to do the ambush cleave attack in the group, because she wants to do this from your back and will not be able to, therefore she will just attack MT when ambushing or just reappear somewhere randomly.
This makes Arlokk the easiest boss in ZG.
Every goes on about paladins in the fight, Well some of us play on horde you know and tbh shammy are not as good as paladins so what wud be the best thing to do for a horde guild? OT healers get pwned
Wat works for our guild:
we completely ignore all panter spawns. Only kill them when arlok vanishes. Just to thin them out.
Mt only need 1-2 healers (depents on gear)
rest of all healers heal the marked person.
And the rest dps her down asap.
When she vanishes for the second time priest fear the adds around.
This fight should be done asap. imo not really hard.
Key to this battle is NOT killing the panthers. They have an upper limit to their number.
What you do is have two OTs stand at the pens, drink rage potion before the fight and then aggro the panthers with spamming demo-shout and hitting the ones that go for the casters.
Put a Paladin on the OTs for healing while the rest of the group does DPS on Arlokk.
When she disappears, DO NOT kill the panthers which are on the OTs, ONLY kill the panthers which are on the casters.
If you kill the panthers going for the OTs, they will respawn and go for the casters and the person with the mark. Also they will have progressively more hitpoints!
You can easily keep the OTs healed because the panthers do not do a lot of damage. By the time the Boss disappears for the second time, the OTs will likely have all panthers on them and no new ones will spawn. It's pretty easy then, just be sure to let the MT get aggro from Arlokk when she reappears, and have the rogues stand back while she is in Panther form (she cleaves, badly).
And again, DO NOT nuke the panthers which are on the OTs until she is dead. You just make life difficult for yourself.
as long as you keep everyone spread out when she vanishes she wont cleave and kill all of the cloth wearers. my guild wiped multiple times at 50% until we tried this strategy and then we were able to down her without a single death. just keep everyone spread out when she vanishes.
This is actually confusing me a bit, that I see no posts on the way my raid does it
Basically, it is very very very very very simple
1) everyone gather at the gong except one tank (MT) who stands just ahead of the group
2)Ring gong, Tank grabs her, everyone dps's her, while mages take turns Blizzarding the panthers that are at the group, 2 healers heal tank, all other healers Heal the Hellfire lock that is tanking and Killing all the panthers as they come in ((shields, buffs, heals))
3) when she disapears, everyone moves back against the wall, continuing healing the lock, at this point we also use flashbombs and fear the fear the cats a bit to give the group a small break
4) Tank reestablishes agro when she comes back... back to step 2, Rinse repeat
We Kinda came upon this by accident we weren't sure what the fight was going to be like, and Kinda just went with it when everything started. One shotted her the first fight, and Have never had problems after either.
The panthers spawn much slower now. Atleast 50% slower, wouldn't be surprised if it is more.
Was no problem at all to kill her now.
how do you get past her backstab / whirlwind combo wiping half your casters?
killed her and got one of the primal hakkari items and the Bloodsoaked Greaves ... look like shoes of spiderman -.-'
(you cant survive this event, but you can kill her and ressurect with a soulstone)
We had 5 pallies with us but this would work with 4 also.
Have the MT stand in the middle of the room, and 2 pallies in each panther pit near the middle. Put the pallies that are in the pit into the same group on either side. 1 using devotion 1 using concentration auras. Once the panthers are spawned the pallies drop consecration to attract all the panthers. After that the 2 pallies worry about healing themselves inside of the pits. You can have mages come over when she vanishes to do some aoe to remove some of the panthers but it isn't needed.
This was our idea on our 3rd attempt and worked out fine. We had some wipes but were able to down the boss and if your pallies have enough int they will probably not go OOM
Many people have said it's and easy boss (inc our raid leader) yet we have only killed her twice out of ten trys. Trouble is she backstabs kills one of our healers every time she pops back out.
We finally got her down and all she dropped for us was that stupid bag, lame.
We just coordinated our fears (priests and warriors) and kept the panthers running around, while the rest of the raid went full DPS when she wasnt hiding.
Gwinnox - Awoved Crusaders, 60 Rogue on EU Daggerspine
DPS alot from rogues on the boss in all fases
Well, here's the way we at night shift (Al'Akir) do it.
Basicly we consider the fight a mini Razorgore, shamans pop Earthbind totems to cover the entire area. This will slow the panthers a lot.
As soon as you gong go mad DPS on the Priestess by pumping her with melee DPS using Windfury totems and other tricks. She should be at 80% or under when vanishing the first time. Some panthers should already be out but ignore them until she vanishes. The marked one runs around the room in a big superellipse (thats a kind of drawn out circle for you non geomethricians) which enables him to evade the panthers for a maximum amount of time thx to the Earthbinds. Meanwhile all the others sans healers melee down the panthers one by one without wasting mana. Once Arlokk draws close to reappearing you pull em all together via a Frost nova and quickly AoE down em all. This gives a grace time with Arlokk and only roughly 3 or 4 panthers alive. Whack Arlokk like mad. If you keep up enough DPS and shamans keep constant Windfury, Earthbind, Ancient Manaspring/Manatide then you should be able to down her before the next vanish. It's ideal with only one vanish. And It's perfectly doable as long as you keep a high enough DPS.
Most probs with this fight involves ppl not DPSing enough. The longer Arlokk is alive the harder the fight gets. It's probably the hardest fight in Zul'Gurub, well harder than Jin'Do the Hexxer, but with practice and mad DPS sh will go down like a kitten =).
Troll Shaman - Al'Akir
Don't wanna whine, but the last 4 times we've downed Arlokk, 3 times we've got that 18 slot bag :-/ For a fight involving 20 people which is never gonna be that predictable, 2 more inventory slots doesn't seem like just reward :-/
Or maybe I'm just desperate for WoA ;-)
Anywho, we've got this fight going pretty well, with the MT in the centre of the room with the 2 off tanks (warr/druid) ready to grab the panther spawns. Green Whelp Armour on these OTs works very nicely, but failing that, thorns, etc, helps keep them at bay. Assign a priest to each off tank, using long heals and fading every so often. If either of these Priests get marked, swap with a MT healer and go stand by the door as far away from the panthers as possible.
At the start of the fight, we have all ranged around the gong. When Arlokk is there, maximum DPS on her, When she Vanishes, we all spread out around the room so to avoid her cleave when she reappears (although try not to go near the Panthers, especially if you're marked).
We deal with any loose panthers when she vanishes, but we make sure we don't try to kill any panthers that the off tank has agro on, or it tends to get very messy :-/
Maximum DPS on Arlokk is the most important part when she's up, ideally she shouldn't get any more than 2 vanishes in or it makes the fight a lot tougher, as she's difficult to outlast.
That's how we take her out anyway, hope this helps someone =)
we downed this boss really easy: MT on boss of course and everyone heavy dps on the boss as well after 5 sunders
if you are marked...run like hell
the panthers spawn more rapidly as the fight continues so killing them is useless
3 cloth wearers died but the boss was dead in about 4 minutes
shield who gets marked and then have him run around and then kill the boss
mage frost nova works well as well
pls write me a models numbers od the bosses in the Zul'gurub witch their names.
We are a new professional raid group on Earthen Ring server, run by myself and fellow guild members on the side to the Lunar Tiger Knights, this is how the Topless Raiders have managed it:) -thanks to jaxalion for drawing up the plans-
Arlokk dead - click here
Hope this helps:)
p.s we'd like to apologise to the secretive raid groups who keep their tactics under lock and key, not just having the tools, its how you use them.
In my opinion,Arlokk is one of the easier bosses in ZG.Last night my guild tried, and with about 12 first-timers we took her down first try.
Get one warrior in each panther cage, and assign a paladin to keep him alive.I was tanking in one of the cages and the only trouble I had was to take initial aggro, but once I got the panthers on me it was smooth, they don't hit hard at all, even though at one point I had 15+ panthers on me.
The rest of the raid just unload all they've got on Arlokk when she's visible, and fear adds when she's stealthed.
She didn't hit hard on our MT (Well for the record,he has 3 pieces of might + Aegis of the Blood God),and she doesn't have much HP either,so we got her down pretty fast.
Hope it helps :)
We got her down tonight(20th january 06).
We used three tanks, one main tank and 2 offtanks that took care of the adds.
The main tank stood in the middle of the room tanking her. Everybody dpsing her while she was visible.
The off tanks was standing just where the hay began on the sides. If they stood there they took all the aggro from the adds. If that doesn´t work, move them a little bit further up.
You can use frost nova and fear to "controll" the adds if they attack a healer or someone that´s marked. But most adds should be hitting the offtanks.
The rest(exept rogues) was standing at the gong, healing and dpsing her.
Got Will of Arlokk :) HORDCORE FTW! (Sunstrider EU)

We cant seem to get the hang of this fight. those panthers are just too many.
Have 2 druids equip a Green Whelp Armor each - it'll end up looking like this:
Then keep everyone but your 2 druids as far south as they can get (press up against the wall), that way it should end up being the druids that get the mark. It's important that NOONE heals the druids but themselves, otherwise you'll get heal aggro. After that, it's all dps on Arlokk.
Edited, Tue Nov 15 15:32:08 2005
My guild tried to use the strategy Cheiron advocates, and it didn't work out for us. She was too fickle about the mark-- she'd wait too long to mark the druid, and meanwhile we're standing in the panther pits getting chewed up.
We switched to a new strat recently and it worked great for us. We just put a warrior in each pit and have them tank the panthers. With the right equipment the panther damage is trivial. Both Green Whelp armor (yes, on a warrior) and Force of Will make panther DPS laughable. One healer is sufficient to keep up a warrior thusly equipped. If a panther somehow gets away from either warrior, we kill it, and the warrior picks up the new spawn.
Demoralising shout generates stupid aggro against the panthers because it has unlimited targets. If you get every panther with it, the bonus aggro from "area attack" sticks the panthers to the warrior. Use it repeatedly (never let it be down) for best results.
The only tricky thing is that when you use this strategy, the marked person must not go anywhere near the warriors on panther duty. If the marked person goes to the panther pits, the warrior physically cannot save them. In short, keep the whole raid away from those two warriors and you should be fine.
We also noticed that when Arlokk is in panther mode she has a very strong cleave. It really tears up the rogues. We keep them back and have them do ranged attacks until she goes to caster form, then we mug her.
we have the entire raid stand near the gong with the MT in the middle and an OT in each cage, each OT has a shaman healer also putting down stoneskin totem aswell as a priest stood next to the gong crosshealing the 2 tanks and the shamans if they need it.
When a player is marked panthers that spawn go for that player, unless: the player is out of LOS or the mob is aggro'd before it gets to the player. To counter this the marked players stand at the end of the room (not the end with the gong) dead center, here they are out of LOS so no panthers leave the cages.
When the fight starts the MT should pick up the boss and build aggro while the rest of the raid moves to the other side of the room, when they get there nuke, we aim to have the boss at 80% before the first vanish.
When she vanishes i (as a mage have time to twiddle my thumbs and regen some mana) meelee dps usualy goes off and kills some panthers waiting for the boss to come back. When she does come back she opens up with a backstab and likes to one hit our clothies, to counter this while shes vanished all clothies try to stand with there backs to the wall.
When she comes back up just nuke her to hell and the fight is over before you realise it.
If the tank healing shamans or cross healing priest gets marked we usualy just switch them with another raid member (if possible) and then dispatch any panthers they bring with them!
God luck, kill this boss and you can go have fun with hakkar!
- This is sorta like how we did it. Only now as the OT's we just sit in the cages the entire fight keeping the panthers on us. The only time there is AOE is at the end or if there are a bunch of lose panthers. Toughest part is getting the first couple panthers. After that you can spam Demo Shout non-stop. Leave an off healer to keep OT's topped off. All 16 other people should be on Arlokk at all times. Or killing lose adds in between vanishes.
Goes somethin like this: DPS Arlokk till first vanish. mana up and kill lose adds. DPS arlokk when she appears again till 2nd vanish. Mana up and kill adds. DPS Arlokk till dead or 3rd vanish.
After wiping four times, someone in our group suggested a strategy I've never heard (maybe I just haven't seen it yet):
Bring (at least) 3 mages. Have the marked person kite the panthers to one end of the room, have a mage frost nova them in place. After the 8s, the marked person stops and kites them to the other end and another mage drops FN. Rinse and repeat.
You can survive:)
During our 1st successful attempt, yes, we all died and were ressed afterwards, but
During our 2nd full clearing trip = only 2 from 19 people died %)
We had serious problems with this chick until we tried this strategy:
Have EVERYONE excluding the MT and one single druid in the middle of the room, and have everyone else out of LOS
the panther cages; this guarentees the druid will get marked first. Once the druid is marked, everyone can run out into the room and the druid should shapeshift into bear form. This is where Green Whelp Armor will come in handy--the druid will take very little damage from the panthers and will end up putting a crap load of them to sleep. You can survive 4 vanishes or so with this strategy. If you can't kill her in that amount of time, you shouldn't be attempting her. Credit for this strat. actually goes to Nurfed guild, you guys rock >.<
Enjoy the Green Whelp Armor while possible, itll get nerfed badly.
OK, I know everyone loves posting that they killed her and how they're so great and all, but people are not reading this to know of your "greatness". We don't want to know how many people died or how many attempts you took. We want to know how to kill her.
Please post a strategy we can use! Thanks a ton!
Here's how we did it:
- 2 Tanks with Green Whelp Armor(War or Druid) - 2 Paladins to heal one tank each
- Good AOE
First, position the two tanks near the ends of the panther pits, with their paladin healers behind them(not inside the pits). Make sure the main tank is at the back of the raid(away from the gong) as she appears behind you. Send anyone else to go ring the gong and summon her.
At the begining of the fight just dps her down as much as you can. The tanks should do all they can to hold aggro on the panthers, and if any get loose have your dps classes take them out. When she marks someone, make sure they are away from the cages. That way, if one gets loose, you can intercept it before it gets to the marked player.
When she dissapears, have ALL your cloth and leather users get their backs to the walls/cages. She will only appear BEHIND someone, so since she can't path to them she will cleave one of the plate users, who are perfectly capable of handling the damage(It can 1-shot us clothies and kill any leather wearers not at a good amount of hp). The just go back to dps and wear her down. If you do it this way, at most only 1-2 people should die and then only because of stray panthers.
Once she goes down, aoe the panthers down hard and fast, as they can easilly wipe the party if you slack off just because you killed her.If you can't get her down after she vanishes 4 times, then you will likely be oom and need to gear your healers up a bit more to deal with this rather long battle.

Have everyone in your group gather by the gong which is used to summon the boss. She will appear in the center of the room. Position the main tank in the center of the room where she spawns. After a few seconds she marks 1, usually 2 people in your group (completely random, can't do anything to select who she marks). Keep the marked people alive, as all the 40 panthers which spawn will be on the marked teamates. Do not waste any dps on the panthers. Use all types of fear, flash bombs, frost nova can help to keep the kitties in place, and green whelp armor helps a lot to reduce the damage your marked teamates are taking. The boss dissapears so it is important for all dps to be on her whenever she is out and the main tank has agro. You want to get the boss down in 3 or 4 dissapears, any longer of a fight you probably won't last.
Things that worked for us:
1. Not wasting valuable dps on panthers, heal the marked teamates and save the dps for the boss.
2. Get her down fast, you won't be able to sustain the fight long. Kill her in 3 or 4 vanishes.
3. Minimize the damage that your marked teamates are taking, AOE fear on a rotation, flash bombs, demoralizing shout, blessing of sanctuary/stoneskin totem, (frost nova is okay too to lock them in place for a bit, so the marked teamates can step away for a break), and ofcourse our favorite if your teamates can wear Green Whelp Armor, do it. Hopefully you will see many ZzZzZz-ing nice kitties.
4. Keep your team except the main tank in the gong room, so when the boss appears hopefully your tank can pull her away from everyone and establish agro when she appears. She has a nasty whurlwind which can 1 shot a lot of your softer teamates.
5. Gift of Arthas potion for the main tank, infects the boss to increase damage taken by 8. You need to get her down fast, and this does miracles, reasoably priced in the AH too.
6. This is kinda hard but try and have your dps get her down as much as you can before her first vanish. It's hard not to pull agro off the main tank in the beginning, but you really need to put it on her with the quickness or the end of the fight won't be easy. 90% is good, desireably get her to 75% before her first vanish, and do 25% each time she pops out and you should be on a good pace.
7. Bandaid yourself, the healers have too much work to do keeping the marked teamates up and a main tank. Use them when appropriate.
8. Don't get discouraged if a strategey you try doesn't work, be determined, repair if you have to and go back. Experiment to find out what works best for you. Don't give up, it's not an easy fight.
Things that didn't work for us:
1. Killing the panthers seemed like a waste of mana because they respawn anyway. It seems that they cap at 40 panthers. We would rather heal the marked teamates, than waste our dps mana on them. It is possible to kill the panthers and win, but I suggest against it. DO NOT KILL ANY PANTHERS WHEN THE BOSS IS OUT, OR ELSE THEY RESPAWN AS ELITES!
2. We tried forcing the boss to mark teamates by hiding the rest of the group behind the pens. It does not work, SHE RANDOMLY SELECTS WHO WILL GET MARKED, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Cross your fingers and hope it's a druid or plate wearer.
3. Have warriors take agro from the panthers as they spawn. This does not work, the marked targets is all that the panthers will go after, yes you can taunt a panther or two off your marked teamate for a few seconds, but it's pointless as they quickly reattach themselves to the marked teamates regardless of your efforts. YOU CAN NOT PULL THE PANTHERS OFF THE MARKED TARGETS. Demoralizing shout, Sanctuary, Flash Bombs and AOE fear rotation, is your only real way to help minimize the damage your marked teamates are taking.
4. Have your softer teamates against the wall so she won't appear behind you and whurlwind your softies. THIS DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. SHE CAN APPEAR ANYWHERE AND YOU CAN'T CONTROLL IT. Have warriors to be ready to taunt and bring to the main tank as soon as she spawns (she ussually spawns outside of the gong area, but can spawn very close!). Main tank must establish agro quickly so dps can move in as fast as they can. All warriors be on your toes, ready to taunt and pass off to the main tank.
5. Make sure you let everyone know you are starting the event. And warn people not to touch the gong prematurely.
As we fight this boss more and more, I will amend this strategey. If there is a mistake in it let me know, or if you would like me to add a note or change something post a reply.

We got her down on the 5th (or so try) and yes we all did die and were rezzed after the fight but well worth it.
Is it just me, or is she really hot. I love the rack in that dress. I would so tap that.
One very simple way to deal with the adds in this encounteris to have 2 people assigned to tank them at either place where the panthers come out of. A warrior is best, but a paladin with consecration can do the job just fine too. Just have them there the whole encounter and heal them, they don't take too much damage and you can forget about the panther adds.
