Gaining reputation with
游学者
is an unusual process. Instead of completing dailies or zone quests like most other Pandaren factions, players gain reputation by visiting monuments, completing achievements, and hearing folktales. If you have an organized path in mind, hitting Exalted should only take a few hours with a flying mount!
As the keepers of Pandaren culture,The Lorewalkers go hand-in-hand with the spirit of Archaeology. The unusual reputation grind fits the nature of these cultural librarians, and reputation rewards enhance this profession. Check out our beta article on archaeology changes

5.0 Stories
Each monument in Pandaria is tied to an achievement. Upon visiting all the monuments for an achievement, you will be mailed a scroll that begins a quest. Both completing the achievement and turning in the scroll to Lorewalker Cho will give reputation. Turning in all the scrolls will net you
Exalted
.
When you turn the scroll in, Lorewalker Cho will automatically reenact a story for you that sheds light on Pandaren lore. You can hear these stories again anytime by talking to Lorewalker Cho.
MoP: All Exploration Achievements
has the locations for all of the monuments, as well as comments on many of the monument object pages.
少昊的七罪责
Shaohao was Pandaria's greatest and last emperor. He dedicated his life to ridding himself of anger and grief, and the places of his dramatic trials are now the locations of major Pandaria temples. By the end of his life, he was such a transcendent figure that the faded forest in Vale of Eternal Blossoms came to life when he entered it.
蜥蜴人与困境
The Mogu used their flesh-warping magics to transform a race of slow-witted lizards into ferocious killing machines. They realized the extent of their physical power, and after killing the enemies of the Mogu, turned on them and killed the Mogu themselves. The emperor ordered all the Saurok to be killed, but they continue to survive.
The moral of the story is: Power is easily taken, but should not be lightly given.
刘浪之歌
Liu Lang set off to explore Pandaria, isolated from the rest of Azeroth. Traveling on the back of a turtle, he was mocked by his friends at the time for looking silly. However, Liu Lang was very clever--turtles always return to their home beach. Liu Lang would explore faraway places, returning every few years with even grander stories. Over time, more and more brave Pandaren joined him on his travels.
雾锁猢狲
An unruly panda cub was scolded by his father for acting like the Hozen. However, after seeing the spontaneous way the short-lived race embraced life, the cub decided that it was more appealing to live freely like the Hozen, instead in extreme caution like the Pandaren.
锦鱼传
The Jinyu originated from humble murlocs that fortunately lived near magical pools in the Vale. They are now considered one of the wisest races, possessing a rare capability to communicate with the water spirits. Their visions are behind many great events in Pandaria's history, and they were able to predict Azeroth's Sundering ten thousand years ago.
魔古的黑心
The Mogu Empire built their empire on a foundation of fear and torture. They were able to enslave the pandaren, hozen, and jinyu through their brutal tactics, soon experimenting with flesh-shaping to create vicious soldiers. The story ended when one slave was finally able to conquer his fears and was immune to the Mogu's intimidation.
螳螂群之心
Lorewalker Cho warns you that studying the Mantid is a dangerous topic. They predate the Mogu and nobody has ever befriended the Mantid. He explains how the Mantid periodically attack the Pandaren, who must defend themselves against the slaughter--learning about the value of life in the process.
为何而战
Back when the Pandaren were enslaved by the Mogu, they were forbidden from using weapons. Kang, First of the First Dawn, learned how to defend himself without weapons, and inspired the other Pandaren to train, claiming that they were strong--just in different ways from the Mogu. After the Pandaren trained with Kang, they viewed themselves as warriors, not as slaves.
野牛人之歌
The Yaungol were a race of Tauren that were split from Azeroth during the Sundering. Trapped in Townlong Steppes, a desolate place, the Yaungol learned how to master fire--for oil, cooking, heat, and warfare. From the tenacious fate of the Yaungol, the Pandaren have learned that fate is like fire--it can shape or destroy you.
