Wowhead Economy Weekly Wrap-Up 185 | Vestige of Origins & Gold Making Addon Updates
WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-Up
Hello! Welcome to the 185th edition of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up!
My name is
and I am a content creator focusing on making gold using Professions and
. I have a number of guides over on
and I also stream my adventures on
Legendary Sales & Korthite Crystals
Well, we are into our second week of 9.1 and many things have opened up for those that were able to put in the time and dedication on various reps and renowns. The campaign opening up at Renown 45 has unlocked Flying and the recipe for
Vestige of Origins
. Last week, I reported that the Vestige might be still tied behind Death's Advance rep, but this week it has been clarified that it opens up once you hit Renown 45 and complete the campaign up to that point.
Hey all, in the past weeks I've seen a lot of people saying that you need to complete this weeks campaign mission AND have Honored with Death's Advance (Quartermaster item bough with Stygia) to unlock the Vestige of Origins.
THIS IS INCORRECT
You simply need be current with the campaign missions (i.e. Renown 44) to unlock the Vestige of Origins ON YOUR CURRENT PROFESSIONS. Afterwards the vendor item is used to relearn the Vestige on any new professions. This revelation makes me very excited as I was way behind on D.A. rep on my alts, but now Ill be able to craft R5/6 today.
With the Vestige of Origins being available, players are able to craft Rank 5 & 6 Legendary base items!
However, players cannot actually make use of them yet, so initial sales have been slow, but prices have been amazingly high. At the time of writing, the most available
on EU was on Draenor with 22 and an EU Mean price of ...

A good proportion of the cost will come down to the price of
which have seen a small spike this week as people start to craft...

The quantity available is fairly steady and has risen on many servers, the price mean over EU is (at the time of writing) which makes the Korthite Crystal portion of crafting a Vesige of Origins not counting the cost of the other materials.
This obviously makes crafting Rank 5 & 6 Legendary base items very expensive to make hence the high price for selling. Time will tell as more people get involved and the demand for legendary base items rises.
Something that folks are underestimating is the fact that the season opens up today. Yeah, we had all last week with nothing to do so many were able to farm up korthite amongst many alts. Is the same situation plausible this week though with pvp season, m+ season, and norm/heroic raid opening up. And I’ve been saying this from the get-go, each mythic prog guild is going to need 800 crystals baseline. More like 920-1k with a proper bench. And this isn’t including things like flex sham who’ll need 2-3 legos to be mythically viable. If your server has even 10 prog guilds - that’s an automatic 8k-10k crystals, not to mention all of the heroic guilds and more casual player base. Of course, ymmv depending on what the raid scene is like on your server. But this is the reason I think things will spike hard.
TLDR; more things to do = less farming = less supply during heightened demand = prices on korthite will rise.
Flying Unlocked & Gold Making Opportunities
Of course, with flying made available, farming herbs and ore has just become a lot easier. Expect to see many new routes available over the next few weeks and prices of said materials to steadily drop over time. That said, with the new Mythic season and raid now opening, demand for the potions is going to be high as a result.
I don't know it this belongs here, but it's something I noticed
You can efficiently farm Widowbloom at Dominance Keep area at the north-west of Revendreth. I do a circle and pick up 4 nodes, which is somewhere around 20/min.
Edit: Ok, I got too excitd with numbers. Sometimes there are less than 4 nodes, sometimes there are even 5. Also sometimes I get Nightshade, which usually costs much less than Widowbloom. I've been doing this for 15 minutes and got 110 pieces of Widowbloom + some Nightshade (which still costs something).
Also this area is supposed to be filled with elites and has uneven elevation, therefore this area has somewhat more nodes than other areas in Revendreth, which is literally pointless now that we can fly with druids there and never have to fight any mob. So give it a try if you want to, I don't know if this is the most efficient route, but it seems so to me.
Basically anywhere that was inconvenient to farm due to elevation or elite mobs will be easier to circuit with flying. If you find any good route, please do share them in the comments.

Venture Plan Discontinued & Alternatives
cfxfox, the creator of the rather magnificent Command Table Addon -
has sadly taken a step back from updating the addon for the time being..
I'm currently taking a break from World of Warcraft (and releasing addons). I expect this to continue at least into autumn.
For some addons, releases compatible with patch 9.0.5 will continue to work (check the "Load out of date addons" checkbox). For others, no updates are expected until after the break, and you may need to look for alternatives in the meantime.
This addon has been great for adding to the semi-passive gold making options for those who invest the time in setting it up. There is a
thread over on reddit
, where other users have looked into adding the spells from 9.1. The older missions still work with Venture Plan, so it's still working in some form.
It really goes to show that some addons are instrumental to players experience and it would be great to have a platform to support addon makers who put their hard earned time and skills into making these. Imagine a world without these addons and the player experience in World of Warcraft would be whole lot less satisfactory.
There are also alternative addons to consider ...

WorthIt v4 Released
Continuing the theme of Addons for gold making.
has released a new version of
, the farming value calculation tool with new features and also early compatibility with Classic..
Good Morning All, We are finally released WorthIt version 4.0.0. We have a lot of New features which come out with this. This is accompanied with some Re-designs towards the user interface.
Open World, Rare Pets, Raid Pets – x3 New Modules:
These new modules cover Battle pet farms you can do either in the Open World, Pets you can farm from Rare Elite mobs and also Raid farms you can do.
Farm Planner Module – Executive Assistant Addon:
Farm Planner is a new Feature for making Farming lists within WorthIt. This is so you can search through the addon of farms that take your fancy and then export them into a check list using the executive assistant Addon for List placment.
Custom Price Source:
The one New feature I am most proud of is the Custom Price strings. This is so you can create your own custom price strings for valuing farms. To note, these strings are done the same way you would for TradeskillMaster.
min( dbmarket, dbminbuyout, dbregionmarketavg)
Custom Item Prices:
This feature is located within the Configuration module inside of worthit where you can adapt items values, such as Bloods of Sargeras with a Custom String for valuing making it so when you are farming and recording inside the WorthIt recorder it will value them into your farming session.
Module Search Bar:
This feature is one of my top picks but so simple and this is that worthit now has in the top right of every module and search bar for Farms. You are able to search either by Location or Name to find the item or farm you are looking for.
WorthIt – Recorder:
The WorthIt recorder has gone under some TLC to make it more helpful towards the end user. With a redesign of the initial recorder showing more information on your farming session it now has different modes in which you are able to use. These being Compact Mode for less on screen clutter, Standard Mode for general farming and Edit Mode for Editing farms you have done.
The Navigation Menu has gone under some more redesigns. Cleaning up the User Interface with addition to have drop down menus for farms and options located on the Left side of a given farm.
Bag / Bank Value:
You are now able to value your bag under multiple metrics for either your Characters Bank and Inventory depending on the option you choose. This is located on the Dashboard Drop Down Menu. Dashboard > Tools > Bag / Bank Value > “Price Source of your Choice”.
Farms Module - Drop Down Routes:
All Farms whether that being Recorded or Preset Farms are now accompanied with a drop down button for multiple option to add to Farm Planner, Import Route, Remove, Export, Edit. This is to clean up the UI and make it easy for finding options inside of the the addon itself.
Importing Farms from other users now have there specific area inside of the addon. You can now go to Dashboard > Tools > Import Farm. This is to make it easier for users to import other peoples farms by having its own area to do said action.
We now have added specific area inside of WorthIt for Ease of use while using the addon. These can be found in Dashboard > Help > …
This section will tell you what addons you can use along side worthit to use different features and also improve the overall quality of farming sessions.
We now have a User guide towards the worthit recorder built inside of the addon for users to use. This is to help other users work out how to use the recorder and what else they can change and adapt to there own personal choice.
Tips and Tricks:
This section within the addon is other Tips and Tricks you can do within the addon to make valuations more accurate and adapt the addon towards your needs.
If you have anymore questions please feel free to come over to the discord if you have any issues regarding the addon or just needing any support. I have also done a video guide on version 4.0.0 of WorthIt if you would like a visual run down of what changes and new features have been done.
