Used at Chromagaus in BWL by hunters MT and MT healers. Was hoping for some sensible information here but obviously that was expecting way too much.
Indeed used at the Chromo fight in BWL. Chromo has a stunning debuff, uncleansable, unless you have hourglass sand. This debuff will stun you every 4 seconds, for 4 seconds. It is resisted a lot though. Mages and other casters usually have to do this fight with the debuff on, healers, tanks and hunters will get some to cure themselves from the debuff.
Vael's debuff Burning Adrenaline isn't cured by ice block or pally shield or any other effect, and its the same with Chromaggus.
Ice Block removes the bronze affliction. It's a 10 minute debuff and kicks in now and then. You remove the actual debuff.
divine intervention would be useful for BA if some idiot wouldnt move when they had BA and using DI would save the raid ;)
We have gathered enough of these so we also give them to the hunters since they have to cast Tranquilizing Shot on Chromaggus.
I merely used two sands in our last fight...
You have to use it against the whirlwind debuff which the Death Talon Wyrmguards cast on melee attackers.
Also for Chromaggus
What is it for?
The sand should go to the MT, the MT healers and the OT (in case you have time lapse).Giving this to dps classes would be a waste of resources.

I've heard tales of a cavern deep,
Where Timelines converge, and Dragons sleep,
If on your journey, this place you meet
Do not eat the sand.
