I noticed that if the pridewing was able to cast his poison attack, I rarely got the venom sac. If I could keep them from casting the poison, I usually got the sac. If you can keep them out of range, you may have better luck. Of course, it may just be random and my experience is insignificant.

hmmm,
don't think you have to worry about whether they poison you or not, you just need to kill a LOT of wyverns!

just did this quest in cat form on my druid and it took ages. on the plus side though i got a lot of xp from the grrrind, and a ton of leather!

only real problem was passing horde! ;>

I'm with Ursim, I'm currently a level 24 mage, slightly overpowered, and they never have time to get their poison out, not once but so far I've still only picked up one. Oh well, at least there's exp.

the weird thing about this is that i practically never got a sack from one who didn't poison me so it must just the a coinsidence and random drop

i've found that if i jump down onto the wyvern from above, landing in their nest and crushing their eggs under your heavily armored boots, they're usually so scared and confused that they cough up their venom sac at your feet, and then curl up and die.

is to not let them cast their poison attack. Someone said something about them casting their spell and not getting one. I tried it and it works. Dont let them cast their poison DoT and you got the sack. :)

It took me maybe 40 minutes to get all twelve venom sacs. I killed exactly 31 of them before they all dropped this last time around.

I completed this same quest on different characters 3 times, it's been around the same kill count each one: 31, 37, and 38.

It seems to take longer than it really does, not that 40 minutes isn't long. =) Just keep at it. 30-40 kills usually does it.

On my 23 Mage (Fire spec), when I first started killing Pridewings, I had a very good droprate (nearly 50%), but after I had 4 venom sacks I altered my spell order to include Frostnova to slow it down a bit and stop taking as much damage. Droprate plummeted, I didn't get a single sack for maybe 20-30 kills.

So I bit the bullet and went back to the more "beat on me while I kill you ASAP" method, and sure enough droprate was back to around 50%. I couldn't pin it down exactly, but I definitely DID get sacks even when the poison was used on me.

So if you're having trouble, try changing up the order of your powers.
