Il'gynoth, Corruption RebornAfter defeat in the Emerald Nightmare, Il'gynoth retreated to the depths of Ny'alotha. Here, he has merged with the very architecture of N'Zoth's plane. Spreading like a malignant tumor, Il'gynoth's corruption continues to feed on everything he touches.Normal

Raid Finder

Overview: The encounter begins with players facing off against Il'gynoth's reformed body in the center of the arena. Reducing Il'gynoth's health to 0 will cause him to retreat, opening chambers to his three Organs of Corruption while he reforms.
Each Organ of Corruption spawns Bloods of Ny'alotha, but players can slow the blood flow with interrupt abilities. Defeating an Organ of Corruption will cause Il'gynoth to return with restored health.
This cycle repeats until all three Organs of Corruption and Il'gynoth have all been defeated.

Tanks:
Face [Eye of N'Zoth] away from your allies
Interrupt Organs of Corruption casting [Pumping Blood]
Defeat Bloods of Ny'alotha when your raid has enough health to survive [Hemorrhage]
Healers:
Flee from allies to when they are afflicted with [Touch of the Corruptor]
The raid will suffer heavy damage when targeted with [Cursed Blood]
Your tank will need assistance when afflicted with too many stacks of [Eye of N'Zoth]
Damage Dealers:
Interrupt Organs of Corruption casting [Pumping Blood]
Defeat Bloods of Ny'alotha when your raid has enough health to survive [Hemorrhage]
Reduce allies to <30% health when they are afflicted with [Touch of the Corruptor]

Stage 1: The Corruptor, Reborn

Eye of N'Zoth: A beam from the eye in Il'gynoth's chest blasts all enemies in front of him, inflicting 75 Shadow damage and increasing damage taken from Eye of N'Zoth by 75%.
This effect stacks.
Touch of the Corruptor: Il'gynoth bends players to his will, charming them for 1 min. During this time, players under his influence will attempt to spread the Touch of the Corruptor to other players.
Reducing afflicted players to 30% health will remove this effect. (Mythic, Heroic)
Corruptor's Gaze: The Corruptor's ever-watching eyes creates beams of dark energy, following a targeted player and leaving Nightmare Corruption in its wake.

Nightmare Corruption: Inflicts 60 Shadow damage every 1 sec to any players within, as well as pacifying and silencing them.

Blood of Ny'alotha: These globules of Ny'alotha's blood spawn only from previously defeated Organs of Corruption while Il'gynoth is active.

Fixate: Fixates on a target, attacking them to the exclusion of other targets.
Hemorrhage: On death, Blood of Ny'alotha explodes in a spray of gore, inflicting 24 Shadow damage to all players.
Recurring Nightmare: Blood of Ny'alotha's melee attacks leave behind lingering corruption in the target, inflicting 10 Shadow damage every 2 sec for 40 sec.
This effect stacks.

Cursed Blood: Il'gynoth inflicts a curse on players that grows and shrinks. When the curse reaches full size it inflicts a Cursed Pulse. When the curse is removed it explodes, causing a Cursebreak. (Mythic)

Cursebreak: Upon removal, Cursed Blood explodes inflicting Shadow damage to all players based on the size of the curse. (Mythic)
Cursed Pulse: Each time Cursed Blood reaches its maximum size, a pulse of 30 Shadow damage is inflicted to all players within 14 yards of the cursed player. (Mythic)

Stage 2: The Organs of Corruption

Cursed Blood: Infects players' blood with nightmare energy, inflicting 20 Shadow damage every 2 sec. for 8 sec. When this effect ends, the player will detonate, inflicting 65 Shadow damage to players within 11 yards. (Normal, Heroic, Raid Finder)
Cursed Blood: Il'gynoth inflicts a curse on players that grows and shrinks. When the curse reaches full size it inflicts a Cursed Pulse. When the curse is removed it explodes, causing a Cursebreak. (Mythic)

Organ of Corruption: Three Organs of Corruption spawn around the arena. Defeating one ends this stage, reviving Il'gynoth with restored health.

Pumping Blood: Organs of Corruption pump the blood of Ny'alotha through their valves. When their energy is full a new Blood of Ny'alotha will spawn.
Can be interrupted.

Blood of Ny'alotha

Fixate: Fixates on a target, attacking them to the exclusion of other targets.
Recurring Nightmare: Blood of Ny'alotha's melee attacks leave behind lingering corruption in the target, inflicting 10 Shadow damage every 2 sec for 40 sec.
This effect stacks.
Hemorrhage: On death, Blood of Ny'alotha explodes in a spray of gore, inflicting 24 Shadow damage to all players.

Shad'har the Insatiable

One of N'Zoth's more abberrant creations, Shad'har the Insatiable devours anything he can. Fed by tainted carcasses left in its domain, this ravenous beast is wracked in constant torment as the very thing that sustains him also causes radical mutations.

Overview: Shad'har the Insatiable's breath changes its damage type and secondary effect based on the mantle currently being worn.
As Shad'har the Insatiable eats, his body changes to match the material consumed.

Tanks:
Make sure that neither tank has both [Crush] and [Dissolve] at the same time, taunting when necessary.
Avoid Shad'har the Insatiable's breath attacks.
Shad'har the Insatiable's damage increases noticeably after casting [Frenzy].
Healers:
[Debilitating Spit] initially inflicts high single target damage, then changes to damage multiple targets as it spreads through the group.
Avoid Shad'har the Insatiable's breath attacks.
Tanks will be taking high damage after Shad'har the Insatiable casts [Frenzy].
Damage Dealers:
Use any abilities you have to reduce damage taken from [Debilitating Spit].
Avoid Shad'har the Insatiable's breath attacks.
Move away from other players if targeted by a [Living Miasma] to avoid hitting allies with [Slurry Outburst].

Hungry: Shad'har the Insatiable becomes hungrier as the fight progresses. At 10 applications, Shad'har the Insatiable gains Uncontrollably Ravenous, increasing damage done by 250%.
Feeding Shad'har the Insatiable a [Tasty Morsel] reduces [Hungry]. (Mythic)

Uncontrollably Ravenous: Shad'har the Insatiable goes mad with hunger, increasing damage done by 250%. (Mythic)

Crush: Crushes the targets armor, inflicting 125 Physical damage and increasing damage taken from Dissolve by 400%.
After casting [Crush], Shad'har the Insatiable casts [Dissolve].

Dissolve: Bites the target with acidic jaws, inflicting 10 Nature damage and additional 25 Nature damage every 1 sec for 20 sec.

Debilitating Spit: Covers the target in a vile spit, inflicting 5 Nature damage every 1 sec for 5 sec and initially applying 4 applications. Upon expiration, Debilitating Spit jumps to new targets, giving each new target half the previous target's total amount of stacks.

On Looking For Raid difficulty, Debilitating Spit only jumps to new targets once.
Living Miasma: The pools around the room coalesce into Living Miasma, which fixate on random targets. When they reach their target, they cast Slurry Outburst.

On Mythic Difficulty, the player fixated by the Living Chow is rooted.

Slurry Outburst: The caster explodes, inflicting 75 Shadow damage to all players within 30 yards. (Normal, Raid Finder)
Slurry Outburst: The Living Miasma explodes, inflicting 60 Shadow damage to all players. Being farther from the caster reduces the damage taken. (Mythic, Heroic)
Tasty Morsel: When a Living Miasma explodes, it leaves behind multiple Tasty Morsels. Feeding Shad'har the Insatiable a Tasty Morsel reduces how Hungry it is, but inflicts Slimy Residue upon you. (Mythic)

Slimy Residue: Tasty Morsel leaves residue on your hand, inflicting 4 Nature damage every 2 sec and restricts the ability to pick up further Tasty Morsels for 3 min. (Mythic)

Stage 1: Shadowy Carapace:
Initially, Shad'har the Insatiable starts with stomach full of shadowy material, and gains [Umbral Mantle] and [Umbral Breath].

Umbral Mantle: A dark carapace envelops Shad'har the Insatiable, which explodes every 20 sec, inflicting 8 Shadow damage every 1 sec to all players for until cancelled.

Umbral Eruption: Every few seconds the Umbral Mantle erupts off of Shad'har the Insatiable, inflicting 50 Shadow damage to all players within 4 yards of the impact. The frequency of these eruptions increases as the fight progresses. (Heroic, Mythic, Normal)

Umbral Breath: Expels a shadowy breath, inflicting 50 Shadow damage to all enemies in a cone in front of Shad'har the Insatiable. (Raid Finder)
Umbral Breath: Expels a shadowy breath, inflicting 50 Shadow damage and fearing all enemies in a cone in front of Shad'har the Insatiable for 10 sec .

On Heroic difficulty and above, as Shad'har the Insatiable's health gets lower, the frequency with which [Umbral Breath] occurs increases.

Stage 2: Noxious Carapace:
At 66% health, Shad'har the Insatiable consumes a noxious carcass, morphing his abilities into [Noxious Mantle] and [Bubbling Breath].

Noxious Mantle: A noxious carapace envelops Shad'har the Insatiable, inflicting 15 Nature damage to all players every 3 sec.

On Normal difficulty and higher, after gaining Noxious Mantle, Shad'har the Insatiable spits a pool of [Bubbling Overflow] into the center of the room.

Bubbling Overflow: Bubbling Overflow bubbles over, growing outwards and occasionally showering down on enemy locations, increasing damage taken from Noxious Mantle by 2000%. (Normal, Heroic, Mythic)

Bubbling Breath: Expels a toxic breath, inflicting 50 Nature damage to all enemies in a cone in front of Shad'har the Insatiable. (Raid Finder)
Bubbling Breath: Expels a toxic breath, inflicting 50 Nature damage and an additional 10 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec to all enemies in a cone in front of Shad'har the Insatiable.

Stage 3: Void-tinged Carapace:
At 33% health, Shad'har the Insatiable consumes a void-tinged carcass, morphing his abilities into [Entropic Mantle] and [Entropic Breath].

Entropic Mantle: A void-tinged carapace envelops Shad'har the Insatiable, inflicting 3 Shadow damage and additional 2 Shadow damage every 1 sec to all players for 15 sec. This effect stacks.

On Normal difficulty and higher, Shad'har the Insatiable's Entropic Mantle coalesces the void into [Entropic Buildup] at random nearby locations.

Entropic Buildup: Shadhar the Insatiable's Entropic Mantle causes the void to coalesce around the room, which explode after 15 sec, inflicting 10 damage to all players. Standing in Entropic Buildup causes players to suffer 3 Shadow damage every 1 sec, but reduces the size of Entropic Buildup, lowering the damage of the final explosion.

On Thursday, November 7th, and Friday, November 8th, we will be continuing our raid tests in Ny’alotha, the Waking City. Following the scheduled testing on Friday, Ny’alotha, the Waking City will be available on Normal difficulty over the weekend.

All bosses will be available on Normal mode with the exception of the Carapace of N’Zoth and N’Zoth the Corruptor.

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?

A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?

A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players’ effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?

A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we’re satisfied that we’ve received that information for a given boss, we’ll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.
