is a primary profession that allows players to apply permanent (but replaceable) buffs to weapons and gear, as well as the ability to craft Wands, consumables, and reagents used by other professions. Enchanters also have access to the spell

, allowing you to destroy items for materials which are used to Enchant items, or sold on the Auction House. Enchanting can be profitable and very useful as it is used heavily for both PvE and PvP scenarios.
This guide will cover the aspects of Enchanting such as suggested second primary professions and classes, how to enchant and obtain recipes and items for enchants, how to use enchanting rods, trainer locations, and a suggested route to take to level up your Enchanting skill points to 300. You can also find a list of suggested endgame enchants.
Season of Mastery
World of Warcraft Classic is getting its first "Season" with Season of Mastery. Seasons will have six content phases, lasting roughly 2 months for each phase, for a total of a 12 month cadence. When the Season ends, characters will have the option to transfer to permanent Classic Era realms before the Season servers are shut down. Season of Mastery will feature faster leveling, new raid mechanics, the removal of world buffs in raids, and many other changes.

Best Professions to Pair with Enchanting
Enchanting is a primary profession, and you can only have two primary professions active at once in WoW Classic.
Enchanting pairs well with Tailoring, Leatherworking, or Blacksmithing, as those professions generate gear that can be disenchanted.
Tailoring is generally most commonly paired with Enchanting as you can loot cloth needed for Tailored items without having to learn a gathering profession (such as Skinning for Leatherworking). These Tailored items can then be Disenchanted into dust.
Best Classes to Learn Enchanting
For Druids interested in Tanking, Enchanting is essential to craft the

Cloth-wearers (Mage, Priest, Warlock) need wands while leveling from 1-60, and Enchanting is a source of two easy-to-get wands:

How to Enchant Items
You can enchant your own gear, as well as other players of your faction through the Trade Interface. Open a trade and have their player put their item in the "will not be traded" area at the bottom of the window. Choose the desired enchant in the Profession UI and then click on the item.
Enchanters can command tips for providing rare enchants for players, so you may want to advertise in Trade if you have a special recipe.
Enchanting Rods
You won't be able to enchant an item unless you have an

Leveling Classic Enchanting from 1-300
As with all professions in World of Warcraft, the player gains skill points when performing a specific task (crafting an item, harvesting a node, skinning a beast, etc). The frequency at which the player earns these skill points is relative to their current skill level. This is denoted by four-color codes:
Orange - Always grants a skill point
Yellow - Frequently grants a skill point
Green - Infrequently grants a skill point
Gray - Does not grant a skill point
You will mostly be crafting orange recipes as you level up, unless a yellow recipe is significantly cheaper to craft.
Reagent Quantities Needed for 1-300 Enchanting
This is an approximate list of the reagents you will need for leveling 1-300 Enchanting. They are approximate because sometimes you may not always get a skill point, so you will require additional reagents. These values mostly account for bad luck with yellow/green recipes.

How to Acquire Enchanting Materials
All Enchanting Reagents will come from the use of the

ability. The reagents that are extracted from destroyed items generally depends on the item's level. Below you will find all of the reagents that can be obtained, which can be used to craft items and apply item enchantments.
How to Disenchant Gear for Enchanting Reagents

will destroy an item permanently, turning it into enchanting materials--dusts, shards, essences, crystals. The level of your disenchanted gear directly correlates to how good the reagents will be. Disenchanting the top gear in WoW Classic will yield reagents needed for high-end Enchanting recipes, as covered in our Reagents section.
To disenchant an item, use the

skill found in your spellbook on any uncommon, rare, or epic gear. If you start disenchanting an item by accident, move or hit Escape to cancel the cast.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since December of 2004, with a majority of my time being from the Classic, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King expansions as an Orc Rogue on the US Gilneas realm.

Crafting enchants at the beginning is a waste of materials. Disenchanting provides skill points up to 50. Also, there's a legacy comment for the required skill level for disenchanting
here
. It would make a valuable contribution to your guide.
I mentioned in your Tailoring guide comments that it would be beneficial to have a list of tailored items appropriate for disenchanting to help level Enchanting.

I read on a different guide that weapons mostly give essences (roughly 75% of the time), whilst armor usually gives you dust (roughly 75% of the time). Is it possible to confirm if this is corrrect, and if so, would it be worth a mention in your guide?

Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm not a wet-blanket or so, but this guide says:
The Expert Enchanters are found in more obscure locations outside of major cities. You can train
Artisan Enchanting at level 20 with 125 Enchanting Skill.
Kitta Firewind (A) is located at The Tower of Azora in Elwynn Forest, at the top level of the tower.
Hgarth (H) is located at Sun Rock Retreat in Stonetalon Mountains, on the northeast side up a hidden path.
Artisan Enchanting Location - Uldaman Dungeon
Master Enchanter Annora is located in the Uldaman dungeon, between the Map Chamber and Temple Hall. She only spawns after you clear out the surrounding scorpion trash. Learn more in our Uldaman Dungeon Strategy Guide.
You can train Master Enchanting from her at level 35 with 200
Enchanting Skill.
Isn't Expert 125-225 and Artisan 225-300? I'm well aware that Annora teaches from 200, but isn't the rank Artisan, that she teaches? I believe Master profession was available since TBC.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I may have missed it in the guide, but there should be a note that Disenchanting items will also give skill ups, at least for Journeyman skill level.
I was actually checking to see where those "free" skill-ups stop, but so far I've hit 51 enchanting just by Disenchanting.
This may be a viable option for someone with the common Enchanting - Tailoring pairing, but otherwise you may not have such a ready supply of cheap uncommons to break down.

Up to 120 it is very easy to level up and gain a buck in the process, especially as a new main. You'll need about 25s to get started but you should have that by the time you decide to level up enchanting (15-20).
Buy low level green weapons under 5 silver from the AH,then disenchant them. Only weapons, nothing else.
First few skill ups will be given by disenchanting the items. Then up to 80 you will be able to craft Lesser Magic Wands, which only require a Lesser Essence and Simple Wood, but which sell at vendors with 5 silver. Once you reach 80, switch to Greater Wands which take a Large essence (3x lesser) but sell for 15.5 silver.
However, you will get plenty of disenchants which yield 2x Lesser Essence.
I did this at level 10 and made about 1 gold and 40 silver by the time I reached skill level 105.
Your mileage may vary, though, depending on the server economy. On Zandalar Tribe Alliance where I did this the AH was flooded with level 5-11 green weapons selling for 3-5 silver.

You can enchant the same item an unlimited amount of times, however the previous enchant will be removed from the item and replaced with the new one. (even if it's the same enchant)
Also, as a mage I just bought the cheapest (level 12 common) shield I could off the auction house, as I didn't own a shield to enchant and it worked.
I followed this guide from 1-225 enchanting and am going to list when the enchantments become yellow, (aka when they don't guarantee a level anymore) as you might need to buy a couple extra materials.

Just a couple of suggested updates:
Alliance enchanter trainer in Darnassus should be updated to: Name: Taladan, in the Craftsmen's Terrace, city of Darnassus, Coord .
It would also appear that the use of any rod, other than the runed copper rod is no longer needed. Source:

For Artisan Enchanting/Annora, all of these guides say something like "you
do
have to kill the scorpions though"; none of them say how many scorpions there are (it's a lot) or what level they are. Important if you want to know when you can solo your way to her.
I count 10, level 35-36.
Edit: I was able to solo as a level 50 Druid. Barkskin, Hurricane, Bear.

Are the tables for what level green/uncommon items disenchant into which dusts and essences meant to refer to item level? Not the character level required to equip the item? I'm having trouble getting things to match up to what I'm trying to get otherwise.

Save a lot of vision dust by continuing to use Enchant Bracer - Strength up until at least 220 - maybe 225 depending on your luck. As long as you get a skillup at least every 3 tries (on average), it's better than switching to 3x dust for the cloak enchant. From 205 to 220, I probably used about 1.25 dust per skill up, so it saved me a good amount.
That being said, Vision Dust is going for 3-5s each so it's not a big deal, but no need to waste!

For everyone else like me:
I just went to get my enchanting up to 300. I had collected the vision dust, dream dust and nether essences based upon the above guide.
I noticed some things that the guide doesnt inform you about. How much gold do I need to bring, what lvl is the highest recipe she has to teach?
Using the above guide to get from 225-265 you need:
10 lesser nether essences
70 vision dust
40 dream dust
20 greater nether essences
I have terrible luck with skill ups, so I made sure to bring extra. I went in with:
29 greater nether essences (can convert to lesser as needed)
120 vision dust
99 dream dust
Turns out you only need to get to 250 as this is the highest lvl recipe she has. So I ended with:
20 greater nether essences
49 vision dust
70 dream dust
It took just over 15g to get fully trained from her. I wanted to make sure I had everything I needed so I didnt have to go back again (as I HATE uldaman)
I hope this helps to get others prepped for that 225+ training.

I did not find this guide particularly helpful when leveling from 250 - 265. There are better orange recipes available that are more likely to result in a skill up then the yellow skill based ones listed. I wasted far too much gold buying vision dust and not getting the skill up, when I could have gotten more "bang for my buck", just using the recipes that take Greater Nether Essence and Dream Dust that were orange.
Enchant Boots - Stamina granted not one single skill up in 8 straight attempts at 253. Maybe it was just poor luck on my end.

If your server is like mine during these prepatch times DO NOT GET Formula: Enchant Bracer - Greater Stamina
Go and buy the Lesser Mana Oil in Silithus (infinite supply), skill up to 270 and with it (about 39 Dream Dust if lucky) then Formula: Enchant Bracer - Greater Intellect (trained now) to 275 and choose between Greater Intellect or Wizard Oil until 285.
Better than spending 100g on a @#$%ty enchant.

Lvl 225-300 #4, May as well change that for TBC. Good luck getting that recipe. Probably farm the mats faster for the other lvl 245 enchants faster than you can farm up that Enchant Bracer - Greater Stamina recipe. 3 mobs in Dustwallow, Fishing in Hinterlands. Impossibly low drop rates. Unless you're an extremely lucky person.

Select the enchant from Enchanting window
Hover your cursor over the item you are applying the enchant at
Press the keybind you put the macro on

I went from 195-235 (as blood elf +10 racial) using 10g of greater mystic essence. Doing +5 spirit to bracer and +50 mana to chest. skipped a lot of the vision dust earlier levels.
