Freehold is a max-level dungeon located in
提拉加德海峡
. It is available to Level 110 Alliance players on Normal difficulty and level 120 players on Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties.
This guide will outline strategies and important role-based responsibilities for each of the 4 bosses in Freehold, as well as some tips on particularly threatening trash mobs.
When running this dungeon in Mythic+, additional affixes will be present on the enemies in the dungeon, affecting the way they behave.

is a special mount drop from the final boss on Mythic difficulty or the Challenger's Bounty on Mythic+ difficulty.
Loot
Loot drops at ilvl 310 on Normal mode for level 120 players, ilvl 325 on Heroic and ilvl 340 on Mythic.
For Mythic+ Dungeons, loot does not drop per boss. At the end of the dungeon, a special chest will spawn that contains loot from the dungeon, for which the base ilvl increases based on the Mythic Keystone level. The loot is personal, so each player should loot it to see what their reward is. Two pieces of loot are guaranteed and the items will be appropriate to the player's class/spec.
In addition, all loot in Battle for Azeroth is on an ilvl spectrum. Most loot has a base ilvl and a progressively smaller chance to appear as a Warforged version, increasing in intervals of +5 ilvls. Learn more about loot in the

Dungeon loot can also be found at random on World Quests, including quests that send you into the dungeon, as well as quests to kill random elites.

For Mythic+ Dungeons, loot does not drop per boss. At the end of the dungeon, a special chest will spawn that contains epic items from the dungeon's loot table, for which the base ilvl increases based on the Mythic Keystone level. The loot is personal, so each player should loot it to see what their reward is. Two pieces of loot are guaranteed for the party, and the items will be appropriate to the player's class/spec.
In addition, if you successfully complete a Mythic+ dungeon within the time allotted, the Keystone that was used to start the attempt will become upgraded by at least 1 level. The faster you clear the content, the larger the upgrade, up to a maximum of 3 levels higher.
If the party upgrades the keystone by more than one level, they will also receive the corresponding number of loot chests.

Notable Trash Mobs
The cliff-side path leading towards the first boss is jam-packed with enemies, including several patrols. The group should exercise extreme caution when traversing south through this area, as it is very easy to pull additional packs.
Avoid standing in the parrot poop.
Whilst the group makes their way through this area,
天空上尉库拉格
and his mount
鲨鱼饵
will be raining down

patches.
Players caught within the patches will take a ticking damage and be slowed by 40%. So yeah don't stand in the parrot poop.
The group will find 6 uniquely named enemies in this first area, each arranged in multiple different pack configurations.

. After the 2.5 second cast, all players within a 10-yard cone in front of the enforcer will take physical damage and be knocked back a short distance.
All players should avoid standing within this frontal cone. Tanks can sidestep this ability, as the enforcer will continue to face his initial direction once the cast begins.

on the tank. This cast throws the tank far away from the group.
Move out of the

. This deals a moderate amount of physical damage and reduces the targets movement speed by 50%.
These doggies will also buff themselves with

, an enrage effect that increases their physical damage done by 50% for 1 minute.
Players who can "soothe" the enrage away from the Mastiffs should, as this will help keep incoming damage under control.

on the tank. This causes this mob to jump behind the tank, dealing damage to them and applying a 12-second poison dot that can stack.
This ability is cast more frequently than every 12 seconds, therefore this poison dot is likely to stack.
The debuff should be dispelled if possible, if not the tank may wish to stun the enemies just before the dot times out, as this will prevent another

cast from going through and stacking the dot.

s will remain stationary the majority of the time and shoot the target with the highest threat.
The tank should attempt to stack enemies on top of the Crackshots to ensure that the group can cleave everything down.
The Crackshots will mark the location of a random player and throw an

. This grenade will deal damage to all players within the 16-yard landing location.
Players should simply move out of the red targeting zone as soon as it appears to avoid the damage.
This last trash pack must be defeatedbefore

, a 12-second disease debuff which reduces incoming healing by 20%.
This should be dispelled if possible and the group should be careful when pulling a large number of

The Bonesaws have an interruptible 2.5-second cast:

. This will apply a magic buff to a wounded trash mob which heals them for 5% max hp every second.
Players should interrupt this cast as the highest priority. If the cast does go through, the trash mob who gained the

should be quickly dispelled.
Two

s can be found surrounded by a group of hostile trash. Although the mules themselves are neutral, chances are they will be pulled.
They have a low health pool and do not cast any abilities.
Upon reaching the arena where you fight

If you do not defeat this pack, the group will not be able to engage

Abilities & Strategy
Move out of the way of

is a two-phase encounter. The captain will engage the group mounted on his parrot mount

whilst he is above 75% health, at which point he will fight the group on foot, whilst

bombards the group from the sky!
Whilst

is mounted on

he will cast two abilities.
He will mark the location of a random group member as he casts

. He'll then charge to that location, dealing damage and knocking back all players within the 8-yard radius of the target location
Aside from
冲冲冲锋
, he will be dealing small bursts of damage to random group members via his

casts. These are unavoidable so the healer must simply heal these players up.
When

reaches 75% health, he will dismount

and engage players on foot.

will now take to the air and drop down

patches.
These work identically to the patches the group needed to avoid whilst defeating the trash on the way to this boss.
Attempt to remain spread from one another, so no more than one player is hit when the
污秽轰炸
lands. That player should then swiftly move out of the area to avoid the incoming ticking damage and movement speed slow.
污秽轰炸
will always prefer the closest target to
鲨鱼饵
, so ranged and healer players can bait it.
Avoid stacking up, as
艾泽里特填装弹
may cleave the entire group!

now loses access to the

abilities, whilst gaining access to two new abilities.
He'll face a random player and cast

. This unleashes a spray of azerite, dealing damage to all players within the 30-yard cone directed at the randomly selected player.
To minimize incoming damage, players should spread out around the boss. This will reduce the chance of multiple players being hit at once.
The captain will also channel
复苏之酒
over 5 seconds. This heals the captain for a portion of his maximum health every second whilst the channel goes uninterrupted.
The group should interrupt this cast as soon as possible. Doing so will cause the bottle of brew to land on the ground nearby. A player can interract with this object and channel
复苏之酒
themselves, providing a small amount of healing over 5 seconds.

, the group will need to move across a rope bridge to the south-west to enter

proper.

, dealing damage to all players within 5 yards of the brute and slowing those players by 40% for 8 seconds.
Players hit by this need to be aware of their impaired movement, as this may catch them off guard when trying to move from other trash abilities.
Move out of the

zones!

s will mark the location of a random player and begin to cast

. Upon completion, the Duelist will charge to that location dealing damage and stunning all players caught in the charge for 2 seconds.
Each member of the group should ensure that they are not between the

zone and the Duelist at all times.

will cause zones to appear underneath each player if their 2.5 seconds

cast goes uninterrupted.
These zones will detonate shortly after spawning, dealing damage and shooting players high into the air.
This cast should be interrupted where possible, and if the cast goes through players should quickly move out of the
海流喷射
zone that has spawned underneath them.

will cast shadow step to a player via

. This will deal damage and leave an 18-second disease that deals ticking damage every 3 seconds and decreases all healing taken by 25%.
Players should attempt to remain somewhat close to the pack of enemies to reduce the distance the
水鼠帮健步者
has to travel back to get into the cleave damage of the group.

will cast

, aimed at a random member of the group. This will deal a burst of damage to the player before bouncing to anyone else nearby.
Whilst engaging these Knife Jugglers, ranged players should spread apart from one another at least 8 yards to ensure that no excess damage goes through to the group.
Quickly move away from the

at the location of each player in the group. After 1 second the trap will become active, dealing ticking damage and rooting any player who triggers it for 5 seconds.
Players should move quickly away from their current location when

is cast to avoid its dangerous effects.

s are usually accompanied by several

s. The rats apply a stacking 10% healing received reduction debuff that lasts 8 seconds called

Due to the sheer quantity of rats, the group should quickly kill them to ensure that the

debuff does not stack too high on the tank.
The group will face

s have an interruptible 2.5 sec cast called

. This deals damage and interrupts all players within 30 yards.
The group should ensure that this spell is interrupted, especially as there are no other enemies that have interruptible casts in this area.

s will cast

on a random non-tank target. This will cause the Scrapper to fixate on this target for 8 seconds, whilst also increasing their physical damage done by 50%.
The
盲目怒火
can be soothed off the scrapper, as it is an enrage buff. Alternatively, the player fixated can kite the mob until the fixate ends.
Joining the Pirates
Council o' Captains consists of three bosses, one of which should be made friendly by joining their crew via an event during the previous trash that changes each week.
It is important that this is done, otherwise, the three bosses will gain the

buff, which increases each bosses damage and health pool by 100%.
Captain Jolly
In the Rum Quarter, players can find one of three events that will allow them to make the upcoming boss encounter substantially easier. This event changes after each weekly reset.
If players spot the cute pug

, they will need to chase him down to get the keys around his neck.
Murphy will go through several different spots, most of which reside in a clump of trash. Make sure to finish one trash pack before pulling the next.
Eventually Murphy will get tuckered out and fall asleep. At this point, somebody must right click him to take his keys.
You can then open the cage holding

. He will make you an honorary member of his crew, making

an ally to the party.
Captain Eudora
If players spot several Vulperas that are highlighted, the entire group must speak to one of them.
This will get players drunk for 1 minute through their

Once all players have had a drink they will become honorary members of that crew, making

an ally to the party.
Captain Raoul
If players spot two highlighted
黑齿拳手
s attacking a target dummy, they need to engage them in combat to begin a brawl!
At this point, four additional enemies will run towards the group. Once all 6 enemies have been defeated, the group will become honorary members of
拉乌尔船长
crew, making him an ally in the next encounter.
Chase Murphy around to snag his keys!
Have the entire group get drunk with the Vulpera!
Attacking these enemies will pull fouradditional mobs! Be prepared!
Council o' Captains Abilities & Strategy
Each boss has two abilities that they cast when fighting against the party and one passive they gain when fighting for the party.
Quickly destroy the
眩晕酒桶
!

will cast

on a random non-tank player. This player will be disoriented until the party destroys the barrel enemy that is attached to their head.
Players should focus this as soon as possible to allow their ally to rejoin the fight.
Players within melee range of
拉乌尔船长
will need to watch out for his

, which deals a burst of damage and knocks back players within 10 yards each time it is cast.
This ability is broadcast clearly to players via a brown swirly circle animation. Anyone who sees that should make sure they move away from this captain.
尤朵拉船长
will frequently cast

, dealing moderate damage to a randomly selected player.
As this is cast so frequently, this captain will often remain stationary, forcing melee players and the tank to move to her.
This is most prevalent when
尤朵拉船长
casts

. Eudora will jump far away from her current location and unleash a series of blasts that deal damage in a large cone across the encounter space.
This ability will always fire from Eudora's left to her right (Alternatively, from the player's right to left facing Eudora).
Players with exceptional movement speed should move behind Eudora by moving to the left side of Eudora.
Players with slower movement may just want step through one tick of the cone by stepping to the right, facing Eudora.
The worst thing you can do is try to move behind Eudora by moving left and instead eating every tick of the cone!

Upon cast completion, Jolly will charge towards the location and deal moderate damage to all players within 5 yards, whilst also applying a 12-second physical damage dot.

which deals heavy nature damage to anyone stood near the blade.
This blade will return to

. The tank should attempt to keep

is allied with the party, she will periodically cast

is allied with the players, he will buff nearby players with

Heroic difficulty
, the nearby bartender

will throw beverages to the location of a randomly selected boss. These beverages will apply a buff to any boss or player that stands within them.
The beverage that is being thrown can be seen by
checking Rummy Mancombs casts
as each time he throws a brew, his cast will represent the brew being tossed.
The bartender cannot be attacked by the group. Instead the group must move the bosses out of the beverages, whilst standing themselves within the beneficial ones.
Brews

increases critical strike chance by 50% for 8 seconds.
活力自由镇啤酒
increases haste by 30% for 8 seconds.

deals ticking damage over 8 seconds.
This is the only brew players should avoid, whilst attempting to keep the captains within these zones.
Ring of Booty
Notable Trash Mobs
As the party moves west towards the Ring of Booty, the group can take multiple different routes through the trash.
We recommend that the group takes the central path, as it allows for easier backtracking. However, they definitely may be better options that are found as more players go through the dungeon as expansion goes on.
Two new trash enemies can be encountered on the way to the Ring of Booty, as well as
黑齿拳手
s and
黑齿格斗家
s that can be found earlier in the dungeon if the
拉乌尔船长
event is active that week.
Run away from the

landing zone!

s will cast

at a random player, prioritizing ranged players, dealing damage and dragging the target to the location of the Harpooner.
Ranged players must be aware of what awaits them at their destination, such as dangerous area of effect abilities from the

. This marks an area underneath a random group member. After the 1.5 second cast, the crusher will throw a boulder at the location, dealing damage and stunning to anyone stood within for 2 seconds.
Players should quickly identify the area in which the boulder will land so that they can move out of it to avoid the damage and stun.
The crusher will also cast

. After a 2.5 sec cast, all players within 9 yards of the crusher will take a burst of damage and be slightly knocked back.
Players should ensure that they do not remain within the zone around the

when this is cast.
Players gripped in by the

cast should be especially careful, as the combined damage of the two abilities might one shot a player.
Ring of Booty Abilities & Strategy
The Ring of Booty encounter consists of three individual phases. Each phase is separated by lengthy "RP", giving players time to drop combat and prepare for the upcoming fight.
Phase One: Catch Lightning
A little pig called
闪电
will be thrown into the direct center of the arena. Collectively, the group needs to right click on Lightning a total of 5 times to pick him up.
Lightning will run around the arena at an impressive rate, which can make interacting with the pig pretty challenging. Once Lightning has been picked up, the phase will end.
Lightning will spawn at a random spot in the arena.
Phase Two: Ludwig
路德维希·冯·托尔托伦
will slowly enter the arena and become hostile. Players need to defeat him to progress to the final stage.
Aside from melee swinging the tank, Ludwig Von Tortollan only has one ability:

.
When cast, Ludwig will face a random direction and send out a shell. This shell will bounce endlessly around the encounter area, dealing damage and knocking back anyone who stands in its path.
Players simply need to avoid standing in the path of the shell, which does become more difficult as more and more shells are introduced into the arena.

Phase Three:

does heavy damageto anyone within melee range.

will slowly enter the arena and become hostile. This final Ring of Booty boss has far more abilities for the group to deal with.

will hit a random player in melee and apply a physical damage 12-second dot via his

ability.
This cannot be avoided, instead, the healer should ensure that players within melee range of
托萨克
are kept healthy at all times.
Players within melee range will need to move away when the boss channels
狂鲨飓风
which deals damage to all players within 9 yards of the boss every second over the 6 second channel.
This cannot be interrupted or avoided, instead players can chose to stay within the
狂鲨飓风
and take the damage, or stand away and wait for the spell to end.

's most unique mechanic is when he throws a shark at a randomly select ranged player via
鲨鱼投掷
. As the shark lands, it deals damage to anyone within 8 yards and then begins to chase the nearest player.
This

deals damage to all players within 5 yards each time it bounces towards the nearest player. They cannot be attacked or crowd controlled by players.
Ranged players should kite the shark around, making sure that they
do not kite it into melee range,
as melee players will struggle to kite the shark away whilst staying within range of the boss.
Kite the Flailing Shark into

The shark will remain active until

, at which point he will charge to the shark and pick it up, dealing damage to anyone in the path between him and the shark.
There can be up to two sharks active at any given time. This is a large source of incoming group damage, so players should prioritise safely kiting the sharks over their damage dealing duties.
On
Heroic difficulty
the

s are quicker than on normal mode. This forces the player kiting the shark to kite the majority of the time, significantly reducing output for most classes.
This can be counteracted by utilizing the

patches that are present on heroic difficulty.
These patches spawn randomly around the encounter space, and standing within them will slow player movement speed by 50%.
Players should kite the

into these patches, as the shark will consume the patch and be immobile for 3 seconds.

After conquering the Ring of Booty, the group should backtrack and travel north across another rope bridge.
This new area has many new trash mobs, as well as Irontide Oarsmen, Mastiffs and Enforcers that were found at earlier points in the instance..

s are on horseback and will cast

on the tank, dealing a large burst of magic damage and applying a 8 sec magic debuff which reduces all healing taken by 75%.
As this ability cannot be avoided, the healer should aim to quickly dispel this debuff, whilst the tank uses a damage reduction cooldown to survive during this time.

s have a 4 second interruptible cast called

. This cast will buff all enemies within 10 yards, increasing their damage dealt by 45%.
This effect also inflicts 3% maximum health damage to the trash mobs every second over its 10 second duration, equalling to an impressive 30% max health damage from the buff.
Confident groups may wish to leave the spell uninterrupted to allow the enemies to die slightly quicker, at the expense of more incoming damage.
Aside from spam casting

. This interruptible 12 second channel will deal substantial damage to all players within 10 yards every 2 seconds.
Players should aim to interrupt

as a high priority, as its high damage will force melee DPS to move away from the otherwise clumped trash mobs.

s have a channel which deals damage to all players within a 4 yard frontal cone -

The group should avoid this ability as much as possible, as the damage it deals over its 5 second duration is very dangerous.
The Buccaneer will maintain their position whilst channelling the ability, allowing the tank to also sidestep the ability.
Players should make sure that they clear all trash near

, to ensure they have adequate space to deal with his abilities.

Abilities & Strategy
哈兰·斯威提
is a single phase encounter which become progressively more dangerous as the boss reaches certain health percentages.
Players marked with

will spawn several exploding zones!
Harlan will cast
火炮弹幕
, marking and applying a debuff to a random non-tank player.
This player will now spawn zones every 0.8 seconds over the 3 duration of the debuff. These zones will explode after 1.5 seconds, dealing damage and applying a
燃烧弹片
dot to all players within the zone.
The zones will also leave
燃烧残片
zones, which last 5 minutes and deal ticking damage to anyone who stands within it.
Players marked by
火炮弹幕
should move to low traffic areas of the encounter space and place their zones close to one another, as this will maximise the space the group has to work with.
Harlan will also cast
疾风军刀
. This spawns 3 wind blades next to Harlan which subsequently travel out in straight lines, dealing damage and knocking back any player caught in their path.
The group needs to quickly identify which direction these blades are facing and attempt to side step out of their path.
As this can be difficult, players should ensure that they will not be knocked back into a
燃烧残片
zone in the event that they are hit by the
疾风军刀
blades.

These adds will fixate a random player and chase them down. Upon reaching them, they will detonate their

. This will kill the add whilst dealing substantial damage to all players within 5 yards.
The group should immediately switch to these adds and kill them. Grenadiers are susceptible to most crowd control effects, including displacements, slows and stuns.
Harlan will gain buffs at 60% and 30% remaining health.
At 60%, all non-tank players will be targeted by Cannon Barrage!
At 60% he gains

which causes his abilities to target additional players.

will now be applied to all non-tank players.
The group needs to ensure that they do not cut off one another. This is easily done by being spread before the ability is cast.

will now spawn 4 sets of 3 wind blades, each of which will be targeted in a different direction.
As each of these sets spawn within a short time of one another, dodging the ability can be incredibly difficult. The group should now expect to be hit by the blades, and therefor should be kept healthy before the ability is cast.
Multiple Irontide Grenadiers will spawn at once, rather than just a single add.
The strategy for dealing with these adds remains the same: make sure that the adds are crowd controlled and killed before they reach any player.
At 30% health, Harlan gains

which gives him a 100% attack speed increase, causes his abilities to trigger more frequently and causes Harlan to take 100% extra damage.
Due to the increased attack speed, the tank may wish to save large damage reduction cooldowns for this period. Harlan will die very quickly due to the damage taken increase, so most classes should be able to chain cooldowns to cover this incoming damage.
Likewise, healers may wish to save large cooldowns during this time as the incoming damage the group is taking is likely to go up due to the larger amount of incoming abilities.

Fantastic guide as always. Just the one small nitpick would be that the 'notable trash mob' links in the table of contents always takes you to the notable trash mobs section of the first boss, regardless of which one you click. So if you want to check out trash for later bosses you'll have to click on the Boss' name instead. As each boss' section begins with its respective trash anyway, you may as well link directly to the boss even when that boss' respective trash mobs header is clicked.

If you have a stealth member in your party (rogue druid) you can follow Murphy (the doggie) without pulling all the trash in the area. He responds to the stealth members presence. I assume he can smell you.

Timer to beat it for +1 is now at 33 minutes (from the
season 2 patch notes
). This probably means the timers for +2 and +3 need also be adjusted.

This sucks. He forgot loads of trash mob abilities which does a lot of dmg and have to be interrupted.
