Getting Started
What Is the Premade Group Finder?
World of Warcraft is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) where players interact with each other on a regular basis. Because of the high frequency in which players interact with one another, there exists in-game tools created by Blizzard to bring players together more easily. One such tool that players have at their disposal is what's known as the
Premade Group Finder
. The Premade Group Finder is a tool in World of Warcraft that allows players of the same faction to connect with each other by creating custom groups (also known as
Premades
). The Premade Group Finder is broken down into two major sections: PvE (Player vs. Environment) and PvP (Player vs. Player). These sections are then divided further into sub-sections to assist players with making and finding groups for specific types of content.
How Do I Access the Premade Group Finder?
Because the Premade Group Finder is a component of the LFG (Looking For Group) system, it can be easily accessed by clicking the
Group Finder
(Green Eye) button at the bottom of your action bar, or by pressing the keybind to pull up the Group Finder menu (default keybind for PvE is the "I' key and default keybind for PvP is the "H" key) and then clicking the
Premade Groups
tab. To see a visual walkthrough on how to do this with the
Standard Blizzard UI
, click the
spoiler
below.
Click the Group Finder (Green Eye Button) at the bottom of your screen.
Click the Premade Groups Tab
Types of Content
The following are types of content players can use the Premade Group Finder for:
PvE:
Dungeons (including Mythic+)
Current content raids such as
安托鲁斯,燃烧王座
Legacy raids such as
奥杜尔
Questing (Primarily used for Legion World content such as World Quests)
Custom content including (but not limited to) fishing, farming, and RP (Role-Playing)
PvP:
Arenas (2v2 or 3v3)
Arena Skirmishes (Non-Rated Arenas)
Battlegrounds (Both Rated and Non-Rated)
Custom PvP including (but not limited to) world pvp, war games, and pvp world quests
Using the Premade Group Finder
Finding A Group
Looking For A Group:
To join a group via the Premade Group Finder, you must first decide what content you want to participate in. When you have made a selection, click the tab the content corresponds to, and click
Find a Group
. From there, you can scroll through events related to your content choice.
(Optional) Filtering Your Results:
Depending on the type of content, you might not find exactly what you're looking for right away. However, thanks to the
Search Bar
feature, you can easily search by key words in order to filter your results and find a group faster. To see a visual example on how to use the
Search Bar
feature, click the
spoiler
below.
In this example, we are going to be looking to join a group for the dungeon
英灵殿
on Mythic Difficulty. We are in the
Dungeon
section of the Premade Group Finder, but there a lot of choices that don't relate to the dungeon we're looking for.
Here's what we do:
Click on the section with the
Magnifying Glass
and type in keywords. In this case, we are going to type in "Halls." As you can see, by typing in our keyword, we were given a series of choices to choose from to further filter our results. We're going to click on the option that says "Halls of Valor (Mythic)."
After we typed in our key word and clicked on the option from the drop down menu, we came up with this result:
From there, we can then mouse over the event for additional details and/or requirements, otherwise we can click the event and click the
Sign Up
button to sign up for the event.
Signing Up:
Once you've selected the event you want to attend, you need to then sign up for that event. You can do so by clicking on the event and then clicking the
Sign Up
button. Please note: Signing up for an event
DOES NOT
always guarantee that you will be invited by the event host. Every host has different requirements for different content. A host can decline your sign up for any reason, especially if you don't meet their requirements (more on those later in the guide).
Making A Group
Planning Your Event:
The first step when making a group via the Premade Group Finder is to decide what event you're going to make as well as what type of content the event corresponds to. Next. once you have decided what your event is going to be, open the Premade Group Finder, click the type of content the event corresponds to, and click
Start a Group
.
Filling In the Details:
Now that you know what your event is going to be and what type of content it corresponds to, it's time to fill in information about your event. The first thing you should do when making your event is create a title. When choosing a title, make sure that your title tells the people signing up exactly what the event is about in a few, short words. Next, once you have chosen a title, you should fill in additional information about your event. In your description, you can include information such as: what you're doing, what group size you're looking for, any special requirements you're looking for (i.e. m+ score or Ahead of the Curve), and/or any additional relevant information about the event. While making a description for your event is optional, it is encouraged to make a description (even if it's brief) so that players have a basic understanding of what the group is for. Additionally, aside from writing a title and description, you also have the option to include any voice chat you are using, set a minimum item level, and making the event private.
Listing the Group:
Once all the information about your event has been filled out, your next step is to click the
List Group
button. By listing your group, people can now sign up for your event. You'll know your group is listed because a Green Eye will appear on your minimap and a short sound (if sound is enabled) will play. If a player signs up for your event, the eye will begin flashing. If the eye stops flashing, that means a player canceled their sign up. You can view who is signed up for your event by clicking the Green Eye on your in-game minimap.
Approving/Declining Players:
As players sign up for your event, you can decide who joins your events. From the sign ups panel you can then click the
Invite
button to invite a player to a group, or you can click the
X
button to decline that player. If a player who is registered on your battletag (also called btag) signs up for an event, they'll have a blue marker next to their name indicating they're a friend on your btag list.
Making A Group Walkthrough:
If you would like to see a step by step process on how to make a group using the Premade Group Finder, click the
spoiler
below.
Open the Group Finder Panel by clicking the Green Eye at the bottom of your action bar or pressing the "I" or "H" key.
Click the Premade Groups tab.
Select the type of content you're event corresponds to and click the
Start a Group
button.
Give your event a title and fill in any additional information about your event. When you've filled out all the necessary information, click the
List Group
button.
You'll know you're listed because a Green Eye will appear on the minimap.
When player's sign up, the eye will flash indicating a player has signed up. Clicking the eye will pull up the panel to show which player(s) is/are currently signed up. You can invite a player to your group by clicking the
Invite
button or decline them by clicking the
X
button. A player with a blue marker by their name indicates that player is on your battletag list.
Congratulations, you now know how to make a group using the Premade Group Finder system!
Additional Features
Quick Join
As an event host, you have the ability to enable a feature called
Quick Join
which allows guild members and battletag friends to automatically join your group instead of being manually invited. You can turn on this feature on by opening the game menu, clicking the interface tab, going to the social section, and checking the box that says
Auto Accept Quick Join Requests
. To see a step by step of how to enable this feature, click the
spoiler
below.
Open the Game Menu by pressing the
Escape
key or by clicking
?
at the bottom of your action bar.
Click the
Interface
tab from the in-game menu
Click the
Social
section and then check the box that says
Auto Accept Quick Join Requests
. Please note: Make sure you click the
Okay
button or your changes will not be saved!
Auto Accept
Another feature the Premade Group Finder offers is the ability enable a feature called
Auto Accept
when filling a group. Similar to
Quick Join
, Auto Accept allows
ANY
player to join your group regardless of whether you know them or not. This feature is most commonly used in max level world content such as world quests and can be enabled be the event host by checking the box titled
Auto Accept
once the group has been listed.
Group Requirements
When making or joining a group, it's important to know the requirements (if any) the group has or will have. The following are common requirements hosts use to limit what players sign up for events:
Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge:
One of the most common requirements hosts use for
Raid
Premade Group Finder events are
Ahead of the Curve (AotC) and Cutting Edge (CE)
. AotC is a Feat of Strength given to players for defeating the last boss of the current raid tier on Heroic Difficulty. Similarly, CE is obtained by defeating the last boss of the current raid tier on Mythic Difficulty. This current raid tier's AotC and CE are
引领潮流:寂灭者阿古斯
and
千钧一发:寂灭者阿古斯
.
M+ Score:
Another common requirement hosts use is
Mythic Plus Score
(also known as M+ score). In short, M+ score is a score that
Raid.io
calculates based on the dungeons you've completed as a keystone, each key's difficulty, and the amount of time it took to complete each key. M+ score is mostly only used as a requirement for high level keystones.
Battletag and Guild Member:
As a host, you have the ability to make events private so that only friends on your battletag, guild members, or guild members of friends can sign up. You can make an event private by checking the box that says
Private
when making a group using the Premade Group Finder.
Item Level:
The most frequently used and most common requirement hosts use across the majority of in-game content is
Item level
or ilvl. There are two types of ilvl: Equipped and Overall. Equipped ilvl is the average item level of all armor that you have currently equipped. Overall ilvl is the average item level of all the highest pieces of gear that are equipped and in your bags.
Refreshing
When using the Premade Group Finder, often times, groups will delist causing the name of the event to become grayed out. If this occurs, players can refresh the queue page by clicking the
Refresh
button located in the upper right hand corner of the Premade Group Finder panel.
