remember when Ion said in his interview with sloot that they might have to reduce the amount of loot drops in general ? I guess this goes hand in handI do not usually do m+ other than the minimum to get the weekly chest so this change will not really affect me much , but i am interested to hear from those who do M+ constantly about what incentives they have now to keep running them ? other than obviously that they find it fun
well. congratz. you actually found a way to make m+ irrelevant. you made whole esport scene on m+ and now theres not a single reason to do m+ after first heroic guild clear. clap clap
IM SO DONE WITH BLIZZARD..WHAT TYPE OF DECISIONS ARE U MAKING IN THE HQ? WAHT TYPE OF MEETINGS U GUYS HOLD OVER THERE?PATETHIC
First off, we have to remember this was datamined and not officially signed off by blizzard. Not saying it won't be, but this could just as easily be a mistake or something they haven't updated yet. But we'll see. I think how this is going to impact players has a lot to do with how blizzard balances main stats and secondary stats this expansion. I haven't done any theorycrafting or looked at any done by others, but the difference is only 3 item levels. I know item level is condensed in SL and a difference of 3 item levels seems to be the BFA equivalent of 5 item levels, but I don't think we will know that officially until the numbers are crunched and we can sim. Also, regarding stat weights, I still think it's going to be the case that a piece of 210 gear with your characters best stats will be better than a 213 piece of gear that has bad stats. For example, before corruption ruled everything, I would happily wear a piece of 455 gear with bis stats from a dungeon over a 460 piece of gear with bad stats from a heroic raid. Of course those would all go away once I started gearing up in mythic or got better loot from the weekly chest. Or in other words, I honestly don't see this update changing what gear we'll wear or choose to farm if raids still offer gear with bad stats for our characters like they do now. Also, if Blizzard introduce one-off pieces of gear that are going to be BIS regardless of item level like they did in BFA (ie, mechagon bracers for mage), then these three ilvls won't mean that much. In this scenario, a 210 bis piece of gear will still likely hold up in mythic raiding or the high keys (to an extent) as a 455 piece would in BFA. Obviously, there just depends on if Blizzard put gear that is that powerful in dungeons, so we'll see.
THIS CHANGES SUCKS. Why would you ever do a Mythic plus when you can get all the gear from a HC ? M plus becames useless now with this update (and M+ is full poppular but for some reason blizzard hates it)
That's gonna be a big yikes from me dawg.

I do both raiding and M+ pushing and I like both.I feel for any high M+ pushing is a bit unfair tho, I believe that the loot system should scale up higher which is for those exceptional M+ pushers, however it shouldn't gear you very quickly either by spamming. So a system such as the Visions, I think would work pretty well. e.g. (ranges not fully thought just as an example)+24 - drops ilvl226 - first time (weekly) and fall back to the next drop ilvl 220 if repeated - cap ilvl210 if repeated again+20-23 - drops ilvl220 +15-19 - drops ilvl210 (cap)The key thing is allow higher ilvl drops by doing even more hardcore as M+ content whilst not allowing to gear up very quickly by spamming either
Okay, I feel like there's more negativity in this thread than there should be, with no solid arguments as to why it's a bad change. It's actually a good change in my opinion as it will put all gearing paths closer to each other. In BFA M+ was the easiest and quickest way to get end game gear by far compared to raids and PvP.
This is really good. I don't think that mythic plus should invalidate raid loot, especially heroic and mythic. I think they should lower weekly piece of loot to be 3 ilvl below mythic raid loot as well. This is a change in right direction, raiding should be the ultimate form of gearing up as its always been
Doing mostly the same dungeons for two years is dumb already, that is not much better content than if it were a raid. This makes hc much more a part of the game, especially with how loot works with no RNG warforging, thankfully. These look like overall good changes to hc raiding guilds. This will narrow guild gaps at the hc level, and brings hc raids back more like what they were. Going up the ladder will require more skill, a wider variety of activities, raid progression, and less M+ RNG.I do believe this change is more inline with master loot, bring that back as an option.
I like this change, mythic+ being basically unlimited source of gear was bad design as it was superior to raiding, which is supposed to be the top tier WOW endgame, requiring not just gear and skill as mythic+, but also cooperation of 20 people in mythic and more complex boss mechanics in raids compared to dungeons. This change actually fits the theme of Shadowlands, which is to have as less mandatory content as possible and allow people have fun with what they want to do, not what they have to do.
This kills M+, which was the only end game content I enjoyed, and therefore did.
Heroic raid is way too easy. Only Eternal palace had some decent HC difficullty. 20man hc raid after 3-4hs it is (10bosses×4items)/20people. M+ is maximum 5-6h per week for someone who plays raids, M+ and pvp(6dungeons×1item)/5people. -> it should be same item lvl.Gap between Mythic and Heroic raid is problem.Prove me wrong pleaseeeee and give me proof that you ever completed +15 in time in first month without getting boosted. Also now you have same chest for all types of content, so dont %^&* talk on M+ if you dont have to do it anymore. Thanks.
