But silly enough, it is true they are rare.

Heavy Hide is so goddamn vital to most of the patterns from LW 170-200 that its really ridiculous its this hard to find. You'd think most creatures would have at least a 1% chance of dropping it. Anyway, this is why my lvl 42 hunter just got to LW 190... and the next 10 pts will be long....

I'm a level 60 Hunter, and my leatherworking hasn't progressed past 200 because of Heavy Hides. So, when I hit 60, I farmed them off of the Mangy Silvermanes in The Hinterlands, it's bad, but I don't mind since I have nothing else to do ;P

It's about a 1 - 8 chance to get one.

Ok, so this lists what drops it, revealing nothing drops heavy hide very frequently.

But most leather workers are skinners or are good friends with one.

So what gives heavy hide for skinning?
