That's a weird troll intro given that the new character customizations let you create trolls from other tribes.
I'm okay with pretty much every change except the last bit for undeads and last bit for Blood elves about Azeroth. The PCs generally care about Azeroth whether they are blood elves, undeads or trolls. But I would not say that to sum up a whole race. It definitely doesn't fit the whole blood elf race imo. And undeads tirelessly strive to protect the living is way too far. Sure some of the undeads probably do, but I would not say all, it doesnt fit this race at all. At least there is still time to give our feedback. And if they won't, it's no big deal. It's just a 2 lines intro. I hope they do change that tho. They need to tune down the 'every race is protecting and cares about Azeroth" a bit. It's a bit too.. Disney, if I may.
So much whining! lolGlad to see they're updating things. It's been a decade since the last major overhaul. Looking forward to SL as a Hordie!
why are so many whining about the undead's "protect the living" line? What, you think no undead players fought against the legion, or were chosen to be the "champion of azeroth" and all that? Geez people lol
Though shunned by the living, you tirelessly strive to protect themWhats wrong with this? There were many undeads fighting against legion to protect azeroth? They're protecting other horde races. Undeads are part of third faction or something? They are part of horde and they are protecting horde.
Perhaps the remaining Forsaken decided they wanted to continue protecting the faction that has sheltered them since they joined the Horde. Returning to the Alliance is not really an option, and after the events of BfA they can't go it alone because their numbers are diminished. They're choosing to believe in the Horde as the one thing they have left to them. Sylvanas abandoned and betrayed them, they've lost Lordaeron… what else remains?
It really blows my mind what this community turns into a controversy.
I'm sort of confused over the controversy around all this. The BElf, Tauren, and Goblin ones are fairly accurate and not really changing much. The Orc one is comparative, and not totally objective. The modern Horde is significantly less bloodthirsty than those under the Blood Curse, or those of Rend's False Horde. They're probably still a rather savage people, but not exactly mindlessly bloodthirsty. The Undead one, about protecting the living is probably less in a "standing at the door of the home of the living and keeping the bad guys out" way, and more of a "the player character does things like killing N'Zoth and stopping The Legion, which is for the benefit of everyone, especially the living" way. It'd probably be better off being reworded to be more about tirelessly striving to protect a future with both of them in it, than their actions specifically being to protect the living. The Troll one is accurate, since the Darkspear are still rather tribalistic, but not in a way that's really "savage", since they're not doing things like what The Drakarri did to their Loa. The worst part of this one is probably how the word "savage" is used to refer to doing awful genuinely bad voodoo things, since the franchise has kind of ingrained that word to be more like how the Mag'har are "savage", than cannibal murderers of their own gods sort of "savage". It'd probably be fine if you just changed savage for a different word.Honestly the worst part of all of these is how oversimplified and broad the descriptions feel. I'm not really sure I'd learn a whole lot about the races if I were a new player reading these.
Sylvanas should have never been written off the Horde until they were ready to add more playable factions.
New forsaken after Slyvannas left lol.
I for one would like to know more about thirsty orcs.
Sylvannas supporters (NPC's) aren't the Champions of Azeroth (Players). In general. I fully supported the massacre but most of my brethren were honorable and did not.
The undead one is awful. While I'm fine with updating things for a post-Sylvanas world, at no point have the Forsaken every been about "striving to protect" the living. I'd much prefer it talk about any of the following: using your second-chance at life, repaying debts to your allies, finding your place in the world, discovering meaning in your existence. You know, something that plays on the actual themes of the Forsaken (no matter how much they've been overshadowed since Cataclysm).
Lol looks like Blizzard is pulling a Japan History and just straight up ignore all the worst parts of their history thanks for kicking the Horde in nethers even more Blizz I wonder what kind of useless hacks you have working there.
TERRIBLE CHANGES.

Who signs up as an Undead or Orc wanting peace and rainbows? This is awful writing.
