This is the best rogue level 19 twink dagger in the game. Too bad the drop rate is so low. I have ran SFK 8 times with my pally and never seen it drop :(. On Drak'Thul this goes quickly on the AH from 200-300g.

Drop rate in SFK is very low, about 2.3%. If you were to obtain this item I would definatly suggest selling it. It may be good but you will get a much better one in later levels.

Edit: This weapon drops off Archmage Arugals' in SFK for 2.3% it will not drop off everyone.

if you're a high level stealth character you can get this by stealth running to arugal to kill only him, however, the drop rate is so low that after a few tries it really just isn't worth it...there are more reliable ways to get 200-300g.

Drops in SFK, as a random BoE blue.
Great for twinking a low level rogue, or if you happen to be lucky enough to get it as a legit leveling rogue then it's stats and spd, make for a far superior dagger then all the other Blue Daggers around this level.

With the higher Spd, your ambush and backstabs will provide far a bit more damage then your average dagger.

I've been running Shadowfang lately to hopefully get this drop, but as of 54 runs, I have yet to see it. It's pretty tough to get. It only sold for about 50 gold on the Dark Iron server last time I saw it.

best way i found to get this was to aoe farm SFK. i used a priest with holy nova. just aggro'd everyone just by running past then once i got enough i just holy nova killed em. only rob is that u are gonna want to empty your bags before u go in because u gotta loot them all or else u will miss some of the people u kill.

This is probably the best twink weapon you will find for a level 19. It is also probably one of the hardest items to farm in my opinion. Great stats, especially with a lifestealing enchant, crusader enchant, or agility +15 enchant on it. The most successful way I have farmed this up is to use AoE spells... if you have them. Just gather up all the mobs in the area and bring em' down quick, that is if you have a high level character that can easily solo this instance. On my server (Skywall) prices on this baby are up to 300g. Probably the same for all the others, so if you want to make some cash, start farming Shadowfang Keep in Southern Silverpine Forest near Pyrewood Village.

They must have lowered or removed the Assassin's Blade from Archmage Arugals. 2.3% is way to high in my opinion.

I've run SFK 40+ times over the last month & the blade has never dropped. Black Malice & Shadowfang are the only BoE Blues I've gotten out of there as of yet.

It is less then a 2.3% drop, ive ran it atleast 80 times and havent found it yet. Black Malice and Shadowfang are still good weps to sell, get around 20-35g for both in Bonechewer-US. But great for twink rogue, especially with crusader, Lifestealing, and +15 agi.

I kills me to know that this puppy was worth so much. Got this from a random mob in SFK last week and sold it for 30g on AH. Sadly enough, I didn't know it was one of the most sought after weapons in the game... Missed a chance of a lifetime right there.

Wow - literally. I ran this instance the first time a couple weeks ago as my 50+ warrior, after taking a paladin there on a paladin quest, and got this drop. Was off of one of the earlier characters. My son said it was a great item, so i've got it sitting in my bank box right now. Thing is - this is on a RP server - not pvp - is it worth as much there?

I ran SFK once on my 43 rogue when i first hit 40, as sort of a celebration in getting my mount. I killed literally about 15 things and this drops. I was so psyched I kept running, and later that run, Shadowfang dropped. It was amazing! I sold both on the AH for 150g for assassin's and 200g for shadowfang. they sold for within about 20 minutes. FYI: THEY BOTH HAVE A DROP RATE OF 0.01%

im on skywall server and this dropped in a random sfk run one day and like they are just total noobs they made us greed roll just cause we didnt have a rogue but we had person that had a rogue alt see and they greed rolled a priest won it and then equipped it because he said he was going to be a twink and i totally agree with you krazymankellogg the wsg dagger should be nearly as good and if you ask me it should be selling for like 45-50g except on skywall ally it goes for nearly 300g

This dagger has 1 purpose-
10-19 BG twinks.

to all you people saying "im lvl 24 and I want to buy this", go get a better dagger- you wont be using this long, so its not worth the gold.

HOWEVER, this is the BEST dagger for BG at lvl 19, and twinks have huge fundage from their mains.

Equip one of these (or two, as they are "one hand" weapons and NOT unique, which means they can be duel-wielded) and you are in business.

If you are over lvl 19 and you equip this....you just threw away TONS of gold.

You are unstoppable! 10-19 is the most WSG you gunna see till 60.(With the exeption of 20-29)Check out the reputation rewards for WSG, You just threw away a TON of gold, don't call ME the Nood!"

With that I logged on my main, and continued farming for this blade. /sigh

The worst part is ppl are willing to pay 50-200 Gold for this level 19 Dagger. But only if it is for their Level 19 Battle Ground Twink. (Especially Rogues) Unlike normal players, these BG toons won�t be using the dagger for days, they will be using them for months. Top on a nice high level enchant, like Life Stealing or Crusader. Get some monkey or stamina gear. Throw on +Stamina Enchants. You got almost 1000HP unbuffed. Once you�re in battle, get Fort, AotWild, Well Fed, Blood Pact, your unstopable!

What is the point? 10-19 WSG has a lot of traffic, the battles are short, and the reputation comes in fast. The rewards speak for themselves.

The assassin's blade is the very best weapon in the game for a level 19 rogue. It is an ultra rare drop at around 0.1%, or 1 for every 5000 kills in SFK. Its typical value on old servers is 200-300g. On newer servers you can expect to see it go for 90ish g.

I will now address a few newb questions/comments:

newb: how come peeps want dis yo?
-Because it is the very best level 19 rogue weapon in the game. Lots of people want to make rogue twinks.... it's basic supply and demand Sancho

newb: why does peeps be playin 19 rogueds?
-Because a perfectly geared level 19 rogue can dominate warsong gulch like I dominate your sister. It is very very fun to run around 2-hit killing helpless retards like you for hours on end.

newb: so dees peeps aint neva level past 19?
-Precisely. Your wisdom is surpassed only by your ignorance sir.

newb: i aint stupit, i jus slow. k, so should i be use dis on me 21 hunter?
-No. At level 20 or higher, there are better weapons that you can get for a MUCH lower price.

newb: where i be getting dis?
-It drops off of any level 24 or higher monsters in Shadowfang Keep.

newb: i dun did shadowfang keep 9 tymes n dis downt drop yo.
-The drop rate is 0.1%. It is extremely rare. On average, only 1 out of every 5000 monsters in SFK will drop this. You are better off gold-farming for a few hours with a high level character, and then buying the assassin's blade off of the AH, or from the trade channel. It will take less time than trying to farm SFK.

newb: you say you so smart, but why not me 19 twink rogue be use da cruel barb, shadowfang, WSG dagger, or someting?
-Rogues hit the hardest when they use ambush, or backstab. These moves can only be used when the rogue has a dagger equipped in his main hand. Thus, the assassins blade will yield much higher dps due to the fact that it enables the use of these skills. The WSG dagger has slightly lower damage, and one less stat point.

-Congratulations. You can either make a 19 rogue twink, or sell it. Put the assassin's blade in your local AH for 24 hours with a 200g minimum bid, and a 300g buyout. If no one bids, lower the price by about 10% per day until it is sold, or try spamming in the trade channel. Wait, scratch that.... you better just mail it to me. In return I'll give you a few of those little savory deviate delights that you like so much Wang.

I've ran SFK 30+ times now and it still hasn't droped for me...I'm trying to get it for my Twink but i don't think it will drop, the funny thing is that i got Feet of the Lynx on the 3rd run and i've gotten Silver-Plated Footgaurds on the 15th...I Still don't have Assassin's Blade, I want to know if there are any triks to get it.

I recently started doing runs of SFK to find this weapon. I have a rogue in the making and really wanted a great weapon for him. After 3 runs of the keep with my 44 hunter I found the blade. Overjoyed with my find I began to debate what to do with it. My rogue is one thing, the fact I was poor was another thing. I sent out some tells in the trade window, couple of 100G offers. I decided to post it in AH at a 150G buyout and go to work. At the end of the day I decided to keep it and use it to wreck horde. Too bad for me it sold for 150G. Since then I vowed that I would run the keep until I found another. it has been about 60 runs since that drop. I refuse to pay over 100g for the item, not to mention i havent' seen any in AH since my find. I usually do 2-3 runs a day, and it takes me an Hour on average to completely clear the keep. I will keep going until I find another blade. At which point I will immediately equip on my rogue to surpass any further guessing. Wish me luck :i

I went throught sfk 7 times now to get the meteor shard that has a good 16% chance of drop......

Instead I dropped the assassins blade, only two people needed it, and I was one of those two, and won. Woot. Took 7 runs

I made an Excel spreadsheet and inputted all the mobs in Shadowfang Keep along with the drop rates for each of the bind on equip blue items that drop there.

I then multiplied each mob's drop rate by the average number of that type of mob in each instance (based on an average of several runs) to get the number of runs it would take to get each item on average.

I have calculated the drop rate to be:

Assassin's Blade: 1 in 85 runs
Shadowfang: 1 in 100 runs
Either Assassin's Blade or Shadowfang: 1 in 45 runs
Any bind on equip blue item: 1 in 5 runs

I did not include chests in the calculations since some are locked and not everyone is able to open them (Rogues or blacksmiths ftw).

So the guy who posted a 1.15% was pretty close. I came up with 1.12% (1 in 85).

Hope this helps.

You may turn your nose up at paying 100g but if you were an herbalist, think how many high level herbs you could pick in the same time it takes to farm one of these. You'd be MUCH better off just buying it. If you like farming lowbie instances (I do sometimes), that's cool, go for it. If you want to be efficient with your time, don't.

Yesterday...i was thinking of farming SFK for Shadowfang (my twink needs it)...but i went to check AH for a dagger...and there Was Assassin's Blade....w/ Lifestealing Enchant...was only 125g BO...so i talked to seller....and haggled...got it for 75g...boy am i proud =] now all i need is shadowfang....D'oh!

Trying to farm these for my epic mount fund.

Got one today off a shadowfang darksoul, sold for 275g... Only my 8th run, so I'll probably keep going for a second one for probably another 10-15 runs. lol.

I've been skipping everything lower than level 21, since thott says they only drop off 21 and above. Can anyone confirm this? The drops above list levels like 18-21, but am i correct in assuming that it shows the mob it drops off of, and then all the levels that mob spawns at, and that it hasn't in fact dropped off any level 18s?

I recently started making attempts through SFK to get the assassin's Blade. On my third run of the keep I found the dagger. Overjoyed because it was my first real find of a blue item of worth, I didn't know what to do with it. I have a (19 now) Rogue who could make use of it, however as of late I had been rather broke. After looking at the options I had, I put it in AH for 150G buyout. I sent out a few tells in trade to get a feel for our market on Eonar. Several 100G offers, no more. Went to work after posting with the 150G buyout. At the end of the day I really wanted the dagger. I decided money will come and go but that dagger is rare. Came home and it sold. Since then i have done about 60 runs of SFK and no dagger. I will continue to go through until I find another. I refuse to pay that much for a low level weapon. I also refuse to give up. I will be keeping a tally of how many runs it takes from here on out and will post again with results. It takes my 44 hunter about an hour to run through the entire keep. killing everything. I usually make 2-3 runs a day. Here goes nothing!

had the shadowfang&cruel barb for awhile, got the assassin's blade for 15g. I have a lifestealing on the SF&CB, and i thought i would try a +15agi on the assassin's blade. The extra agi comes in handy with the exta dodge and crit chance. I miss my extra LS proc tho.

There i was on my 60 pala with my lvl 25 m8 begging me to take him SFK i finally said yes on the first run i get to a tormented guard or something like that and then im like OMG shadowfang has droped i told my m8 we would sell and split so he let me get it , we got to arugal and the meteor shard drop unfortunately my m8 is a warlock who doesnt need it . After another few minutes i decide to take him again and almost at the same mob Assassins blade drop and again im LIKE OMG! . i told him id split cash once i had them both i decided to make a rogue twink and just gave my m8 25g he seemed happy enough :p

I have a dilemma, although it's a good one. I have 2 assassin's blades and a shadowfang. Do I go Shadowfang/assassin's blade or assasin's blade/assassin's blade. With Shadowfang I will lose ambush...etc but higher dps...any suggestions would be welcome

For future reference to those who are farming for this, the whole percentage (as in killing everything that has a possibility of dropping ) is %1.19. Based on this, I can say that you would probably have to run the instance 84.03 times to have a 100% chance of this dropping

Got this drop while running a lowbie priest through SFK, the only place to get this random drop. He got pretty much all of the cool cloth drops, I got the blade. Sold it at the Orgrimmar auction house for 40g in 10 minutes flat. I have no doubt I could get more for it. You'd be amazed how many twinks Burning Blade has. We have these blades running all over the place with a lifestealing enchant on them.

this is soo bloody hard to get i've run the instance at least 15 times (killing pretty much everything), ....i managed to get a night reaver to drop, i only wish i had gotten the dagger instead :( i'm on one of the newer servers, Scilla, if anyone has this plz pst Talaris or Lustrial. ...oh yea and if u have Feet of the Lynx pst me aswell i still need those.

So...

I didn't feel like paying 275G on my server for Assassin's Blade so I grabbed my 60 Hunter and went to SFK myself.

First run was nothing, second Black Malice dropped and on the third run Assassin's Blade dropped.

Now my Prison Shank has a new friend.

Will come back to SFK time and time again on my 60, a few of these and you have your 60 mount money.

I got this blade lastnight for my 19 Twink rogue. This Blade completed my Twink. Some guy was selling it for 300g.... I talked him down to 130g. I still spent a lot but was able to get it for a pretty good price from what he started the bid at.

I honestly feel like the luckiest guy on WoW atm...

Am levelling a rogue twink to replace my defias rogue half twink, and had the usual many runs for cruel barb and defias armor in deadmines etc.

but yesterday, things got better:

I ran one Wailing Caverns, got Leggings of the Fang, Lizardscale cloak and Venomstrike, everything I wanted, as well as picking up talbar mantle item.

I also stopped by SFK, and on my first run, a Shadowfang Glutton gave me Shadowfang. I kept pushing my luck over another 2 runs after, but nothing else of note.

Woke up today and felt my luck was still in, so I headed off to SFK again, and another 2 runs without anything, so thought I'd give it one mroe reset and had just cleared the butcher when a not so friendly glutton entered the room.

Turns out he just wanted to give me another blue weapon, Assassin's blade.

On the downside though, I now have to pay for enchants on a cruel barb for my offhand (+15 agi) and on Assassin's blade AND Shadowfang. Anyone got suggestions for which on which weapon?

After roughly ten runs I didn't get my hands on this dagger. However, I did see the rare named about four out of the ten times. If you're selling this on Wildhammer I will pay incredibly well.

I made an Excel spreadsheet and inputted all the mobs in Shadowfang Keep along with the drop rates for each of the bind on equip blue items that drop there.

I then multiplied each mob's drop rate by the average number of that type of mob in each instance (based on an average of several runs) to get the number of runs it would take to get each item on average.

I have calculated the drop rate to be:

Assassin's Blade: 1 in 85 runs
Shadowfang: 1 in 100 runs
Either Assassin's Blade or Shadowfang: 1 in 45 runs
Any bind on equip blue item: 1 in 5 runs

I did not include chests in the calculations since some are locked and not everyone is able to open them (Rogues or blacksmiths ftw).

So the guy who posted a 1.15% was pretty close. I came up with 1.12% (1 in 85).

You may turn your nose up at paying 100g but if you were an herbalist, think how many high level herbs you could pick in the same time it takes to farm one of these (e.g. dreamfoil 15g stack). You'd be MUCH better off just buying it. If you like farming lowbie instances (I do sometimes), that's cool, go for it. If you want to be efficient with your time, don't.

30 Runs and counting. This dagger has yet to drop, top that off with the fact that after all those runs, killing everything in the instance, I have yet to even see Deathsworn Captain. I will continue my endless hunt for this dagger, until it is in my rogue's inventory. Congrats to anyone that has found this dagger, enjoy it, it's a nice one.

OK, idc about how you dudes play, but those prices are outrageous, ivge sold three of these and have taken many lowbies through SFK for free cuz i was bored. Ive sold 3 of these for 10G apiece b/c theyre lowbie swords, at a lowbie price, get a life and work for your Gs like i do, thats what professions are for. Overpricing Noobs.

Think of it like this, ofcourse your charging a ton of cash for a powerful lowbie item because of such things as BG twinks. In the 10-19 bg's a weapon like this is feared and revered, and a lowbie, of no wow experience and probably level 12 in the 10-19's shouldn't be carrying this weapon for the pure fact... they dont deserve it yet.

The 10-19 alts, deserve such weaps sense they've put so much into the game already, why not give them some incentive, for the extra motivational boost.

Then some level 19 guy is pouncing about with about 6000g in their pocket, for the best weaps for their levels and echants. You dont necessarily want to place the Assassin's Blade at a low price
( rofl, I bought mine for 60s I'm not lying lol, on a PvP server too - Tichondrious / Horde - ) because you dont want some lowbie buying it, then throwing it away two levels later...

And besides, they're merchants as you are, they can price their wears at whatever price they want. If they make money off high prices and you make money from low prices, dont complain your both still getting paid... only he's getting paid more :3

There i was Running a m8 thorugh SFK and Pow Shadowfang i was Like ZAMAGAD! then i decided to run him thorugh again and POW assassins blade i was Like Omg Omg i sold for 100g each i think i coulda got more i saw some noob trying to buy it for 300g afterwards i was pissed off

As previous posts have stated, this is BiS for low-level Rogues (especially 10-19 twinks), and an extremely rare drop at about 1 in 5,000 kills or 0.1%. Can drop from any mob in Shadow Fang Keep (SFK), which in my opinion just makes it annoying to farm since you have to loot EVERYTHING to make sure you don't miss it and can't just kill a boss and reset for another chance.

Thus far in classic the prices I've seen are, unsurprisingly, very high. I play on Bigglesworth and am seeing asking prices upwards of 700g. Players who want the best twinks could spend months farming this to no avail, so if time is money, buying these daggers and mowing down the competition in WSG could be well worth the investment!

Was lucky enough to have this drop for me today on my very first Classic run through SFK! Tempted to keep it and create a twink Rogue lol... but if anyone on Bigglesworth is interested in buying, PST Enkwol. I'm assuming that prices will eventually be much closer to Vanilla or Retail values and that one of these can be had for 200-500g, depending on server of course.

On a sidenote, be on the lookout for noobs who may not know any better auctioning this for cheap as another ordinary dungeon blue. This is no ordinary weapon in the hands of a geared Rogue. I found that out years ago getting crushed in the 10-19 bracket! Now if I see the Assassin's Blade I run away.

Miraculously got this to drop from a stray Son of Arugal I found wandering Silverpine Forest, just north of Sepulcher. It's a lvl 25 Elite that I managed to kite/solo on my lvl 23 Mage. Thought it just an ordinary Blue at first, until I looked it up on here and my local AH.
