Welcome to Wowhead's Classic WoW Warrior leveling guide! In this guide, we will go over everything you need to know while leveling your Warrior in Classic WoW.
If you're looking for the Season of Discovery leveling guides for Warrior, be sure to check out our guides below --
Warrior DPS Warrior Tank
The guide goes over the best Warrior talent builds and the best Warrior questing zones, to improve your leveling time, available weapon skills for Warrior, best Warrior stat, and more. We also have tips for when should you go buy spells and which spells to buy, which is a key part to get your mount as fast as possible. Besides that, we have recommendations on the best Warrior leveling gear, what pieces to aim for while leveling and more to ensure you reach level 60 quickly.
Ease of Leveling a Warrior in Classic WoW
The
战士
Class is one of the most difficult painstaking classes to level, due largely to the inability to heal or escape dangerous circumstances. While they can be very powerful damage dealers, it often requires taking a considerable amount of damage, which slows them down as they stop to heal between each pull, making for a slow leveling process in general. They do best when partnered with a healer in order to mitigate those weaknesses, though their general lack of mobility and escape tools still leaves them vulnerable to being overwhelmed. By max level, they make the best tanks and one of the best damage dealers in the game.
Top Things You Shouldn't Miss While Leveling a Warrior in Classic WoW
Here are just a few things to keep in mind while leveling your
战士
.
Complete your
战士
quests to gain stance abilities! These quests also grant powerful armor and weapons that will make all the difference on your leveling.
As Warriors have access to a wide variety of weapons, keeping them all equally leveled will make all the difference when you obtain a new weapon.
Save up gold so you can purchase your
mount
at level 40, and at 60, too.
When approaching
levels 50 and up
, begin checking out your Pre-Raid BiS gear and where it drops. You can begin farming certain dungeons early on, while still gaining XP, to obtain some of that Pre-Raid BiS gear before 60.

Warrior Leveling Talents in Classic WoW
Below we will outline some common builds for Warriors leveling to 60 in Classic WoW, with links to separate guide pages describing them in greater detail.
Arms Warrior Leveling - Questing, Dungeons, and PvP in Classic WoW
Warriors are generally recommended to level as Arms in Classic WoW, due to the emphasis on high instant strike damage, the strong multi-target ability
, and only requiring one weapon rather than two. It is a very versatile build due to
, allowing the flexibility to easily switch between dealing damage or tanking dungeons as needed.
Arms Warrior Leveling - Questing, Dungeons, and PvP
Fury Warrior Leveling - Questing in Classic WoW
Fury can be quite effective, and is the premiere endgame damage dealing specialization, but it lacks the strong tools and accessibility of Arms. When purely fighting one target at a time, the damage can keep up quite well when using two competitive weapons, though the self healing gained is not enough to appreciably reduce downtime without a healer present, while
is just as deadly to you as the enemy, therefore it is not typically recommended, especially when frequently running dungeons or on PvP servers.
Fury Warrior Leveling - Questing
Protection Warrior Leveling - Tanking in Classic WoW
Although Protection Warriors are the very best tanks in the game at level 60, there's very little need for the tools provided by the specialization until that time. While leveling, tanking is much more a matter of holding threat rather than surviving damage, which Arms does much better. There are still some fun tools to play with however, and it many players may find tanking high level dungeons more comfortable as Protection, so it may be worth switching to Protection near the end of the leveling process, particularly when frequently running dungeons.

Spells to Buy while Leveling as a Warrior in Classic WoW
There's a common misconception that every skill and every rank is worth buying while leveling. In reality, many skills are used more often than others, and most higher ranks add very small amounts of damage which are easily passed over in favor of saving money in the early game. This path will save you a lot of travel time, as well as a lot of gold that can go toward buying your first mount at level 40.
Which spells you want to buy depend largely on how much time you plan to spend in dungeons. Follow the recommendations listed in the specialization guides for more detail:
Arms Spells To Buy
Fury Spells To Buy
Protection Spells To Buy
Warrior Leveling Rotation in Classic WoW
There isn't much difference between the specializations until level 30 or 40, although after that point, each spec will gravitate toward their keystone talents.
The guides below detail the rotation for each Warrior specialization in detail:
Arms Leveling Rotation
Fury Leveling Rotation
Protection Leveling Rotation
Warrior Dungeon Leveling in Classic WoW
Warriors are highly sought after for dungeons in Classic WoW, being the premiere tank and multitarget damage dealer. Regardless of the specialization chosen while leveling, any Warrior can and should tank dungeons whenever possible, as it largely correlates to simply dealing as much damage as possible in order to hold threat.
Rage management is the most important part of tanking dungeons, as the resource quickly decays while out of combat, and Warriors are unable to use the majority of their abilities without it. Auto attacking the last target of any particular combat in order to pool rage for the next pull is highly recommended, as is talenting into
and opening combat with
冲锋
whenever possible.
Warrior Dungeon Tank Rotation
All three Warrior specs can and should tank dungeons while leveling, even up to and including max level ones, although some players may find it easier to talent into Protection at that point, if tanking is what they intend to do full time.
The guide links below expand on tanking as each Warrior specialization while leveling in more detail:
Fury Warrior Tanking
Arms Warrior Tanking
Protection Warrior Tanking
Warrior Dungeon Cleave Setup
A very popular leveling strategy that has recently surfaced in WoW Classic is setting up a dungeon cleave group which specialize in mass pulling and bursting mobs down rather than the traditional way of progressing through dungeons pack by pack. While Warriors are exceptional damage dealers on the small scale, casters typically shine in these configurations, with the Warrior helping control mobs rather than tank or damage them outright. Follow the link below to find out more.

Warrior Trainer Locations in Classic WoW
You must train abilities, including their higher ranks, through Warrior Trainers. The Warrior Class Trainer guide details the locations of all Class Trainers as well as costs of all abilities. You can also check out the "Spells to Buy while Leveling as a Warrior" section of this guide for which are the very best abilities to train, and which you can skip to save gold.

Warrior Weapon Skills in Classic WoW
Warriors can equip every weapon except Wands, giving them a high degree of flexibility, although this also means more skills to train and keep leveled up in order to use those weapons. Warriors begin their Classic adventure a weapon and skill based on their race, while the others will need to be learned from weapon trainers in various capital cities.
Default Weapon Skills for Classic Warriors
Every Warrior race starts off with several weapons skills learned by default.

Be aware that not all cities have trainers for each weapon skills - there is no 2H Axe Trainer in Darnassus or Undercity, so you will have to go to Ironforge or Orgrimmar.

Best Weapons and Gear for Leveling a Warrior in Classic WoW
When leveling as a Warrior in Classic, weapon upgrades will always be the most impactful item you can get, therefore always having the best-possible weapon will make your leveling experience that much smoother.
Leveling Weapons for DPS Warriors
For DPSing and questing in general, you'll usually be prioritizing 2H weapons due to their higher DPS and greater damage range. Unless the options available are very similar, damage is more important than stats, so the DPS value can be used as a metric for comparison.
Shields are another important item, particularly in the early levels before you've trained new weapon skills or gained access to
拳击
. While you'll frequently use your regular two-handed weapon for almost every situation, including tanking, shields are crucial for better mitigating damage in late game dungeons and grant access to an extra interrupt ability,
. Do note, however, that this ability shares a cooldown with
拳击
.
Warrior Levelling Weapon Progression
There is a lot more to know about weapons while levelling and beyond, particularly once you reach maximum level with racial bonuses, hit, and weapon skill playing an important role in choosing the correct weapon. Our Warrior Weapons guide lists all popular Weapons and their levels/requirements, either for being Quest Rewards, easily crafted by professions, or easy drop from popular dungeons, so that you can know what areas to prioritize in order to keep your weapons as up to date as possible.
Warrior Weapons Guide
Stat Weights while Levelling a Warrior in Classic WoW
While levelling, you will replace gear fairly often, especially if you are frequently heading into dungeons, though some items with exceptional stats may stick with you longer than others. When comparing items, the required level is of less importance than what benefits it gives you:
Strength > Stamina > Armor > Agi > Spirit
Strength:
Is the most important stat, as it best scales damage and increases kill speed. While not every point of strength will be immediately measurable in each particular encounter, the cumulative effect of higher damage will have the greatest impact in total combat time.
Armor:
isn't strictly prioritized, but does contribute to sustainability while leveling, as the majority of enemies will deal physical damage.
Agility:
increases critical strike chance and slightly contributes to sustain by increasing your chance to dodge. While some players would argue that Agility should be prioritized more, as a lucky critical strike is more likely to end combats sooner, it lacks the sustained damage potential and is never as good as Strength in terms of increasing damage. However, the minor increase to armor and the damage reduction of dodge should not be dismissed - taking less damage allows you to level faster, and can keep you alive in rough situations. For players leveling alongside healers, Agility can be prioritized on par with or above Stamina, although defensive stats should not be neglected entirely if tanking or leveling on PvP servers.
Spirit:
is a very controversial stat, as Warriors have the best health regeneration per point of spirit at a rate of Spirit * 0.8 + 6. That said, health regeneration only works out of combat (except for Trolls, which is penalized to the point of being negligible) and what you gain in reducing downtime by stacking Spirit, you lose in increasing combat time due to a lack of other stats. Combat will generally take longer, causing you to take relatively more damage, which then requires more time spent out of combat healing it back up, while also being more prone to accidental death. Although you could build a set of Spirit gear to swap to while out of combat for the sole purpose of regenerating health without bandages or food, doing so ends up requiring a lot of more gold over the course of the leveling process and takes up more bag space than the consumables do, while also leaving you prone to being pulled into combat by patrols or PvP players while wearing your Spirit gear. Due to these reasons, although Spirit does have strong benefits for a Warrior, it is not recommended to prioritize over other combat stats, unless there is a particularly large disparity between them; the amount of passive Spirit on gear you will want to use anyway is generally enough.
Items which grant additional
Chance to Hit
and
Critical Strike Chance
are harder to define, as their values shift dramatically depending on the rest of your gear. Generally speaking, these stats are much more important in the endgame and fairly rare during the leveling process, but they are still worth using whenever they're available.
Best Warrior Leveling Professions in Classic WoW
工程学
is hands down the best profession when it comes to min/maxing due exclusive bombs and gadgets which require Engineering skill in order to use. That said, many choose to prioritize
锻造
in order to craft many powerful and expensive pieces of gear which can then be used or sold for profit, such as
狮心头盔
and
魔法瑟银护腿
.
Both skills pair well with
采矿
as well. Unfortunately Engineering does not have very many useful patterns while leveling, and although Blacksmithing can make useful gear, obtaining relevant level patterns becomes continually more difficult.
炼金术
can be a very attractive alternative due to the Warrior's lack of self healing, particularly since none of the Blacksmithing crafted items are BoE without actually requiring the profession in order to use.
should also be prioritized, and kept leveled as much as possible to help with healing, although it is considered a secondary profession, which does not take the place of others, similar to
烹饪
and
钓鱼
.
Warrior Class Quests in Classic WoW
In WoW Classic, all classes have special quests that are unique to them, providing unique experiences and, more importantly, rewards. For a
战士
, you will go through quest chains in order to learn different combat stances and obtain valuable pieces of gear.
At level 10, you will go through a series of class quests to learn
先锋
, a stance that is mostly used for tanking. Many defensive abilities can only be used in Defensive Stance such as
盾墙
and
.
You don't learn any new spells with your level 20 quests, but you do get the option of two chest pieces that will generate Rage on use:
野蛮锁甲
or
淬火锁甲
.
The best quests come at level 30! You will embark on a really flavorful quest chain that teaches you the
, an aggressive stance that sacrifices survivability for damage, as well as the choice of very powerful weapons such as the fabled
旋风之斧
!
After this, you will go without Class Quests until all the way to level 50, where you will go through a lengthy quest leading you to the
沉没的神庙
, allowing you to select powerful rewards: There are three rewards, but the most powerful reward by far is the
钻石水瓶
. For more information, check the Warrior section on our Sunken Temple Class Quest Guide.
Warrior Class Quests
Changes to Questing in Classic WoW
If you're coming to Classic from BFA or any recent expansion for that matter, there are going to be some changes in your questing experience that you will want to be ready for:
Quests and Objectives are not displayed on the map.
To put it: you will have to do some exploring. You will get lost at some point during a quest, and you might have to read the actual quest or go to an external website to find out what you are supposed to be doing. While there may someday be a leveling addon for Classic, part of the game "experience" is feeling immersed in the world and creating an adventure of your very own.
You may struggle to kill enemies.
As a
战士
especially, you don't have access to abilities like Victory Rush or Second Wind to sustain your health while questing. If it is your first time playing Classic, I would highly recommend leveling with a healer to reduce your death count.
Zones don't guarantee a certain amount of levels:
Once again, coming from BFA or one of the later expansions, you might be used to finishing a zone (Vol'Dun for instance) and expecting to be two levels higher. In Classic, the difficulty of zones vary, and especially as a
战士
, you will want to do a lower difficulty quest. You'll find yourself bouncing between a few zones at any given level range.
Best Warrior Questing Zones in Classic WoW
While questing is all about opportunity, exploration, and competition, you should be familiar with some of the better zones for each faction:
黑海岸
(11-19): Once you complete the starting area for your particular race, you begin to have options of where to go, where to quest, and for Alliance, in particular, one of the best early game zones is Darkshore.
洛克莫丹
(10-18): Second to Darkshore would be the Gnome/Dwarf 10-18 zone of Loch Modan. The zone isn't as rich as Darkshore, but, it has some relatively easy quests. This is a good place to come back to and complete the quests once you out-level the content.
西部荒野
(9-18): While these initial questing zones come down to preference, I would not suggest Westfall as a zone in regards to difficulty. However, if you have a group of friends you are leveling with, and you want to go into Deadmines for a quest run and get some higher item level rewards, this zone is worth considering.
赤脊山
(15-25): This is the level range where you will have to bounce between zones of equal difficulty if you want to fill your quest bar from questing alone. Forming an efficient route of the next few zones will be important to increase your leveling speed.
暮色森林
(20-30): This is probably one of my favorite zones; it's full of quests, full of flavor, and has a lot of solid upgrades. Don't miss out on this zone if you play Alliance.
湿地
(20-30): This is probably the last "Alliance only" zone, from here on out you will enter into zones that are contested by both Horde and Alliance.
北贫瘠之地
(10-33): This is the big one, as it is the meeting point for three of the four races of the Horde, this zone has no shortage of quests and will easily propel you toward level 20. As great as this zone is, be ready to compete for mob tags, as there will be a lot of players funneled into this one zone.
银松森林
(10-20): This is the Undead version of The Barrens; it has some decent quests to complete, but, I usually don't end up coming here at all.
石爪山脉
(15-25): Although this zone offers Alliance quests, it is almost entirely a Horde zone. This zone is fantastic as it is right next to the Barrens, and the level range of the two zones overlap.
希尔斯布莱德丘陵
(20-31): Home to the infamous Southshore vs. Tarren Mill world PvP spot, this zone has a lot of good quests for both Alliance and Horde and is usually worked into most people's leveling routes.
灰谷
(19-30): Another flavorful zone as this is the home to what will become Warsong Gulch, plenty of quests for both Alliance and Horde.
千针石林
(24-35): Home to the infamous Shimmer Flats, this is a great zone for both factions to get almost an entire level. It also has a questing hub for Horde.
北荆棘谷
(30-50): probably one of the most infamous zones in the whole of World of Warcraft, you will be coming to this zone off and on from level 30 and up towards level 50.
凄凉之地
(30-39): Home of the dungeon Maraudon, this is one of my favorite zones in the game, and I spend many levels here. There are both Horde and Alliance quest hubs here.
阿拉希高地
(30-40): This zone is home to the 2nd battleground Arathi Basin, there are two hubs here (one for each faction), and there are plenty of good kill quests here.
荒芜之地
(36-45): This is a quick and dirty zone, while it only has a hub for Horde; it is a quick level, and if you have enough players around your level you can do an Uldaman quest run.
塔纳利斯
(40-50): Home to the dungeon Zul'Farrak, I recommend questing here as well as doing a full quest run of ZF.
菲拉斯
(41-60): This is one of the less popular zones for people to quest at, it's worth coming here in your early 40s as there are plenty of quests for both factions.
灼热峡谷
(43-56): This zone is particularly exciting because you get your first taste of the end-game, On one side of Blackrock Mountain is a lower level zone with various quests coming from the Thorium Brotherhood.
燃烧平原
(50-59): The other side of Blackrock Mountain, this is a higher level zone and has hubs for both Horde and Alliance, you will probably come to this zone a couple of times as the level range is quite large. Some dungeon quests come from this zone.
费伍德森林
(47-54): This zone is a must-complete for me as the quests are quite good and you will need to come here to get your
塞纳里奥信标
, which is needed to farm various consumables like
鞭根块茎
.
安戈洛环形山
(48-55): This is another hot zone as it has a plethora of quests and will get you nearly two levels from completing the crater.
西瘟疫之地
(46-57): This zone is excellent for quick leveling, as you can complete the "cauldron" questline for massive amounts of experience. It's worth noting that you need a breadcrumb quest from your faction's major city.
东瘟疫之地
(54-59): Home to the legendary Naxxramas, this zone gives you another taste of the end-game immediately upon questing. You will spend a lot of time here even at max level.
冬泉谷
(55-60): This is an amazing zone, it has a ton of quests that give a ton of experience, and you can get
玛艾里的容器
, allowing you to farm Jujus, a very good consumable for raids.

Bag Space in Season of Mastery
One aspect of Classic leveling that many players, especially retail players, often forget is bag space. Unlike when you start a new expansion, starting in Classic means you only have your default backpack available, with meager 14 items lots.
To ease that off, there are some bags that you can easily obtain at the start of the game:
亚麻包
- Created by Tailors. Requires
裁缝
skill level 45 and takes 6x
亚麻布
, obtained from Humanoid enemies, and 3x
粗线
, purchasable at
Tailoring supplies vendors
.
If you have the necessary materials, try asking in General Chat or Trade Chat if any Tailor could help you making that bag. If you find someone, make sure to tip them for their help!
棕色小袋
- Dropped by many different humanoid mobs and sold by
select vendors in early game
for around .
科多兽皮包
- Created by Leatherworkers. Requires
制皮
skill level 40 and is learned from
图样:科多兽皮包
, which is only sold by a Horde vendor. Alliance players may get this pattern by using the Neutral AH in Gadgetzan. Requires 3x
薄科多兽皮
, 4x
轻皮
, and 1x
粗线
.

Closing Thoughts on Leveling a Warrior in Classic WoW
Quality of Life changes have been implemented over the years:
If you are coming from
Battle for Azeroth
, there are going to be a lot of not-so-friendly changes that make questing harder, or at least take more time. Quests and objectives won't be marked on your map, so you will have to do a lot more exploring. There won't be a steady stream of quests from 1-60, so you will have to combine questing and grinding enemies for the experience to level. There's no AoE looting, and quest items take space in your bags. Cooldown abilities are available much less frequently, and there's significantly less personal healing, which adds much more downtime in between pulls as you sit and eat or use First Aid/Alchemy to heal. Playing efficiently is the best thing you can do to speed up your leveling.
Play Fury or Arms for leveling:
There are only two specs for leveling, and both use two-handed weapons for damage. While leveling, I recommend playing as Arms, as both damage dealt and taken are more consistent. I play Arms whenever I level due to an extra layer of danger that Fury adds to the equation. It's also worth noting that with a healer Fury's extra incoming damage is negated, so can be the stronger option with no downside.
Grouping is incredibly important for Warriors:
Although I didn't cover this explicitly in this guide, Warriors are one of the worst classes to solo as and I would highly recommend leveling with a group as often as possible; I level in a 5 man until level 30 and then grind solo to 60. It's especially worth finding a dedicated healer to level with, and, if you're playing Horde, Shamans are especially useful for Windfury.
Buy abilities only when needed:
A lot of people don't think it is possible to afford a mount by level 40, in reality, it's much easier as long as you only buy the necessary spell upgrades to save money. It's also worth noting that following this guide for buying spells will save you a lot of travel time as flights back to major cities or your questing hub can take a lot of time away from leveling.
Weapon upgrades are significant for Warriors:
The biggest upgrade you will get is a better weapon, you should be ready to put forth the extra time and/or effort to get the best weapons for leveling. Some of them come from quests, while others can be bought from a vendor. Getting yourself a Whirlwind weapon will be a pivotal moment in your leveling experience.
I hope this guide was helpful, and I hope to see a lot of
战士
out there leveling with me in
World of Warcraft: Classic

Just a mention to this guide cause it seems to be missing completly but i want to do dungeons while leveling and i will main a prot Warrior from what i saw people use defensive stance with a shield and a one hander there isn't a dedicated section to this in the guide which is extremely sad since this is for a dps point of view guide but if you plan on tanking most likely you will have to dump points into prot spec and also have proficiency with one-handers and shields and have a complelty different rotation in that regards.

This guide is missing some important information.
1) Hamstring Kiting. This technique is very important if you want to minimize damage taken. For most of your time leveling as a warrior you're going to be using a 2h weapon which will have a much slower swing speed than your NPC enemy's autoattack timer. By using the hamstring kiting method you can reduce damage taken during leveling by almost 50%! See
this video
for an example. A swing timer addon helps tremendously with this technique. If you've ever wondered why addons like quartz include a swing timer, this is why!
2) Revenge ability. If you plan to tank any dungeons during leveling (you should, it is not very difficult and you will get groups instantly. You can also tank as fury or arms with no problem) then you'll want revenge. It generates a huge amount of threat on a single target and costs very little rage. Keeping up shield block and spamming revenge will make tanking pretty easy. Make sure you buy this ability during leveling!

Fellow Warriors,
I'm so sick and tired all this 2-Hander-bias. Many of you seem to have this misconception that Dual Wielding isn't ideal, because you'll miss a lot. This is simply false. What are the reasons that you actually want Hit % at max level, when raiding while Dual Wielding? A) The target is 3 levels above you, so it's necessary (Higher Def vs Weapon Skill = Higher miss chance). B) It increases your Crit-cap (Which you'll only reach while raiding).
Notice neither of these reasons mention anything about mobs on your level or leveling?
Dual wielding is more than just viable while leveling: It's in fact superior. Everyone praises 2-Hand leveling, but most of them also forget to mention that half the reason that you even go 2-Hander is so that you're not completely useless in PvP.
So why is DW Fury superior I hear you ask? It has sustain (Blood Craze + Bloodthirst). Something that Arms can only dream about. True, It's not much sustain, but it's enough to make it so you only have to bandaid once every 8th mob, instead of every 3rd, which is huge: If you have to use First Aid too often, you'll still have the debuff and need to eat instead.
The synergies between abilities, talents and weapons are also far superior for the "Fury + DW"-combo (HS/OP/Unbridled Wrath/Flurry-charges (vs duration) + faster MH than a 2-Hander). All of this results in far less down time and higher DPS, and therefore higher XP / hour. It doesn't suffer from the bane of 2-Hander specs' existence: Bad RNG. If you miss with a 2-Hander, then you do ZERO damage, and get ZERO rage. So you're just standing there like a tool, for almost 4 seconds, doing absolutely nothing. But if you miss while DWing? No worries - You'll swing again in about 1 sec.
Because of all this, your damage, and therefore clearing, is much more reliable and less risky. You're less likely to get in tricky situations, or even die, to "bad luck".
The two main reasons you'd ever want to use a 2-Hander while leveling would be, A) PvP, and B) AoE (For dungeons). That's it. So dual wielding is consistent, has sustain, and better single target DPS. It is, in fact, the superior method for questing and PvE, in general. Yes, you'll miss more with auto attacks, but it's still better than using a Two-Hander, despite that. Now, if you are in fact playing on a PvP server? Go for a Two-Hander, no question about it. Just remember why: Because of PvP - Not because it's good for PvE. There's a reason why most people hate leveling up Warriors in Vanilla: This is why.
Also, let's be realistic here: No Warrior is going to get Whirlwind Axe at level 30 right after launch, unless you have a party of 5-10 people helping you kill level 39-40 mobs. If you want to solo this quest, you'll be lucky to get it done by level 40. It's long, tiring and difficult. Don't just think "Oh, now I'm level 30 - Time for my free level 40 weapon!". That's not how it works. If you are in fact getting close to level 40, then I recommend just getting Ravager (or Mograine's Might) from SM instead. They are almost as good, and WAY easier to get.
Don't just blinding go with a 2-hander, because every single copy-paste guide on the internet, tells you to - Think for yourself.
Thank you.
Also also, a little side note: Arms with DWing is absolutely more desirable than Fury with DWing when leveling, until level 40:
I always bee-line for Improved Overpower, in Arms, and use 1H+Shield until level 20 (Because all you have at this point is Heroic Strike, and it's ass with a 2-Hander), at which point I switch to DW'ing, while I continue to spec into Arms (DW + HS + Imp Overpower-synergy is CRAZY). It's only at level 40 that I respec and put all my points into Fury, for Bloodthirst. And then I restart taking all the points in Arms, until I eventually get to level 60. This method is tried and tested and it works beautifully. As long as you're smart about what you Charge into, and use a ranged weapon to pull when Charge isn't an option, this is a very safe and easy way to level-up as a Warrior, in Vanilla.
Edit:
A bit more about Raiding and itemization of specs:
The amount of Hit % that Fury ideally should get, when raiding isn't as high as people think. Once you get the yellow hit-cap (9%) and the Crit-Cap for DWing (10%), the EP-value of Hit plummets straight down. This is true for both Fury and Arms, 2-Hander or Dual Wielding. In fact, the amount of Hit that DWing wants, isn't any higher than 2-Handed in the first many raids of Vanilla. It's only when you reach AQ/Naxx that the stat-budget gets so big for the itemization, that DWing opting for a little bit more Hit, than 2-Handed, is optimal. 1-2% more than 2-Handed, to be exact (10-11%, instead of 8-9%).

Remember, guys with the warrior in the heart - Vanilla is not for efficiency, it's for the soul. So, of course, pick up a group, and take a
defensive stance
. Wielding TF at the Orgrimmar' central square, you will see the sky above, the roofs on the lane and everyone other below.

Is it possible to level as an protection warrior?
yes i know it will probably take a little longer. but i wouldn't care. i just don't want to hit a mob for 2 hours and go into instances as a tank at the same time.

Reposting the most upvoted comment on this guide cause it got deleted for absolutely no reason whatsoever:
A couple of remarks from someone that played a warrior during Vanilla and on Nostalrius, Elysium and Light's Hope:
There is absolutely no way you will ever want to prioritise agility over stamina, the amount of crit, armor and dodge you gain from agility is so low at low levels(20agi=1%crit at level 60, it scales differently per level but still too low at low levels) cause most items won't even get close to having high agility on them until way later in the game. While on the other hand having that 50 more HP from 5 stamina might actually save you. You wouldn't even prioritise spirit over stamina. Mobs will dodge, parry, block your attacks, and you will miss yours. Not to mention caster mobs, spell damage ignores your armor, your mail or plate won't help here, only a bigger health pool will. You can always ask a mage to conjure food to save money on food, it will regenerate you fast enough between those fights.
Don't forget you get
盾击
as your only interrupt at level 12 and won't have
拳击
until you complete the
狂暴姿态
quest at 30 and are lvl 38. There isn't even any mention on how hard caster mobs can be for a warrior before you have
拳击
and
拦截
or a mention about
拳击
at all.
You can swap weapons during combat but it resets your auto attack swing timer and causes a GCD so you can't just instantly equip a shield and interrupt. Important to know if you want to swap a one hander and shield to interrupt with shield bash or just to be tankier when pulling mobs and running through them.
You will also definitely want to train
血性狂暴
at level 10. That sacrifice of health for rage can be just enough to interrupt your mob with pummel, or to fear mobs with
破胆怒吼
when you want to run through them.
No idea why you don't want to put talent points in improved heroic strike while levelling. It is your only source of damage at early levels besides auto attacking, rend barely does anything. You also didn't mention how heroic strike works, it's "on your next swing" which is very important what that means for people who never played a warrior in vanilla, tbc or wrath. Because it makes you use rage to empower your next auto attack but that auto attack will not give you rage anymore so it is very rage starving to spam heroic strike, thus making it cheaper means you can sacrifice more auto attacks to be used as a heroic strike.
Westfall is a must to level as alliance, it's easy running, Sentinel Hill, the main quest hub, is in the middle of the map, easy terrain(e.g. unlike Ashenvale). Lots of quests that just say "kill X amount of something" not to mention the Deadmines quest chain which give
西部荒野马裤
that last until at least Gnomeregan, there's no way you want to skip it, especially not as human since you start already in Elwynn Forest.
No mention of
重拳先生的大锤
or
工头战斧
from Deadmines, pretty much BiS for alliance warriors from 18 to 30. No mention of
咬骨之斧
as alliance only reward from the SM quest. Another good item to replace whirlwind axe with is
烈焰之怒
from an easy boss in BRD, can perfectly do it at lvl 55.
No explanation on how
致死打击
functions with the min and max damage of your weapon. Before you can spec into Mortal Strike, the min and max and speed of your two hander is kinda irrelevant, you just want highest total dps and best stats. Once you have mortal strike, you will notice it's an instant strike and it will use a value of your min-max dmg from your two hander (amplified with your attack power ofc). Meaning the slower weapons have higher min max damage and are always gonna give you the most damage, you never want to wield a fast two hander once you got mortal strike, unless it's a massive itemlvl difference and will even with the fast speed, still have higher min max.
Levelling as fury and dual wielding is playing the game on hardmode, you just don't want to. Fury warriors do the highest dps(along with rogues) in raids later on but even when you just dinged 60 you won't feel it, the amount of attack power hit and crit you need for it to be powerful, is high. Levelling as fury with a two hander is more doable.
That's just a few very important things that pop to my mind right now, this guide is nicely built but incomplete and the stat prio is completely wrong. No offense but it doesn't surprise me you had to be in a 5 man group until level 30 lol.

For those whom did ask. While I have mained Prot Warrior since Vanilla all the way up, I have to admit in Vanilla and TBC it isn't.. very good for leveling. However, if you are committed to the strife and struggles of which there will be; there is one certain path. Get a static group. Remember that as said earlier, grouping is important for Warriors.. well surprise. Grouping in general is very important, their is a ton of grouping based quests and dungeons and you need a party. While finding rando's is a solid option, if you have friends or guildies from other games you can count on, do it.
You will be fine with a group for certain, and while you offer far less damage you will take less making it easier for the healers to maintain their dwindling Mana as it drains fast in the past. Others may not agree, but I have a full static with a healer so.. I too will be leveling Protection Warrior, as a Dwarf.. like the lord says. For Khaz fing Modan people.
PS: If you do plan on Soloing, or don't have a group. Sadly, I have to say.. yes. Going Arms or Fury or a blend of the two is.. really the only option you won't feel miserable about.

Just want to say, Duskwood is definitely not lvl 10-30. Lowest quest is 18.

my dudes... if you're going to level arms, put the first 5 points into cruelty, then follow this guide.
at level 40, pay for a respec and take mortal strike.
edit to add: i ended up taking a respec at 30 to pick up sweeping strikes.

Switching weapon to interupt a cast? With shield bash incurring a longer global cooldown than most casts? In vanilla atleast switching weapon is basically useless stick to your 2handed your dmg is worth more until pummel shows up unless youre tanking in a dungeon and have the rage for it forget shield bashing.

Hey Krug and everyone else. I like this guide a lot. I wanted to have a quick reference to the talent recommendations here so I created this graphical representation of the build and progression. I can't post links because I'm a new register at WoWHead, but if you search Imgur for
"Arms Warrior Leveling Talent Progression"
it may turn up, or feel free to message me on Discord
@Xav#2795
. Cheers

I don't think you can train Two-Handed Swords in Ironforge.

So for the last 15 years, everybody fights about which way is the best: 2-hand or duel-wide.
Also everybody cries about how hard it is to level a warrior.
Well... maybe you all have your problems cause of this.
I level warrior with a hybrid spec, spending my points on all 3 trees, respec 2-3 times till 60, using most of time a one hand with shield, and fight most times in def stance (well doing your stance dance for overpower, execution, etc.)
With the right use off your consumables (mostly your bandages, but also pots and buff food, if you have) you can minimize your reg times, don't be afraid off adding mobs or fighting two a time, and your reduce your death count.
Maybe you need more time to kill a single mob, but overall it feels way more faster und you don't have to struggle the whole time.
Edit: Don't forget, as tank you always have dungeons groups and can spend most off your time there, doing all the pres while solo leveling and running all dungeon quests can push you fast forward cause they all give massiv exp. And don't forget the loot.

So the Arms and Fury spells and talents have been moved to another page. The talents are on their respective spec guides (at least Arms is) but the spells and all that are incomplete on their respective spec pages, which is annoying because as of yesterday they were all on this page.

Hi you seem to ommit that the reason you should be taking BOOMING VOICE is that if you play on a PvP server you will be ganked by rogues. By having Booming Voice you will spam Demo Shout and get those rogues out of stealth and then you got them where you want them. If you play on PvE server disregard. Booming Voice= very good in PvP. In addition you need the big crits which is why you do not want to switch weapons often in your lvl 30s to 50. Try to get axes as much as possible weather it's WW axe or Bonebiter. Otherwise great job buddy :). We can also agree to disagree, there is not only 1 good way to do things.
