These are perfect for hunter or Shaman. For alliance when these are combined with Judgement of Wisdom and Blessing of Wisdom it's almost impossible to go oom (assuming you have about 150-200 spirit as a hunter (zomg loads) or about 100 if you're using mana oils/have mp/5s on equip).
Since it doesn't say "Chance on hit," I'm assuming it's a 100% chance to gain the 8 mana on melee/ranged hit? In the expansion a shaman dual-wielding fast weapons could regen mana like crazy!
From what I've read, the proc on this breaks CC effects, such as Wyvern Sting and Scatter. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
I was lucky enough to have my guild offer mats for this to my Enhancement Shaman. Extremely interesting to use with Shamanistic rage, and while dual-wielding fast weapons (1.5 and 1.8 at the moment).
Since my shaman is melee support on raids, I'll have to outaggro rogues to get beaten up. And if I do, Grace of Earh trinket and Tranquil Air totem are there to save the day (assuming I'm not one-shotted)
Great item for grinding and mana conservation in long fights - used to use them on my hunter vs Patchwerk (in particular) myself.
The mana drain effect also causes additional threat over the damage of the weapon. So you may want to watch your aggro gen when you first use these.
Grasps + Hurricane in a fight = very quick regen (and mana drain when appropriate). The target doesn't have to have mana for you to actually receive mana from the gloves.
Unless you have a buttload of stamina stacked elsewhere, these are awful for PvP. Even then you'd probably kill your target before the proc made a noticeable difference.
Just as most crafted epics, in the battle of mats cost vs. usefulness, these lose horribly.
Are an incredible piece of kit.
Each strike you deal adds 8 mana, drop a rapid fire as a hunter and laugh as your mana regens, not at the fastest pace, but it is better than nothing.
A crit, and some AP in there make these very nice for those Marksman Specced Support hunters, increasing the over all white damage they do.
Shamans as well take advantage of the melee mana regen, good for Enhancement shamans far and wide.
Now, if they only had some stamina...
I was bored in a standby raid the other day so i wiped this math up
im ignoring miss/dodge/parry AND flurry. I am assuming they will basically even out. correct any of my math if you want but basically this is what i came up with excluding those 4 things
Basically every hit gives you 8 mana. Im going to pretend dodge miss parry does not exist atm k, k.
2.6 speed mh and 1.7 speed oh is what ill do the math with
Main Hand 8(5.0/2.6) = 15.4 mp5
Off Hand 8(5.0/1.7) = 22.5mp5
37.9 mp5 total
And that is w/o windfury and w/o stormstrike. Stormstrike is on a 10 second cooldown so add a flat 4 mp5.
So with stormstrike
To calculate windfury mp5 we're going to basically say 20% chance to add 2 hits. So 20% of your hits add an additional 16 mana. (im going to ignore offhanding windfury because im going to assume they will fix it in some form or another)
So for every 100 swings mathmatically windfury will add 40 additional hits. So we will say that windfury adds 40% more attacks.
Stormstrike can also proc windfury. With a 2.6 speed weapon it takes 260 seconds to get 100 attacks. That is 26 stormstrikes. 26 stormstrikes provides aprx 10.4 extra attacks. 40% extra attacks once again.
Actual math without miss/parry/dodge OR flurry
5 seconds to represent mp5
2.6 to represent attack speed
1.4 to represent the additional attacks windfury adds
4 mp5 from stormstrike
1.4 again to represent the amount of attacks stormstrike provides
Main Hand 8 + 1.4(4) = 27.1 mp5
Off Hand 8(5.0/1.7) = 22.5mp5
27.1 + 22.5 = 49.6 mp5 FROM 1 PAIR OF GLOVES
well, apart the 1% crit its jsut crap.
I mean 8 mana...thats nothing, so its worthless for gaining/draining.... and than u have just 1% and 28 AP left....
I would every day take the hakkar gloves over this!

Just made a pair on my hunter(instantly got 15 agi on them), and TBH i didnt think they would be THAT good, but in MC 2day i loved them. That xtra 8 mana every time u shoot is purely amazing, i got a blastershot launcher (2.6 speed), so its like adding 16 mana regen every 5 seconds, and thats not counting multi shots/aimedshots. Yes it does proc off every multi shot arrow, its really nice, too bad it doesnt proc off volley lol.Assuming that how they figure rapid fire and quick shots is 2.6- 2.6*.3, then 1.82-1.82*.4 is 1.09, then my mana regen hits almost ! Correct me if im wrong on that math, but IMO its worth having these on during boss fights, and long trash pulls, they get me more rap than my blood guards chain gauntlets, so i wear em all the time when raiding. Get yourself a god damn pair FFS!
Can also make these on Haltarrant(Warrior) on the server Ursin, use em on Keltarrant(Hunter)

The mats don't seem too hard to get, Although as a shamen i would choose Seafury Gaunts, they have better stats, and 7 mana regen anyway (okay so thats every 5 secs) but most ench shamens DON'T have fast weapons, they have slow 2H.
For a Hunter however, i could see how this would be good.

Tho, no stats at all.
I got them today, and loved them from the beginning. Finally some gloves for alternative builds. And 8 mana is alot, if you are wielding a really fast weapon together with instant attacks. Hunter hint hint.
I agree that these are pretty useless in raids or group pvp situations. Thats open PvP/duel/farmgear :)

Think about, you're hittin' every 2.9secs with a Rhok'delar as a hunt. That are round 13/5 Mana. Just with Autoshot, then all the aimeds any maybe every single hit of a multi shot.
Then you got some serious manareg, maybe if you have enough gold to spend and you dunno what to do with it, why not try it out?

I just bought these for 250g, and slapped a +15 agility enchant on em after that. I couldnt be more satisfied with this purchase. Facts are that you gain 8 mana if you use: Auto shot, multi shot (8 for each target hit), arcane shot, aimed shot, concussive shot, scatter shot, distracting shot, tranquilizing shot, normal melee hit, wing clip, mongoose bite, counterattack or raptor strike. Basically, every shot or hit, not stings. Thats a wadda mana!
For long monotonous fights where a *!@#$%^ would usually run out of mana, and then go feigning death and drinking, these are worth so much! Cause you really lose a lotta damage in those +/- 10 secs of sitting down doing nothing. With this item, the combat text just spams +8 mana non-stop.

since WF _does_ work on offhand.
Main Hand 8*((5/2,6)*1,4)+(1,4*4) = 27 mp5
Off Hand 8*((5/1,7)*1,4)+(1,4*4) = 39 mp5
= 66 mp5 or 788 mana/min
They are not that good. Would like em on my shammy tho. Nice for pvp.. I guess... though there is 0 stats..
