This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the
Artificer Xy’mox
encounter on Mythic Difficulty in Castle Nathria. This guide assumes you’re familiar with the Heroic version of the encounter, and focuses mainly on Mythic changes in strategy.

Mythic Artificer Xy’mox Changes
On Mythic Difficulty, mechanics caused by Sire Denathrius’ Private Collection will persist throughout each phase.
This means the
Fleeting Spirits
from Phase 1 will persist throughout the entire encounter. By Phase 3, players will have to deal with

Fleeting Spirits
on Mythic difficulty will permanently possess players when they come in contact with their target.
Players targeted by
Fleeting Spirits
will need to utilize

to avoid being possessed. In Phase 1, simply run to either

. Phase 2, and Phase 3 will have very specific timings for dealing with
Fleeting Spirits
.
Mythic Artificer Xy’mox Phase 1
Phase 1 lasts until the boss reaches 80%, and is by far the easiest part of the encounter.

s should be placed on opposite sides of the room, as shown in the image below. This placement will persist through all the phases, as they allow for

to be carried and

s to be avoided.

positioning throughout the entire encounter.
Stasis Traps will always spawn in threes, and should be cleared by using magic immunities. We recommend alternating two Death Knights; however, other classes can be used as well.
Fleeting Spirits
become faster throughout their duration, but they will always travel about one full length of the encounter area. If you’re being fixated, take a

quickly, wait for the

to cross halfway through the room, then take the

back.
Taking the
空间撕裂
twice is not necessary in Phase 1, but it will get you used to the Phase 2 and 3 strategy.
Mythic Artificer Xy’mox Phase 2
In Phase 2, the whole raids positioning should shift towards the side of the room, as shown in the graphic.
Tank the boss towards the entrance when baiting
Fleeting Spirits
. and towards the portal when not.
Your raid should assign four players to carry

. We recommend using Mages, Warlocks, and Hunters for this job, as they are able to cover fairly large distances using their abilities.

that need to be carried can be seen in the diagram below.
Mythic Artificer Xy’mox Phase 3
Once
毁灭之锋
becomes part of the encounter, the number of possible deadly mechanics overlaps increases.
During the first
毁灭之锋
, players will get fixated by
Fleeting Spirits
toward the end of the channel, and during the second
毁灭之锋
there is a near-perfect overlap of
灭绝之种
and
Fleeting Spirits
.
The section below outlines how to deal with some of these overlaps.
After both of these sets are dealt with, the boss has very forgiving timings. Your raid will only have to deal with one or two mechanics at a time, making the tail end of the encounter significantly easier.
Mythic Artificer Xy’mox Tips and Tricks
This encounter's difficulty comes from having to deal with overlapping mechanic timings. Below are some tips for dealing with difficult overlaps.
The first
转瞬即逝的灵魂
in Phase 2 appear slightly before

explodes. It is important to bait these towards the center of the room. Take the

as fast as possible, then wait on the opposite side until

are about to explode before porting back. Make sure you stay close to the wall when porting back to the raid, because the

will still be chasing you.
A similar overlap will happen during the first
毁灭之锋
, where
Fleeting Spirits
will spawn as
毁灭之锋
ends and
灭绝之种
appear. Use the same strategy. Get to the far side of the room fast, wait until
灭绝之种
are about to explode, and port back.
The last difficult overlap is during
毁灭之锋
2, where
Fleeting Spirits
and
灭绝之种
happen as
毁灭之锋
starts. This is where players carrying
灭绝之种
should use immunities.
Use Wind Rush Totem and Stampeding Roar during the
毁灭之锋
duration to help players outrun the pull.
Your entire raid should start as close to the wall of the room as possible when
毁灭之锋
begins, as the strength of the pull increases with proximity to the center of the room.
DPS
There is a large amount of downtime after the first
毁灭之锋
, which is a great spot to use Bloodlust.
Be mindful of
Fleeting Spirits
and
毁灭之锋
timings, as using cooldowns during these can create a large DPS loss.
枯萎之触
is the most dangerous mechanic that doesn’t one-shot, so allocating defensive cooldowns when targeted will help out your healers. This is especially true if at any point you need to outrange your healers.
Healer
In Phase 1, there is not much raid damage, as only
毁灭符文
,
凌光火花
and
灵魂焚烧
will deal damage to the raid.
Phase 2 adds
枯萎之触
damage to the encounter, and players targeted by this dot will need spot healing to survive.
Starting in Phase 2, raid damage overlaps will need to be covered by healing cooldowns assisted by cooldowns such as Commanding Shout, and Anti-Magic Zone.
Phase 3 adds a large amount of raid damage through the
恐怖光环
ability.
Tank
Tank damage on this encounter is fairly light compared to some later encounters, so most of the difficulty comes from positioning the boss correctly for the raid to have an easier time with mechanics.
Tanks should simply swap after each
毁灭符文
is applied, and the targeted tank should try to get about 40 yards away from the raid if possible.
