Looking Back at 2009 and Forward to 2010
Here we are, folks, right before the start of not only a new year but also a new decade. Hopefully, next year will provide us with new opportunities, new inventions, maybe even new resolutions—although, on second thought, I've really yet to meet someone dedicated to carrying out a New Year's resolution—and hopefully more happiness to everyone around the world.
Today we should take some brief time to look back on the year 2009, and take a moment to remember all the changes in our lives. It could be something as simple as getting a car. Or maybe you have a memory from something WoW-related, be it inside or outside the game itself.
What is your best memory of 2009?
Remember, you can include something WoW-related! And
what are you looking forward to when 2010 comes?
I've included a reflection of my own here, as well as one of
's. If you're interested in seeing the reflections, they are immediately after the break. :)

The Story of the Ashbringer
If there is one thing that really defines me as a WoW player, it's my admiration for the paladins and forces of the Light. This being said, I can't go away without mentioning one very special name: Alexandros Mograine, the
. I should probably toss Tirion Fordring in there too, but Mograine is the one I wanted to talk about today.
If you browse online WoW comics, there is one particular comic you might have noticed lately -
. It's a relatively new comic that I really enjoy - it's very entertaining, and the quality of the art is better than what you normally see in online comics. It's not updated as much as I would want, but I think it's normal to keep you wanting more and more of something you enjoy a lot. After all,
Looking for Group
is merely updated twice a week, and I think that's not often enough either ;)
Now, you're probably wondering how I am going to tie the Ashbringer and a young WoW comic. Rather simply: I am going to forward to you a blog entry fro

New Warcraft Anniversary Mini Site!
I think it became pretty evident that World of Warcraft is turning 5 about now - we had publications, blue posts, blogs, ingame letters, non-combat pet, and even a feat of strength to tell us all that! What many of us didn't see was the other Blizzard's birthday - good old Warcraft is turning 15!
To celebrate those two events, Blizzard is launching a new
5-15 Year Anniversary Mini Site
, which features interviews with key Blizzard people, as well as a new Battlecry mosaic project where you can show off your faction pride -- unlocking content in the process!
Over the past five years, a lot has changed in Azeroth. Valiant heroes have travelled the length and breadth of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, taken wing in Outland to free the Black Temple from Illidan's clutches, and set sail for Northrend to battle the mighty Lich King. Whether you've been part of the adventure from the beginning or are just getting started now, we're glad to have you with us for the five-year anniversary of Wor

Blizzard Authenticators: Are They Worth It?
The Authenticator is an excellent tool that keeps unwanted hackers out of your account through a nearly infallible method. However, this device also has the potential to cause a
of inconvenience for the account holder, oftentimes more trouble than it would cause for a hacker. I can say from this personal experience because I’ve gone through it twice already. After the second incident, it really made me reconsider whether or not the Authenticator was worth the hassle.
The first time happened was when I went on a trip to Northern California.
Forge of Souls Impressions
So it took me a good few days to find some time to test the new 5-man introduced in the latest PTR build. Yep, I am talking about the Forge of Souls, the first wing of the Frozen Halls, which is the composite name of all 3 5-mans in the Icecrown Citadel. Story-wise it is the first section of the Frozen Halls you are going to enter, so I am going to spend a little time talking about the story behind those three dungeons.
Yep, after the break :D
Oh, and let me tell you something. Instance full of creepy flying skulls that seem to be laughing at you while floating around playfully is one of the creepiest things I have ever seen in the game.

We all know this day was coming, but we didn't know exactly

Pit of Saron Impressions
So after much struggle and not a single WoW reinstall, I finally managed to get my PTR Client up and working. Eager to test the Pit of Saron, I transferred my
(who is actually a tank, so his Ret gear isn't that great), I went to the place, got a group together in a few mere instants... and could not enter. Apparently having done so many phasing quests in Icecrown, I was not able to see the instance portals. Which I fixed by simply copying a pre-made character, paladin tank as well, and, oh wonders - I was able to enter the instance soon after my first failure!
So this blog is going to be about my first impressions of the place. A word of caution before we start - I was not able to fight the final boss, Scourgelord Tyrannus. He was just not there. Kind people in the LFG channel politely informed me that he should be there, so I guess I had just encountered a bug. I will try again later and update the blog with impressions of the fight against him as well.
3.3 Speculations (Part 1)
So just a couple days back I brought you some juicy
(because we all know the blog wasn't actually about the PTR coming up). Well, I was talking to Corgan yesterday, and apparently he is really good at digging interesting stuff out of the game files and
. So we just kind of sat
, he was throwing links at me, I was reading as quickly as possible, and then there were some promises and implications that my immediate descendants would suffer an... interesting fate, if I failed to post all that in a blog.
So here it is. The blog is going to be really spoiler heavy. I am only going to cover Quel'Delar in this part (exploring other interesting quest chains, and some interesting spells too in the later issues), so if you are fine with that - go ahead. If not... I just wrote a very long blog for you not to read :P
