Necrolord Arms Warrior Covenant Abilities
Necrolord Warrior Class Ability:
征服者战旗
The Necrolord Class Ability for Warriors of all specializations is
征服者战旗
: an activated buff which increases the movement speed and mastery of the player and two allies, while also generating rage.
The banner provides a number of good effects and can actually become quite a powerful personal buff when combined with
老兵的声誉
and
身先士卒
, but it remains a controversial ability due to being only mediocre for the Warrior, while potentially very strong when buffing the right allies, making it more of a group buff than an individual one. Under optimal conditions, it can be very competitive, such as buffing a pair of strong Fire Mages, but there are a number of points both good and bad to consider.
The banner is no longer placed, so players do not need to remain in a specific area in order to benefit from the buff.
Buffing allies is generally balanced out by providing less of a buff for the player themselves, which is rarely a good feeling.
It buffs the two closest allies who do not need to remain nearby after activation.
The cooldown does not line up very well with Warrior cooldowns, resulting in providing a bigger DPS increase to allies than the user.
This makes it generally disliked, despite having a unique theme and offering a number of otherwise nice bonuses. It has a lot of theoretical potential both offensively and defensively, but also presents a drawback in every situation that would be desirable, placing performance reliance on three players instead of one, requiring more careful cooldown alignment, and positioning every 2 minutes. While it can be used to good effect with well-organized groups, the increased coordination and reliance on other players damage makes it a difficult choice over other Covenant abilities, which are largely fire and forget.
Necrolord Conduit for
征服者战旗
老兵的声誉
is the Necrolord specific conduit, adding an extra effect to the Banner which helps make into a stronger personal cooldown, although the primary stat increase does not extend to allies.
Arms Warrior Conduit Guide
Necrolord Warrior Signature Ability:
血肉铸造
Covenant signature abilities are defensive/utility in nature, and
血肉铸造
provides both a fairly powerful shield and a moderate damage reduction while channeling, both of which can be used multiple times during long encounters. As this can add up to a good amount of damage mitigation over the course of an encounter, it becomes an incredibly useful "mini cooldown" which can be stacked on top of innate defensives, although with the downside is the inability to move or deal damage while channeling. This tradeoff is almost always worthwhile though, especially before or during an expected period of high incoming damage.
Each soulbind can add an additional bonus to the ability, although that alone won't often be a compelling reason to choose that Soulbind.
Necrolord Exclusive Legendary for Arms Warriors
荣耀
: Conqueror's Banner affects 1 additional ally and every 10 (Prot), 20 (Fury/Arms) Rage you spend while it is active increases the duration of your banner by 0.5 sec.
Glory pushes Necrolord from decent to competitive, but only when considering the group damage increase rather than the Warrior's alone, which is a tradeoff many players do not enjoy making. Like the banner itself, the legendary is fairly minor for the Warrior, extending the duration of the banner out to around 30 seconds, but buffing an extra ally represents a much more powerful overall group gain. Keep in mind that the increased duration does not apply to allies.
Legendary Interactions for Necrolord Arms Warriors
No legendary modifies or affects either of these abilities in any meaningful way.

Best Arms Warrior Necrolord Soulbinds
Best Necrolord Arms Warrior Renown 80 Soulbind
All three soulbinds are very close to one another, however Bonesmith has the advantage of having very straightforward traits without gimmicks. On the other hand, Marileth has a few minor defensive bonuses, but
不稳定的溶液
requires taking time to re-channel Fleshcraft for damage, which you'd rather not bother interrupting your rotation for.
Like raid, any of the three can be used in Mythic+ without a lot of difference between them, though it's helpful to setup a dedicated soulbind so that conduits do not need to be changed regularly. For this reason, Emeni is a good choice since
身先士卒
also gives your party members a little bit of extra power, while
软骨脚趾
and
独心蜕皮
can be circumstantially useful.
Another competitive option is using Plague Deviser Marileth as the raiding setup and saving Bonesmith Heirmir for multitarget to take advantage of
切肉者之眼
, although the short duration can make it difficult to keep rolling in all but the lowest of keys.
Necrolord Arms Warrior Covenant Rotation Changes
There are no rotational considerations, aside from ensuring your
征服者战旗
is used with your allies cooldowns more so than own and that they are in prop position before activating it. Keep in mind that while the closest players are always buffed, they do not need to remain nearby after receiving it. Necrolord Arms Warrior Talent Builds
Necrolord Warriors have the option of using
撕裂
or
屠杀
depending on whether the focus is priority targets or occasional add cleave, but the difference between them isn't too great and most simply stick with Rend for boss damage.

There is no statistical impact on choosing Necrolord. As usual, we encourage you to sim yourself, and to also consider that, for general play, item level will be the most important factor to success.
Arms Warrior Necrolord Soulbinds Explained
All classes have access to the same three Necrolord soulbinds:
Plague Deviser Marileth
,
Emeni
and
Bonesmith Heirmir
. They are the NPCs with whom you complete the zone story, and they allow you to "attune" yourself to them to gain access to a tree of upgrades centered around your base toolkit (through Conduits) and Covenant abilities (through special game-wide traits).
These trees progressively unlock based on completion steps (such as finishing the campaign) and your Renown level with the Necrolord Covenant.
Each Soulbind has access to three Potency slots. This would seem to make them equivalent choices, although the primary bonuses vary greatly between them. Some Soulbinds have access to extra DPS bonuses, while others must give up a Potency slot to get to them, and others have none whatsoever, leading to some very obvious priorities when focusing on maximizing damage potential.
Plague Deviser Marileth is one of the weakest DPS Soulbinds with little access to damage dealing traits, although he does provide some fairly strong survivability buffs for players more interested in survivability or PvP than raw damage.
不稳定的溶液
grants one of four buffs: 120 Mastery for consuming humanoids, 2% primary stats for beasts, 5% stamina for demons, and a 5% heal for undead. Due to the disparity between the usefulness of these buffs, it's not particularly helpful when presented with the "wrong" type of enemy. Players in groups may find themselves fighting over usable corpses.
乌兹的和谐覆层
is a very nice defensive ability, which works automatically and has a fairly low cooldown. While the shield isn't large, it can help stave off death, particularly when facing recurring rot damage.
烦烦的先发制人
is the only offensive trait in the tree, and requires giving up a Potency slot for a weak buff.
终极形态
is also a great defensive trait more suited for PvP, but with some periodic PvE uses, particularly in Mythic+.
凯文的小软泥怪
the increased damage taken is the main perk, though the oozeling's weak attacks and low uptime make the trait underwhelming.
Due to the defensive nature of the soulbind, Plague Deviser Marileth isn't recommend for most PvE content.
Emeni is a curious soulbind which provides one of the strongest Mythic+ bonuses across all Covenants.
身先士卒
is a really good ability which combines with
老兵的声誉
to turn Conqueror's Banner into a respectable personal buff. Due to the banner's role as a group buff, you should always gain the maximum amount of Strength from the effect, or close to it.
艾米妮的优美之皮
isn't really as good as
艾米妮的可行动躯体
on the opposite side of the tree, but is required in order to take the important Potency Conduit
啮咬咀嚼者
is
extremely
strong in Mythic+, with one major downside in that it is behind an Endurance Conduit rather than a Potency one. In this case, the tradeoff makes up for it, but keep in mind that the bonus is not always going to be relevant outside of Mythic+ dungeons.
脓疮迸裂
splits damage, making it disappointing in the multitarget situations that are the Soulbind's main use.
If you're going Necrolord, this is a surprisingly strong Soulbind for Mythic+ due to the ability to chain and maintain the Haste buff continually, although whether that's worth taking Conqueror's Banner for is another matter.
Like the Plague Deviser, Bonesmith Heirmir provides nothing in the way of offensive potential, making it a poor choice for DPS oriented players. That said, he has some fun bonuses which at least add a little bit of utility when world questing and doing other low-end content.
炉脉幻想
is technically an offensive ability but it only works after you die, so it's not particularly useful outside of the most extreme edge cases.
锯齿护肩
is also technically offensive, but locked behind an Endurance conduit. It only triggers upon taking direct melee damage, rather than dealing it.
符文熔铸之刺
is great for world questing, which may give this soulbind some use just for the sake of speed.
海尔米尔的军械库:伤口践踏者
likewise increases speed, but the 1 minute cooldown makes it underwhelming, even for world questing.
记忆装备
represents a 3% increase to the Execute phase, but only during that phase rather than the entire fight, so the actual gain is significantly lower.
Outside of maybe switching just to get around slightly faster, there's very little reason to use this soulbind.
Double Legendaries for Necrolord Arms Warrior
Patch 9.2 adds the option of using two legendaries at the same time, with the restriction that one of them is your Covenant legendary. This change empowers Necrolord Arms Warrior even more. You can learn more about it in our Legendary Guide.
