So that means raid lock sharing on alts is a go?Welp, time to park my alts in front of the firelands portal. Can't wait till dragon soul is finally given the TW treatment so we can skip Spine
I would love to know how many people actually do the Timewalking raids... Is it worth changing content that has been in the game for years for this?
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Last week I just got the mount... uffafter they f the drops on ulduar, I'm gonna work more on Throne of Thunder to finish the sets
They really love killing soloing and transmog runs don't they?
You always get the 25 man loot table for Legacy Loot (just like all the WoD raids, etc), so it's actually much better now for transmog farming than before the patch. The article makes it seem like the opposite.
It's misleading to state this without including that as it's effected by Legacy Loot, solo players will not be seeing "1-player attendance" worth of loot. Loot drops for transmog farmers will be the same as before the patch.
Flex was the worst thing invented after LFR.Way to make it even worse as mog farmers.
And I like I mentioned on the forums saying that this was going happen: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/plea-to-blizzard-about-firelands-timewalking/237137The flex modes (to fit with timewalking) operate on the premise that the minimum amount of people in raid will be 10. And thus when you go in there solo outside of timewalking you only get loot fitting for 10 people. Completely makes me mad that I said to them to not do this and to see replies in that thread stating I was wrong. So for all of us that have nearly exhausted one of the difficulties (heroic in my situation) it becomes more difficult to get the remaining pieces from heroic and it creates a tedious grind to gather the normal appearances that were supposed to drop as much as heroic (provided you do 25 man for both modes). At this point I have just given up on caring, the times I choose to do transmog during wow and life’s downtimes get harder and harder as time passes on with all these barrier you have to get past. And yes I am well aware of what the article states that the raid will behave as if it had the prior amount of people in it. But in my experience it traditionally treated the volume of loot as if it were the lower bound of the raid attendance. Not to mention for the longest time there were other older raids during Legion at level 110 (SoO for example and during 2017) that when you zoned in it created a 1 person raid for yourself. Being in that one 1 person raid if you didn’t pay attention would force you into the personal loot system and deny you access to the full volume of loot that could drop (even before the legacy loot implementation of 7.3.5, and the forced personal loot for all levels of 7.3.0).I’d rather they didn’t at all touch what had existed for years (yes to allowing to run both normal and heroic in the same week), and instead create an entirely separate difficulty mode away from the prior 4. Thus there would be no ambiguity in if things are dropping properly.
I knew I should have farmed transmog earlier. Gah.
It’s a flex raid. It works from 10-30. Nowhere does it state that it operates and is designed around 25 people like LFR does. Legacy LFR (25), mythic, prior 10 man, 25 man, 40 man will drop their prior loot volumes as before.Yes it should drop 25 given the 2 of the prior difficulties were 25 man (25N and 25H). However according to https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20761866700It states that flex raids (10-30 man, which is what firelands is now) should drop 20 people’s (that’s ok because it is an average) worth of loot (and then provides LFR as example, which oddly enough is designed around 25 people, and thus the blue’s example is even wrong itself). So if the blue’s example of treating legacy LFRs loot volume to be 20 man and not 25, that states there is already a problem. But if it does indeed drop 20 people’s worth of loot that is still not enough because 2 of the difficulties were 25 man. And even then on top of that from my prior experience going into the raids freshly after they were changed and getting fewer pieces (1-2 less) than before and hearing other people’s complaints (particularly about Ulduar and the Val’anyr fragments), that is where I get my source of concern about firelands during 8.2.5 PTR.This time I am pretty sure I have saved a few screen shots of me doing firelands recently, so I will test it out myself tonight.
seems like a lot of drama over something that is really more of a benefit to TMog and gold farmers.to sum up the rest of the replies in this thread:-The 25m raid dropped loot equivalent for 25 people-Now you can run it in 20m heroic and 20m normal-1x runthrough will give loot equlivalent to 20people, so loot is -20% per run-now you can run the raid 2x times however, ending up with much more loot for a bit more time invested-now you can also get 2x chances at the mountsAll-in-all this seems like a really GOOD change IMO, especially since we now get to actually raid this old content during timewalking, which is one of my favorite raids of all time!I haven't been able to notice any difference in loot quantity dropped personally, and I am definitely happy to run this twice a week now for the mounts and finishing out my TMog sets on my alts (have plate complete, but still need leather!).
