Although BoEs often have individual drop rates below 1% and are difficult to farm, there are hundreds of different BoEs that can drop from a variety of locations. This means that one should expect to find random BoEs during regular play, but one should not expect to see any particular BoE during regular play. Most BoEs are mediocre, but many are superior to Bind on Pickup (BoP) items of the same level, and many of the most expensive items on the auction house are pre-raid best in slot (BiS) BoE items.

by Flooent will break down and rank all BoEs into four tiers:
Bad stat allocation or weak effect for the level. Auction value is roughly 0 to 10x the vendor value.*
Average stat allocation or average effect for the level. Auction value is roughly 10x to 20x the vendor value.*
Good stat allocation or good effect for the level. Auction value is roughly 20x to 50x the vendor value.*
Pre-raid best in slot or close to it. Auction value is volatile and often well over 50x the vendor value.*
Here are some of the BoEs you can find in the guide:
from Shadowfang Keep
from 40-49 world drops
Is there a specific BoE you tried farming a lot in vanilla, either to sell or to keep? Was there a particular BoE you were excited to loot? Let us know!
