I guess the tradeoff for those who already own retail is they'll be doing the anniversary events which need 120 don't they? Not 100% sure.
While I'm usually quite cynical about latest Blizzard decisions, I consider this is a good move, and surprisingly, no side lose. But I guess there will always be critics, no matter what.
Having played retail for last 12/13 years, loving playing both classic and retail at the moment. Thought this was a great idea when I saw it. If people who haven't played retail for a loong time have come back for classic and once they reach 60 and clear everything then they'll have the free opportunity to venture into retail.
Awesome promotion!
if this is able to be a boost for someone that already has bfa then i'll actually have a reason to do classic.
If this is true, then it's a very nice move from Blizzard.
I think it has always been the plan to (re)gain players for Retail/Live via Classic. After all, if you play Classic, you have basic access to Retail anyways. Players who haven't played since MOP, WOD or maybe even earlier might just take a look if it's free with hitting 60 in Classic anyways. Also keep in mind 8.2.5 brings new ways to group people for quests, which also further helps Classic players who might want to take a look at BfA and catch up with friends already in there.Last but not least there was an interview not too long ago where (I think it was Ion) somebody said, Retail and Classic won't compete in terms of new content and rather do step by step content updates. So if new stuff for Retail gets released, they are holding back with Classic. If Classic gets a new phase unlocked, there won't be a major (or .5) patch for Retail. This assures people aren't pressured to decide whether they should check out the next Classic phase or the next content patch for Retail, if both were to be released within a small timeframe.I don't think this is a bad move and is good for everyone.
The post has been deleted. It is very likely a mistake. The post also lacked an accompanying image, which they all have.
Shame, my brother just paid for BFA :/
I hope this counts for people that already had BFA aswell. I'd like a free boost :D
If it were just the boost I'd shrug by you get the expansion too? That's interesting. Obviously it's not intended for anyone who already played BfA.
i like this idea.
I'm puzzled again.Free stuff > bad.Paid stuff > bad.Anything good nowadays? For me both BfA and Vanilla are okay.Paid mounts and stuff > absolutely neutral.Free stuff always welcomed :)
