NOT SINDRAGOSA. "Your pathetic magic betraaaays you!"Probably my favorite encounters would have to be Algalon in Ulduar and Jin'do in original Zul'Gurub.
C'thun'Hey, name of new guildie, run into the room first'priceless

Depends, really-- I think everyone has a favourite encounter from every expansion and so forth. Chess event in Kara was my BC <3 because... well, it was freakin' chess, y'know? Nothing like nearly dying to a cheating Medivh, and failure at chess was the ultimate in l2play.For Wrath, it was probably Yogg-Saron, because he was just such an ass, especially with the way his encounter worked if you were going for achievements or anything-- also, being told to walk in a circle around a room that is square will forever live in my head as the stupidest thing I've ever heard.And for Cataclysm, so far, I love Cho'gall, because he has the most going on, and the tentacle eyes and such remind me of the Yogg Saron fight as much as it can being a different encounter to a degree. Nothing says love like rocket jumping to the back of the room to aoe some slimes, amirite?
NIce that u chose Chess Event as an example, cause thats my choice! Always waited for that part in our Kara raids and I really miss it :)
It was unique, it was infuriating, it was a guild breaker, it's still my favourite fight despite it's relative ease nowadays. It's Vaelastrasz the Corrupt!Of course, I have other favourites. From more recent raids, Lord Marrowgar and his BOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE STOOOOOOOOOOOOOORMFrom BC, I do so adore coming up against Talon King Ikiss and his triiiinkets~
I would have to say my favorite is Shadow Fang Keep the Battle with Lord Godfrey as it holds a special place in my heart it was the first major 5 man I tanked as main tank, so its special not to mention it was just good fun.
I'm gonna say Hogger in the Stormwind Stockades... first one that came to mind as an easy tank-n-spank and was fun getting to it back when I was a hordie :-/
Twin Emperors.Sure, it was a pain in the butt to get the timing & tanking down right, but once you got the patterns set, and your group was working like clockwork, it was a beautiful thing.
I've kind of love Arugal, yes, before Cata. <.<'He was probably the first hard boss I encountered. He even killed my beast of a turtle one time. ;.;Remembered more: I hated his teleports, and to make it worse, he killed the tank, so I had to tank through my turtle. But, he then changed me into a worgen and forced me to maul my turtle, Murktusk to death, then chew out the healer. ;.;
I would have to say that my favorite encounter out of all raids and instance would have to be Opera in Karazhan! Opera was awesome, you never knew which fight you had to face. Would it be little red riding hood? Oz? Romeo and Juliet? You just didn't know, that's what made it so special. Every fight in the Opera event was fun in its own way. Watching people run around like a maniac when they get turned in to red riding hood was always a good laugh. Flying in the cyclones in the Oz fight was fun for resto druids as it didn't stop them from healing while having fun flying. All this makes this my favorite encounter in the World of Warcraft.
Definitely my first time in Heroic Slave Pens. Rockmar's bleed was such a pain for fresh 70's. It was totally worth it seeing that huge lobster fall.
My favorite fight by far is the Lich King. The dramatic end to a story that was started in Warcraft 3, we finally get to deal with the traitor prince that shook Azeroth to it's core. Out of every Warcraft villain so far, none have been as involved or as satisfying as seeing the Lich King go down. If you've been playing Warcraft since it's beginning, in the Warcraft 1/2 days, and seeing your beloved Lordaeron fall to it's own royalty, or a new player in Wrath of the Lich King, seeing the man who raised your Death Knight - then betray it, go down hard was a fulfilling experience.I doubt we'll ever see another a boss so entrenched in lore as Arthas was, in both his Human, Orc, and mixed forms.And then that's not even mentioning the boss fight it's self, which was an amazing and enjoyable fight. I know when my guild finally got HLK10 down, we where on cloud nine. I've never been so happy to kill a boss in WoW, but there it was. Finally mastering how to take down the Val'kyr, getting out of defile, dodging shadow traps, dodging spirit bombs, avoiding chaining the spirits in phase 3, more defile dodging, managing the transition phases...I can't think of a better fight in my five years of raiding than LK. It left me and my guild with a lot of memories that we are still talking about and enjoying (some more than others, of course!)
I gotta be honest, my favorite was Magtheridon. He was so awesomely complicated in his time, and it was just wonderful as a clicker of the cube.
Malygos has a lot of really cool mechanics and the raid itself in full of lore.
Mimiron! Firefighter was so much fun, and also the first hardmode I did. Plus Ulduar. Where can you go wrong?
