While not the same as the DPS role, it is important to know how you want to use your cooldowns and what kind of situations you can use them most efficiently. You aren’t necessarily going for the “get the most, efficient” uses out of your cooldowns like you might find for a DPS’s priority, but making sure you have the CDs when you need them.
- 还魂术 - Starting with the longest cooldown at 3 minutes, how you utilize 还魂术 can be important on a dungeon to dungeon basis. While running the 起死回生 trait assists with managing this CD, it does not net you a get out of jail free card.
- 还魂术 should generally be combo’d with an on use trinket, such as 远古智慧之结, when using it to top the group, as it will significantly improve the cooldown’s output. Sometimes 还魂术 can be used in more clutch situations outside of group throughput, like being able to use it to dispel multiple people in the group. It’s important to be aware of what mob types you are fighting or boss encounters you are approaching in order to make sure you have 还魂术 up in order to utilize this mass dispel function to its full extent.
- 作茧缚命 - While rather weak as a tank external, 作茧缚命 still has its place as a tool to be used in the Mistweaver’s kit. This ability will place a large absorb on the target and incresae healing over time effects by 40% while the shield persists. You can often look to use 作茧缚命 on DPS that pull threat or get targeted by a lethal single target damage mechanic, such as Jagged Nettles or Severing Axe. It’s important to communicate with your tank if they are going to want 作茧缚命 for a certain pull or encounter, or have some previous experience knowing when they will want it so you can plan your use of this cooldown throughout a dungeon, although there may be some discretion to using it for panic moments.
- 雷光聚神茶 - Sporting a 30 second cooldown, you will find yourself using this ability quite often, but it is important to understand how you are utilizing it. When used in tandem with the 雷光凝聚 talent, this ability packs a lot of value in its short cooldown. With the volatility that exists in dungeon content, you will often find yourself using both charges of your 雷光聚神茶 in a medley of ways. If you need spot healing, 氤氲之雾 is your go-to. If you want to set up burst group healing for 活血术, utilizing the extended duration on 复苏之雾 from this ability will get you there. If you are looking for a break on mana, empowered Vivifies are the solution. And if there’s nothing to heal and you want to help DPS, the shortened cooldown on 旭日东升踢 does the trick.
- In higher keys, you will often find yourself utilizing the empowered Vivifies far more frequently to ease mana consumption. In this regard, you can also get very efficient uses of 生生不息 here, such that you use the first charge of 雷光聚神茶 on a free 活血术, and then the second charge can be used for a reduced cost, empowered 氤氲之雾, followed by a reduced cost 活血术. Try to avoid using the first charge of 雷光聚神茶 on 氤氲之雾 if you are going to use the second charge on 活血术, as to not lose the value of 生生不息.
The trash that you will end up doing for 莱赞
can vary. During 强韧
weeks, groups will generally pull the first two packs on the left and utilize 嗜血
here, then do 莱赞
after. During 残暴
weeks, some groups opt to not pull the left side at all, rushing to 莱赞
and then doing a mix of 剧毒细颚龙
packs and 飨宴的啸天龙
s immediately after.
- On the left side, sometimes referred to as “human side,” you will encounter a mix of 达萨莱荣誉卫士s, 达萨莱战神s, 达萨莱神官s, and 达萨莱占卜师s.
- One of the most important mobs to pay attention to in this pack is the 达萨莱神官. This mob has some extremely important casts to interrupt with 邦桑迪的帷幕 and 愈合真言. 邦桑迪的帷幕, if not interrupted, will put an AoE bubble around enemies, which causes all affected enemies to be immune to crowd control effects. This immunity can make dealing with the rest of the mobs much more difficult and can often result in a wipe. 愈合真言 will heal a mob for 30% of its max HP, which can be extremely inconvenient, as these packs are often a race against the limited CC and interrupts present in your party.
- 达萨莱战神s will charge to players at range with 暴戾突袭, dealing heavy damage if not dodged. If you are baiting out these charges, make sure you are prepared to move away quickly with 滚地翻 or 迅如猛虎. The 达萨莱占卜师s should generally be focused down and have two deadly casts, 野火 and 火焰附魔, the latter of which will buff 达萨莱战神s. It is extremely important to stop 火焰附魔 with CC or kicks, as it is quite hard to dodge for melee and makes killing these track packs more difficult. The 野火 cast will also begin to hurt if freely casted on the entire party, as you only have one dispel and a 还魂术 to deal with uninterrupted 野火 casts, so be sure to utilize spare kicks on this ability.
- For the 剧毒细颚龙 packs, make sure to not be stacked on top of your party, as their 腾跃猛击 ability will cleave all targets within 3 yds. Have burst healing ready with 精华之泉 and 复苏之雾s, and make sure to watch out for the 剧毒细颚龙s having a preference for a single party member. Utilize 扫堂腿 to allow yourself to catch up on healing, and let your party know if you’re going to use 平心之环, as this will stop the mobs from finishing their leap, thus negating the damage. When pulling with 飨宴的啸天龙s, be sure the party has kicks ready for the 惊骇尖啸, otherwise you will probably get stomped down by the Saurids while feared. If there are no kicks available, you can try to line of sight the fear cast and 还魂术 your party’s fear debuffs off (Note: You can jump off out of line and use 魂体双分 to get back up to line in this manner, depending on where you are fighting the Skyscreamers.)
