One of the better necklaces before you start doing endgame, also now that agility has been down-sized for hunters, that makes this necklace all the more useful.
How do you get this?
end of some quest thing in stratholme.
After we killed some named undead guy .. i think he was on horse ..an NPC walked by and fell to the ground. Taked to him and got the item as reward. The named undead was in a room after killing a bunch of abomination things on the undead side of stratholme. wish i could be more descriptive , but is was really late when we finally finished and it was kind of a blurr
You can complete the quest to get this in a full raid, and all that's required is that one member of the raid turns in the Medallion of Faith to the NPC at the beginning of the raid.
Very easy to do with a 10 man raid, and a pretty nice neckpiece for melee classes.
In living strath you pick up a medallion of something or other from a chest in a room with a named.
Back right at the beginning of dead strath outside the service entrance there's a ruined chapel, inside is aurius, give him the medallion and he says "When you face rivendare, I shall be there with you."
Go through the instance like normal, then when you engage rivendare, aurius /yell's "RIVENDARE! i HAVE COME FOR YOU!" and joins the fight with your team, he seems to be a paladin NPC as he uses excorsism on rivendare and heals himself.
after you defeat rivendare, aurius starts walking away and says "Argh!" and falls over, he tells you that rivendare has mortally wounded him and that he will die in peace there knowing he has helped defeat the great death knight, and you have a choice of this necklace or a nice ring for heavy INT users (shammies, paladins, mages, etc).
The necklace was a great upgrade from my gemshard heart
-Rombie, 60 troll hunter.
What is the name of the quest? I would really like this for my character once I hit level 60.
Just wondering if you can do this a second time and get the neck or are you stuck with one or the other. I have the ring but would really like the neck too. Anyone know for sure? What makes me think you can is because last week while doing scarlet strath, i was able to open the box with the medalion of faith in it. I didnt take it cause someone else had never done the quest so let them have it. But if i can loot medalion again, then what would stop me from giving to paly in church again. Sure would be nice if i could. =)
can u get twice?
is this better than woven ivy necklace.. im a rogue and ive heard it both ways ... im assasination spec'd and the will of the martyr doesnt really addd that much dps. just wondering what is better
I gave the medallion to aurius in the chapel at strat....
he runs in jumps baron....
aurius then drops over .....
I click him ...window opens...
he says he's wounded and is going to die..then says goodbye
but he does not offer me the quest rewards..the rewards are not in the window..(will of martyr)
anyone have any ideas...u just need to talk to him after he drops over right? amI doing something wrong
Would a paladin take this nack over the ring, Your probably one of those paladins that charges in with a 2h and dies with full mana.
Reckoning bomb pallys can use the extra AP from this neck. Screw intel.
Yes you can get the neck and the ring ... the quest is repeatable.
Iruleyou 60 War
No quest in WoW is repetable unless you get the blue question mark above the NPC..
Well, turning in librams for enchants is a quest... after you click "I present you with a libram of resiliance" (for example) he gets a yellow "!" over his head even if you do it multiple times... it is never a blue "?"
With mediocre gear I would rather take 15 AP over +1 crit and dodge and armor are pointless because mitigating physical damage is almost useless in PvE.
This is practically as good as amulet of the darkmoon and much easier to get. Sadly I didn't know about this neck until after stealth farming thorium in silithus for about 6-8 hours if not more. Still, it's .6% crit better, but it's not worth the total boredom.
The reason these necks are even remotely comparable is blizzards itemization formula. 1 str = 1 AP for rogues. In the itemization formula blizzard uses to design items of a specific quality you get AP for almost half the price of str. There's also an exponent of 1.5 on each individual stat cost to make items that pump a single stat over priced. If you can, you'd want +crit, +hit, +AP, +sta etc. rather than an item adding only a huge amount of any one of these.
Pimp item. I love it.
