Welcome to the Wowhead comprehensive guide to the Soulbind Conduits system in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Here you will find details on how to acquire Conduits, how to socket them, and Conduit ranks.
Conduit Updates for Shadowlands Patch 9.2: Eternity's End
There are no changes to Conduit functionality in Patch 9.2: Eternity's End. A selection of conduits drops from bosses in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid at the following iLevels:
Raid Difficulty
Conduit Item Level
Raid Finder
239
Normal
252
Heroic
265
Mythic
278
For more details check out our Sepulcher of the First Ones loot guide:
Sepulcher of the First Ones Raid Loot Drops
In addition to this, 4 items have been added allowing you to learn all available Conduits for your class, and upgrading them to a specific item level:
无穷熏香
teaches and upgrades all Conduits to ilvl 200;
幻磷伟力之泉
teaches and upgrades all Conduits to ilvl 226;
无尽潜能水瓶
teaches and upgrades all Conduits to ilvl 239;
深邃机遇容器
teaches and upgrades all Conduits to ilvl 278.
What are Conduits?
Conduits are items which allow an additional level of customization to your
Soulbind
with bonuses that are specific to your class and or spec. They are categorized into three types:
Potency
(Throughput),
Endurance
(Survival), and
Finesse
(Utility). Conduits have ranks which allow you to upgrade the power of your Conduits.
Potency Conduits
improve the power of your spells and are spec or Covenant specific. There are four for each DPS and Heals spec, two for Tank specs, and four Covenant specific Conduits.
Endurance Conduits
provide your class with additional defensive value through damage mitigation or increased healing. There are three Endurance Conduits available to all specs and another two available only to Tanks.
Finesse
conduits provide additional utility to your class. Each class has four Finesse Conduits which are usable by all specs.
Your Conduit choices are spec specific and will automatically change when you switch specs.
A Conduit can only be be used once per Souldbind at a time, ie. if you are using a particular Conduit in a Soulbind socket, you can't reuse that Conduit in a different socket for that same Soulbind. You can, however, use that Conduit in a different Soulbind.
To check out the Conduits for each class, check out the following guides:
Death Knight Soulbind Conduits
Demon Hunter Soulbind Conduits
Druid Soulbind Conduits
Hunter Soulbind Conduits
Mage Soulbind Conduits
Monk Soulbind Conduits
Paladin Soulbind Conduits
Priest Soulbind Conduits
Rogue Soulbind Conduits
Shaman Soulbind Conduits
Warlock Soulbind Conduits
Warrior Soulbind Conduits
With each Soulbind offering different bonuses as well as different Conduit slots in different locations, there's a great deal more customization and power progression related to Covenants than just the class ability they offer. Between 3 swappable Soulbinds and 3-6 respeccable branching paths for each, the Conduit limitation would not appear to be too severe, as there should be more than enough permutations to setup a branch for each build, or even dedicate an entire Soulbind to different specs if so desired.
Where to Get Conduits
Conduits can be acquired as rewards from playing max level content: Dungeons, PvP, Raids, Reputations, World Quests, etc. Most Conduits will be available from more than one source, allowing flexibility of acquisition across content types.
Conduits drop as personal loot and drop separately from the loot table, that is to say, if you are going to get a Conduit drop, it will drop in addition to the other loot that may drop, not in place of it. Conduits are not tradeable.
Conduits have a
persistent collections system
, similar to Essences in Battle for Azeroth. When you acquire a Conduit, you add it to your Conduit collection in the Soulbinds interface. When you acquire a higher ranking version of a Conduit that you have already collected, adding it to your collection upgrades your current version, making it more powerful.
You can also purchase
无拘现实碎片
from Ve'nari, the Broker in the Maw. This can be used to add a Conduit that you do not already own to your collection. Purchasing this item will cost you and you must have reached
Cordial Reputation
with Ve'nari.

Conduit Ranks
Each Conduit has 15 Conduit Ranks. Conduit descriptions include one or more bolded values. The Conduit Ranks are modifiers which apply to those bolded values similarly to Item Levels. For example:
This is a Mage Conduit:
断法之涌
(Finesse Conduit)
Successfully interrupting an enemy with
法术反制
reduces its cooldown by
2.5 sec
.
Ranks:
2.5, 2.8, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, 3.8, 4.0, 4.3, 4.5, 4.8, 5.0, 5.3, 5.5, 5.8, 6.0
This is the lowest Item Level version, Rank 1. At the highest Item Level, Rank 15, the Conduit would read:
Successfully interrupting an enemy with Counterspell reduces its cooldown by
6.0 sec
.
Ranks will drop based on the Item Level of the Conduit. A maximum rank of Rank 11 is possible in Shadowlands Season 3.

Upgrading Your Conduits
There are four items available in Patch 9.2 that allow you to learn and upgrade all Conduits*. Once one of these items is obtained, you can use it by going to the Forge of Bonds and opening the Soulbind UI, then using the item.
* For your Covenant ability Conduits, the items below will only teach/upgrade the Conduit related to the ability of the Covenant you're currently in, so to upgrade all four Covenant conduits, you will need to purchase and use the items a total of 4 times.
无穷熏香

.
Replacing Conduits
To replace a Conduit, all you'll need to do is head to the Forge of Bonds available at either your current Covenant Sanctum or Haven in Zereth Mortis, and interact with it to swap conduits.
Once you have collected a Conduit, it remains in your collection and is
not destroyed when replaced in your Soulbind
. You can select it again when you need it.

"Conduits can only be reset and reselected once a week." oh my... why

I am afraid the current rendition of conduits could be a major negative factor for shadowlands. Conduits being tied to ilvl is going to be an issue at launch and an even bigger issue at each patch. Most people say they get specific Conduits from specific dungeons. I cannot speak for everyone; however, I highly doubt people will want to refarm +15 conduits every single tier of this expansion. I think a better system would be making them somewhat more grindy but more consistent. An idea would be your weekly anima can be used to unlock or empower specific conduits so you can maintain "meta" for conduits by doing what Blizzard already wants you to do (weekly anima cap). It could work similar to how the Artifact weapon tree did in legion, where you can do it multiple ways (there will always be a best way) and respec the conduits to redistribute the anima if you change spec or one gets buffed/nerfed. Otherwise every patch will be a race to 15+ spams of X dungeon so I can get Y conduit at max ilvl so I can sim 5% higher than last tier. Another issue tied to conduit ilvl is the fact there are discrepancies in Max ilvl of M+/Raids/Arenas. Does this mean that a conduit from mythic Sire Denathrius will be X ilvl higher than a +15 conduit from Plaguefall? That could tilt the "meta" solely by the fact that a certain class has their 3 best potency conduits in the raid and another has 0 or 1. This reminds me of the Relics from Legion which were (in my opinion) an annoyance more than anything else. If blizzard is determined to fill this game full of systems I believe they should be slow burn grind (with catch up mechanics that keep people in a reasonable gap) rather than luck of the draw. Hopefully some changes are made within the month but it seems unlikely.

...you can use a Soulbind's left hand path for one spec and right hand path for another...
I'm in beta right now, on a druid. I set up my conduit path for tanking. Then I switched to resto, and I'm still locked into the same soulbind path and choice of conduits. I can't switch out anything that I've previously chosen.

If I get the same conduit (same ilvl) again, does it have any use?
EDIT: Meanwhile the anwser to that question became apparent. You cannot do anything with duplicate conduits (same ilvl). You either let them take space or delete them.
EDIT2: Due to the above reason, never open a calling cache when you have unused conduits in your bags! Because you may get the same conduit and waste your conduit roll when you could get a different conduit.

UPDATE:
So I figured it out. The guide is not wrong, its just worded in a confusing way.
The Active Soulbind you have for each spec changes automatically, not the selected conduits. So if you are Night Fae and use Niya for your Tank spec, then switch to your DPS spec and activate Dreamweaver (or whoever). When you switch back to Tank, Niya will be the active Soulbind again. Switch back to DPS spec and Dreamweaver is automatically activated.
Original Post:
Your Conduit choices are spec specific and will automatically change when you switch specs.
This does not seem to be the case in retail?
Set up Tank spec Conduits
Switched to DPS spec for the first time
Changed conduits to DPS-friendly sockets - Hit "Apply Conduits"
Switch back to Tank spec
Conduits are still the DPS ones I had just set
Am I missing something?

This is a lie.

Does anyone know how we upgrade PvP conduits without spending more conquest? I bought my PvP conduit when I was a challenger, now that I'm a duelist, my conduit is still 213, but the vendor is selling a 226. Should I just have waited before purchasing it?

The cost of
Unbound Reality Fragment
is actually 1900 Stygia.

Since most people buy now have the allotted number of conduits (not sure if they are the same for all. For BM Hunter, it is 21), the only real chance to upgrade them is the purchase of "Unbound Reality Fragment" from Ve'nari. The upgrade through raid or mythic seems to only max to level 7 (226). There are 15 levels (330). So I focus on collecting Stygia. Here are some numbers on what it takes to upgrade all conduits by one level:
To update conduits, buy “Unbound Reality Fragment”: 1900 Stygia
To update all conduits (21), you need 40,000 Stygia
Weekly quests: 1,520 Stygia
A week worth of daily quests: 2,940
All possible Stygia per week: 4,460
To get all possible Stygia to get all conduits to the next level: 9 weeks
One very helpful way to speed things up: go after Elites (skull on the map). Most get you an additional ~50 Stygia

I have been trying to change my socketed conduit for an upgraded one I earned while questing. I can not find info on how to do that. Like I've been pressing shift and ctrl shift and alt shift and just a whole mess of possible combos and can not get it changed.

You can unlock all conduits to lvl 226 by visiting
瓦伊罗
and buying
幻磷伟力之泉
for a few gold. Making the grind for conduits unthinkable.
