In Season of Mastery, 黑莲花 also has a small chance to drop when gathering from other high-end herb nodes.

Season of Mastery
World of Warcraft Classic is getting its first "Season" with Season of Mastery. Seasons will have six content phases, lasting roughly 2 months for each phase, for a total of a 12 month cadence. When the Season ends, characters will have the option to transfer to permanent Classic Era realms before the Season servers are shut down. Season of Mastery will feature faster leveling, new raid mechanics, the removal of world buffs in raids, and many other changes.

The herbs gathered with the 草药学 skill are primarily used in the 炼金术 profession, although the herbs are also used in other professions such as 锻造, 烹饪, 工程学, 制皮, and 裁缝.

潜行者 players create 致盲粉 for 致盲 using 枯叶草. In addition, 菊花茶 is created using 雨燕草.

Herbalists can use the spell 寻找草药 to find nearby herbs (note this doesn't persist through death and must be enabled).

Herbs are required for a number of quests, outlined in the Herbalism Quests section.

Remember, if you see an herb node, go for it right away as they are not shared-tap in WoW Classic!

How to Gather Herbs

Orange - Always grants a skill point

菲罗迪恩·唤月 is located at near the Temple of the Moon in 达纳苏斯, at the Temple Gardens (48, 68).

雷纳·石枝 is located at the Great Forge in 铁炉堡, inside of the Ironforge Physician building (55.6, 58).

卡利 is located at Thelsamar in 洛克莫丹, outside of a building next to the inn (36.6, 48.4).For the section below, you can click on the herb's name to navigate to the object's page which will display a node map for each zone. Questing or aimlessly running around a zone will still net plenty of herbs if you know where the herbs will spawn (in open terrain, near trees, etc) and the skill requirements, although the specific suggestions below may still be helpful.

Leveling 1 - 75 Herbalism (Alliance)

From 1 to 50 skill, gather 宁神花 (found in open terrain) and 银叶草 (found near trees) from these zones:

丹莫罗: Run circuits from north/south of Kharanos to the western side of the zone near Brewnall Village.
艾尔文森林: Run complete circuits around the zone (excluding Northshire).
泰达希尔: Run circuits around Dolanaar and Lake Al'Ameth.

From 51 to 75 skill, gather 地根草 (found on hills and near cliffs) and 魔皇草 (found near trees) from:

丹莫罗: Run circuits around the eastern side of the zone, specifically the Gol'Bolar Quarry.
西部荒野: Run circuits starting from the northeast coast to the southwest coast, then to Sentinel Hill.
黑海岸: Run circuits up and down the zone.

Leveling 1 - 75 Herbalism (Horde)

From 1 to 50 skill, gather 宁神花 (found in open terrain) and 银叶草 (found near trees) from:

杜隆塔尔: Run circuits from Razor Hill to Sen'Jin Village.
提瑞斯法林地: Run circuits on the western side of the zone (from Coldheart Manor, to Agamand Mills, to Solliden Farmstead, to Nightmare Vale).
莫高雷: Run circuits around Bloodhoof Village and the base of Thunder Bluff.

From 51 to 75 skill, gather 地根草 (found on hills and near cliffs) and 魔皇草 (found near trees) from:

北贫瘠之地: Run circuits starting from the Crossroads, to Honor's Stand, to the Dry Hills, to Gold Road, then back to the Crossroads.

Leveling 75 - 160 Herbalism

From 75 to 100 skill, gather 石南草 (found near trees) from:

北贫瘠之地: Run circuits starting from the Crossroads, to Honor's Stand, to the Dry Hills, to the Sludge Fen, then back to the Crossroads. Alternatively, run a full circuit of the Barrens (excluding the Southern Barrens). The map for 石南草 in the Barrens is available in this link.
银松森林: Run circuits around the southern area of Silverpine Forest, from the entrance to Hillsbrad Foothills to Pyrewood Village.
黑海岸: Run circuits up and down the zone.
赤脊山: Run circuits around Lakeshire and/or the southern area of Redridge Mountains.

From 101 to 115 skill, gather 跌打草 (near buildings or hills) from:

北贫瘠之地: Run circuits around the southern Barrens, or between Razorfen Kraul and Razorfen Downs. The map for 跌打草 in the Barrens is available in this link.
赤脊山: Run circuits around Stonewatch Keep.
石爪山脉: Run circuits around either Windshear Crag, or the southern area in Stonetalon Mountains.
灰谷: Run circuits starting from the Ramparts entrance to Ashenvale, to Splintertree Post, to the Silverwing Outpost, and then back to the Ramparts entrance. Alternatively, run circuits around Mystral Lake or the area west of Astranaar.

From 116 to 125 skill, gather 野钢花 (found on hills and near cliffs) from:

湿地: Run circuits starting from the Black Channel Marsh, to the Angerfang Encampment, to Whelgar's Excavation Site.
北贫瘠之地: Run circuits around the southern Barrens, or between Razorfen Kraul and Razorfen Downs.

Notable Herbs for Endgame Recipes

Herbs are used in many consumables, but below we'll highlight the most important ones for flasks, powerful elixirs, and useful potions.

黑莲花 is an extremely important herb, used in all five Alchemy Flasks.
冰盖草 is needed for the and 精炼智慧合剂 flasks, as well as utility items such as 寒冰偏斜器 and 活力行动药水.
哀伤苔 is used for three powerful elixirs, as well as three powerful potions: 蛮力药剂, 猫鼬药剂, 先知药剂, 魔血药剂, 特效巨魔之血药剂, 净化药水
山鼠草 is used in three flasks (, 化石药水, 超级能量合剂), two DPS elixirs (猫鼬药剂, 强效奥法药剂). and the utility potions 活力行动药水 and 特效治疗药水
梦叶草 is used in two flasks (精炼智慧合剂, 超级能量合剂), a number of resistance potions like 强效暗影防护药水, and utility potions like
黄金参 is used in several potions to restore health and mana: 强效昏睡药水, 特效治疗药水, 特效活力药水
格罗姆之血 is used in two flasks (泰坦合剂, 强效怒气药水) and several elixirs such as 屠魔药剂.
阿尔萨斯之泪 and 盲目草 used for 阿尔萨斯的礼物, an item tanks may use to apply a debuff increasing the physical damage of the raid.
枯叶草 is needed to make 致盲粉, a reagent for the Rogue ability 致盲.

Either Ashenvale or Wetlands coastlines are good for farming 荆棘藻. The Ashenvale area is around Zoram Strand; just avoid the Horde settlement Zoram'gar Outpost.

You can also do 联盟需要轻皮！ and/or 联盟需要中皮！ in these areas if you're a skinner. The hydras in Zoram Strand and the crocolisks of the Wetlands can be skinned for both 轻皮 and 中皮.

紫莲花 is found near ruined buildings, but also has a high incidence of being near elite-packed areas. Tanaris has the advantage of being among the best zones for 联盟需要厚皮！ if you're a skinner, and the best fishing location to complete 联盟需要斑点黄尾鱼！. Feralas is also a good location for 联盟需要厚皮！.

宁神花 is best farmed in the 1-10 zones, where it is both abundant and compact, making for easy farming routes. It's also good for The Barrens, which makes for a good route for dual gatherers wanting to do that this zone will likely be crowded.

Those preferring to avoid Tanaris are encouraged to try out Azshara instead, which may be a quieter experience.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since December of 2004, with a majority of my time being from the Classic, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King expansions as an Orc Rogue on the US Gilneas realm.

To unlearn a profession, go to your Character Info sheet > Skills tab > click on the skill you want to unlearn and in the bottom pane, click on the red & gold icon next to the skill bar that says "unlearn this profession" when you hover over it.

Note that, in Classic, if you change your mind, you will need to relearn and re-skill up the profession from scratch.

One small note. You say that mining pairs well with herbalism if you just want gathering professions. I would disagree since in Classic you can only track one thing at a time so if you track mining nodes you can not track herbs, likely causing you to miss the one you are not tracking. If you want pure gathering then skinning usually is the go to skill combined with either mining or herbalism.

I might be blind but nowhere on this guide could I see what the levels are for levelling up in herbing or what trainers to go to for learning the next step. It is quite frustrating for a guide not to have this basic and important information.

This is the funniest guide ever, especially this part:

If another player is fighting near an herb node, generally this indicates that they want to gather it once they're out of combat. It is recommended to either assist them in combat, or wait until they're done to determine if they're planning to gather the herbalism node you're interested in. Similarly, if another player is moving towards a herbalism node, using an ability that increases your movement speed to beat them to it can be considered rude.

If they are alliance, I will do anything I can to gank their herb or mine even if I am not on a PvP server including fearing them in the middle of them plucking an herb out of the earth. Death Coil FTW!

Another argument in favor of taking herbalism on your druid is the aquatic form makes collecting stranglekelp *much* easier. Warlocks and shaman (with a reagent) have water breathing spells, but they need to be renewed, and they don't get the swim speed bonus that druids do. It's also rather fun to have water breathing potions ready for your aquatic form quest. :) Looking forward to TBC, druids have even more advantages with flight form. Oh, and stealth! Sneak in, kill maybe one or two mobs, get the herb you need, and sneak out. All of these things make druids the best for gathering, IMO.

If you're not herbing for mats but skill instead and there are other leveling herbers around as well, consider leaving the herb. Multiple people can skill off of one node if the node isn't gathered into your bags. If auto loot is enabled, just press shift while gathering and you will have the default option to leave the node while gaining a skill point (if applicable) so others can also skill off it as well. This works in dungeons also. The idea is that multiple gatherers can skill from every single node while still splitting the looted nodes down the middle or rolling for the results. If everyone can skill up and you don't need the mats, why not help others out?

I found Swamp of Sorrows to be severly lacking in Kingsblood contrary to what the guide said so this might need an update or, I was just super unlucky! Im finindg STV to be the stronger one for it but I'ma try out Wetlands as a back up because I just dislike STV utterly ha.
