"We are also one of the more durable healers in terms of our mobility and strong personal defensive cooldowns."This won't help keep others in your party or raid alive, you may survive but everyone else?Literally, almost anything else is going to play better in raids and M+
I love MW monk but hate fistweaving sigh
I too love MW monk but hate fistweaving. I used to play Holy Pally as main since LK but in BFA when the glimmer build became the defacto go to build for Holy Pally I switched to Holy Priest. I am just not a fan of having to DPS at the same time as healing to maximize output. I get it that not all healing specs can be the same, I'm not complaining just wish that there was a way to have a DPS/healing style of play with a strict healing style in Monk and Pally that were both equally viable. But hey kodo poo in one hand and want in another hand, which one piles up faster?
MW is my main, and I don't play fistweaver. I did really well, and topped the charts most times without it. I hate that we're shoved into the fistweaving playstyle and it's not really a choice anymore. I think it may be time to pick another class
Awesome write up. I've been testing all three monk specs on all 4 covs since getting beta. It has been a roller coaster of a ride.

So assuming I'd want the Sludgefist legendary, what would be the best course of action? Get another legendary first and craft the Sludgefist one as a second legendary later on or do I just wait until I get the Sludgefist legendary and save up all Soul Ash up until that point? The last option would mean that I don't have a leggo for the first 3 weeks.
I main Monk, playing healing healing spec, I hate the flavour of fistweaving, I will stick with another style, definitely won't touch fistweaver style
Why do people complain about fistweaving when a non-fistweaving build is equally viable in raids? In regards to it being slightly superior in m+, keep in mind that that's more due to the core concept of m+, not the specs.
I'm actually the opposite of all the other comments: i love fistweaving and don't really like upwell healing. I'm just glad fistweaving is still gettin some lovin while also leaving another viable option for people who prefer not to fistweave.
If it already wasn't clear from other comments, you are not "forced" to fistweave at all. You can have a build that's completely viable in raids without any healing coming from fistweaving. For m+ though, there hasn't been a single healing spec in the game that's considered good while "just healing", it's nice to have the option to fistweave in there.
I remember the days when mistweaver had a hidden aura that made them very unlikely to be targeted by ranged mechanics. They should bring that back.
As of Jan. 1, 2021; Is the above information about the MW Monk covenant choices still good information?
Don't even bother playing a MW. I rerolled after playing one since MoP and they're completely useless in this expansion compared to other healers which bring more useful things to raids.
