Ten years later and still so much salt about it....As someone who has played since 2006 and was getting tired of running through the same zones, I thought the world revamp was really cool, and balsy. Not many studios would have the guts to take a risk and redesign the game world of a product at the height of its popularity.
Hm cata wasnt the worst for me, i liked the raids. Actually bfa was worse just cause i hated corruptions and azerite power grinds for what.
We need another world revamp. We've been living in Cataclysm Azeroth longer then in OG Azeroth now.
Aside from Cataclysm's glaring faults (Dragon Soul, DS lasting 9 months, old Azeroth redesign), it was a great expansion otherwise. The raids were great, the dungeons were great, the gear was great, the leveling zones were great. And though most cite MoP as being best for class mechanics, I think they truly peaked during Cataclysm. MoP just took Cata's class mechanic design and simplified it (with the exception of warlocks). The Cata pre-patch and the ptr for it were the most fun I've ever had playing this game. Great memories.
So you can't so any of the scarlet crusade questline anymore?
RIP Ten Thousand Needles and the Shimmering Flats.
10 years ago Activision %^&*ed over Blizzard
I loved Cataclysm and the classic regions redesign. Didn't enjoy killing Deathwing tho. I liked Neltharion and felt sorry for him being corrupted by the Old Gods. BUT. I still hate what they did to Auberdine.
Worst expansion imo. I remember I dropped wow til latest pandaria patches...
How many Wow-Classic-players does it take to change a lightbulb?Answer: None. They'd rather sit in dark talking about how good the old one was...Some are still salty about Cata. I wonder why they kept on playing...?
"Waaah, it ruined the game, waaah..." Please. If it REALLY ruined the game for you guys, you wouldn't be playing it today. IMO, Cata was a decent expansion... they just focused too much on revamping the vanilla zones, rather than making endgame content.
I'm going against the grain, but I loved Cata. At the time we had been doing Wrath for close to three years. The change was desperately needed. But looking back, it was great to be part of such a big shake up. It really upped the stakes made you feel invested in Azeroth. Lorewise it is easier to believe an previously hidden corner of a continent has been revealed as opposed to an entire landmass or an island that's now a subcontinent. The changes to the old world weren't flashy but needed. Maybe others liked hoofing it down Darkshore without a flight point or slogging across the Wetlands with only Menethil Harbor as an inn, but I found it refreshing to get around and all points in between.
I can't find the undo button :c
