I have to say it's embarrassing how many thousands of gold I've made simply selling Luminous Flux.
Well each character you get to 60 will net you 2k gold a day if you do callings, plus the augment runes sell for ~1200g each and you get 4 at a time from the table. Also, I don't see the point of fighting other lego crafters when you can just make bags that instantly sell during any busy time of the day.
Yeah. Put flasks to AH for 695 gold. Than wait till reset. If one or two people do this the reseter can handle it. But after such an article, if everyone start doing it, there will be no one who is stupid enought to spend tons of gold to reset the market. The people who start the reset is wearing the risk. After a nice reset he has about 1 hour (with small luck) to sell flasks before prices start to fall back. Than it's about 3-4 hours and the flask price is lower, than it isn'tworth to sell for him te more expensive pieces he bought. So if someone has to buy 1-2000 pieces to reset they simply won't do it. This behavior (and also the tip) is good only for maximize the price on 695. Is it good for traders? I don't think so.
The prospecting "trick" has been a thing for a few weeks now. Laestrite is the best source for everything as the zone ores have a terrible rate on essences. I do 10-25k at a time, stock on essences, sell off a little excess. With the uncut gems, until now I've been just selling the stacks to a vendor as a full stack goes for 500g. Have tons of stocks of uncut gems regardless and I sell all four higher cuts. Have had 2000 cluster sales in about 8 weeks, at about 70k gold total. Pretty decent stuff.
So i have been following a very simple and lazy gold-making process for a long time now. I'm not into big volume or sniping, cancel scanning, etc. Largely I just play the game and harvest whatever materials I come accross. Start of expansion is always the best for this, as material prices are sky high over the first month and IMO it's easier/cheaper to level professions later when basic materials are more saturated. Laesrite ore is a perfect example. I was selling it for 20-25g apiece for the first few weeks, and now it's less than 1g on my server. I know crafting margins can be really good too, but I'd rather be playing all the new content than scheming and sitting in Oribos crafting when content is fresh. Like I said, it's a lazy method, but it's been more than enough to earn me a substantial profit over the first 3 months of Shadowlands.Fishing is another thing that makes huge money, even today. Most fish are selling for 50-90g on my server even this weekend. Which makes crafting Feasts somewhat risky, even though the meat prices have bottomed out, except for Tenebrous Ribs for some reason. The different baits you can use make the drop chance in regular water slightly better than 50% so it's something you can do while watching a Stream/Netflix/etc, not that I did this a whole lot. But it was a nice way to wind down on some evenings when the house was quiet and I didn't feel up to tackling any of the grinds that are tied to progression.Lastly, I was super-lucky to be raiding in Legion, and I got the Blacksmithing mount recipe for Steelbound Harness, and man did I sell a few of those! Farming the Blood of Sargeras (which are BoP) is a pain, but otherwise the material costs are relatively cheap. I had been saving up the Bloods for months before SL dropped and still managed to run out before Christmas, despite going out to do Legion WQ's that rewarded them and also do the Legion Table missions that give you 12. Fortunately my Vindicator Boros has all the bonus items to give me Resources for each WQ completion, so I haven't run out there either. I must have sold 2 mounts a week, on average, and never sold them for less than 50k (and often close to 60k) just by posting them on the AH. There is maybe 1 or two other people I have to compete with, but by reposting morning and evening I think I got the lion's share of the sales. All these lazy tricks combined netted me 2.25 mil from the week before SL launch to today. That's all from 1 level 60 with Mining/Blacksmithing, plus Fishing/Cooking (not that I really made anything off cooking), and no Brutosaur so I used a Bank Alt. That's enough for 18 months of game time, assuming a 120k Token price, which is a reasonable average given recent prices. Not bad for a lazy approach if you ask me!
