10 Things to Know for Burning Crusade Classic Launch
With the Dark Portal opening soon, Horde and Alliance players will pour into Outland and begin fighting the Burning Legion. Before you take your first steps in Outland, here are 10 things you should know going into Burning Crusade Classic.
Reputation for Heroic Dungeons
Of course experience points are very important, as reaching the new level cap of 70 is a big deal, but the point here is that you'll need Revered with most of the Burning Crusade factions to purchase Heroic Dungeon keys. Because of the importance of Reputation, many players are looking to optimize their leveling experience in Outland to value reputation points more than experience points. One of the most common ways to accomplish this is through spamming dungeons before doing quests, as you will cap out your reputation from dungeons. The goal through this strategy is to cap out your reputation and then do the associated reputation's quest hubs in that zone.

Mag'har & Kurenai Reputation for Nagrand
Many players will be solo questing to level up in Burning Crusade Classic, one really important tip is to pick up the reputation with the Nagrand factions. For Alliance, you'll need to pick up Kurenai Reputation before heading to Nagrand. The easiest way to do this is through the Zangarmarsh questing hub in Orebor Harborage, which should set you up for enough faction to start questing right away in Nagrand. Horde have a quest line in Hellfire Peninsula with the Mag'har that will set them up as well.

Trinket Reward from Hellfire Peninsula
For a lot of players, especially Level 58 Boosted characters, this trinket is pretty insane for how early you can get it in Outland. With an iconic quest chain that begins not long after stepping through the portal, this quest chain is pretty essential to complete. Even if you are casually solo leveling, most of the quest chain are some of the best quests to do in Hellfire Peninsula. For spellcasters and physical damage dealers, the two trinket options are must-have quest rewards, while the tanking one is kind of lacking. Either way, this is one of the best quest rewards early on in Burning Crusade Classic!
Choice of Rewards:
Save Gold for Flying
This is mostly a given, as everyone needs gold for flying, other than
s, who can pick up
at Level 68. In total, you will need 900 gold for the 60% Mount and the necessary Training, once you reach level 70. And this is important, as flying is necessary for multiple steps in
the attunement process
. For the faster mount at 280% speed, you'll need
for Mount and Training.

Keep Questing After Level 70
Once you reach level 70, it can actually be a good idea to
. After hitting level 70, quests make up for the loss of experience and instead rewards double the gold value per quest. Especially for Level 58 boosted characters, this extra gold can go a long way, for both training spells, buying profession items, and of course for flying.

Pick Aldor or Scryer
The Aldor and Scryer faction choice begins with the
in Shattrath, on the two bridges that lead to the center of the city. When Alliance and Horde players first enter the city, this should be their first stop, to pick up the quest
from the Haggard War Veteran. This quest will lead players to
at the heart of the city, where after a short detour, players will have to make a decision between the two factions of Shattrath. Not only will this choice determine what rewards you can get later, but will have influence on your questing path in both Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley.
Choosing Aldor or Scryer in Burning Crusade Classic
The Content Phase system is a really important concept to understand, as most of Burning Crusade Classic's content won't be available at launch and will be released in
. This is a massive deviation from what actually happened in the original Burning Crusade, as Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon's Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, and Mount Hyjal were all available on day one of Burning Crusade.
This time around however, Blizzard is splitting up the content and giving players time to breathe between content phases, which is great for players who might take a bit longer to get attuned to the various raids.

A Head Start on Attunements
Attunements are a massive part of Burning Crusade and can be quite a long journey for some players. Thankfully, Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair do not require any attunement at all, only that you are level 70 and in a raid group. Karazhan however does have an attunement and you can actually get a head start on it, as the initial quests in the attunement process only require level 68 to pick up. You'll eventually need to run the dungeons involved in that attument anyway, so some players might opt to knock out two birds with one stone.

Arena Releases After Launch
In an interview with Screenrant
, Holly Longdale shared when the first Arena Season will be coming out after the Dark Portal Opens. This is quite a relief for players, giving them some time to level up and possible run a couple of raids for some gear, before the opening day of the season.
Screenrant: We're now over a month into the Burning Crusade Classic Beta, what updates can you provide at the moment?
: It's been amazing. The population is extraordinarily high on beta. So we're getting a lot of really incredible feedback that's helping us make decisions and make it the best experience we can. We're coming up on May 18. And starting May 18 is when pre-patch goes out. At that point, players will be able to make the choice between Burning Crusade Classic or Classic Era. If they want to play both, we'll have a service for a fee where you can clone your character and play in both. Blood Elves and Draenei will be available. Jewelcrafting as well up to skill level 300. The level 58 boost will be available as of the week of May 18. The boost is one per account and can't be applied to Blood Elf and Draenei. We'll also have a deluxe edition for the game. We want everybody to get ready for June 1st. The Dark Portal will unlock on June 1st and everyone will be able to jump through who's level 58 and get into Outland.
A couple weeks later, our first arena season will start.
So we're super excited. The help on beta has been incredible. We wouldn't we wouldn't be this far ahead without all the support from the community.
What to do At Level 70
After reaching Level 70, players should immediately start working toward their attunements and finding a raid group for Karazhan, Magtheridon's Lair, and Gruul's Lair. Along the way on the attunement process, you'll also likely come across a lot of really good pieces of gear, which might end up being your Pre-Raid Best in Slot pieces. At this early stage of the game, finding gear upgrades, leveling your professions, and getting your character as prepared as possible for raids is the best course of action.
