Top Things You Shouldn't Miss While Leveling a Druid in Classic WoW
Here are just a few things to keep in mind while leveling your
德鲁伊
.
Complete your
德鲁伊
quests to get
熊形态
as soon as possible once you are level 10.
Not all forms are learned by Class Quests:
猎豹形态
is taught at level 20 and
旅行形态
, very important while you don't have a mount, is taught at level 30.
Save up gold so you can purchase your
mount
at level 40, and at 60, too.
When approaching
levels 50 and up
, begin checking out your Pre-Raid BiS gear and where it drops. You can begin farming certain dungeons early on, while still gaining XP, to obtain some of that Pre-Raid BiS gear before 60.

Classic WoW Druid Leveling Talents
Below we will outline some common builds for Druids leveling to 60 in Classic WoW, with links to separate guide pages describing them in greater detail.
Classic WoW Feral Druid Leveling Talents
Feral is the most-common leveling spec in Classic. The reason most players usually go Feral for leveling is that at level 20 you unlock both
猎豹形态
and your first point in
. In Classic World of Warcraft movement speed is going to be your best stat for any class for leveling so, being able to pick up 15% at 20, and 30% at 21 is an incredible advantage for the Druid. In addition to this, the talents we will be taking will be focused on increasing our damage in cat form.
Feral Druid Leveling Guide
Classic WoW Balance Druid Leveling Talents
Balance is a viable leveling spec while playing solo, but the road will be difficult. Leveling will be slow due to high mana costs, meaning you will need to drink constantly. Playing Balance will also be less damage than Feral in dungeons, as well as making tanking much more difficult due to stat differences if you choose to try it in dungeons. However, you can heal much more easily since your gear should be better suited for it, making finding groups generally easier.
Balance Druid Leveling Guide
Classic WoW Restoration Druid Leveling Talents
Restoration is very similar to Balance while leveling, but you are choosing to prioritize healing over damage. This will result in a much harder time while solo, but will make group play much easier. This is ideal if you want to heal dungeon groups, making it a viable choice for group leveling.

Spells to Buy while Leveling as a Druid in Classic WoW
This is a critical section to take the time to read because a common misconception is that you'll need to buy every single ability as you can train them when, in reality, you only need to purchase certain spells at certain levels. This path will save you a lot of travel time, as well as a lot of gold that can go toward buying your first mount at level 40.
Each Druid spec will prioritize slightly different abilities to buy, so we will direct you to our spec guides for exact details:
Feral Spells To Buy
Balance Spells To Buy
Restoration Spells To Buy
Classic WoW Druid Leveling DPS Rotation
All three Druid specs have somewhat different rotations, as your playstyle can change a lot based on what talent tree you're specializing on. Each specialized leveling guide has more information on the rotation for each talent tree.
The guide links below detail the rotation for each Druid leveling build in more detail:
Feral Leveling DPS Rotation

Druid Dungeon Leveling in Classic WoW
Druids can be very popular in Dungeons while leveling due to their ability to fulfill any role for a group, plus bring utility like
野性印记
,
纠缠根须
, and
复生
. The ability to fulfill any role also isn't limited to your talent tree, for instance, players pursuing the Feral tree can heal and players pursuing the Restoration tree can also tank, provided they are extra careful when executing this off-roles.
Each specialized leveling page has more information on how to perform both tanking and healing roles for each spec, please visit them to learn more:

Classic WoW Druid Dungeon Cleave Setup
A popular leveling strategy that has recently surfaced in WoW Classic is a dungeon cleave group. Let's quickly go over some strategies for a
德鲁伊
who may find themselves in a cleave group. This is a very fast-paced strategy, and oftentimes groups will spend hours at a time in one particular dungeon. In Dungeon Cleave groups, you will want to be talented towards a Bear Form spec.
Druids in dungeon cleave groups will mainly be in
熊形态
using
to deal damage. Keep your Swipe ranks up to date!
Although you will be in Bear Form, you will likely not be main tanking for the group - Make sure you aren't actively tanking mobs, so Warriors don't lose precious Rage.
After level 30 or so, you will shift into a supportive role - Keep your buffs and
up, use
often to increase your group's damage and use
月火术
to pull mobs from a distance.
Use
蛮力猛击
and
野性冲锋
to control dangerous enemies, keep all group members with
野性印记
and tanks with
荆棘术
at all times.
Although
猎豹形态
may seem attractive, the constant AoE makes Bear Form much better for cleave damage, offering similar utility to the group.
Classic WoW Druid Trainer Locations
You must train abilities, including their higher ranks, through Druid Trainers. The Druid Class Trainer guide details the locations of all Class Trainers as well as the costs of all abilities. You can also check out the "Spells to Buy while Leveling as a Druid" section of this guide for which are the very best abilities to train, and which you can skip to save gold.

Classic WoW Druid Weapon Skills
Druids can use
Staves, one-handed maces, two-handed maces, daggers, and fist weapons
in Classic World of Warcraft. Classic Druids have a rather unique relationship with weapons as you'll mainly be equipping them for the stats they bring and mostly ignoring the damage range and DPS portions on the weapons you equip.

Stat Weights while Leveling a Classic WoW Druid
Similar to gear and rotation, stat weights also change depending on the role you take and what talent tree you pursue. Check each individual spec leveling guide to learn more about their stat weight preference:

Best Classic WoW Druid Leveling Professions
Although there are many professions to choose from, some can give a
德鲁伊
a bit of an edge. Many choose to go
剥皮
&
制皮
. With
制皮
, a
德鲁伊
can craft many helpful pieces of gear to aid them in leveling, as well as help get them geared with the recommended
Pre-raid BiS
(Best in Slot) gear such as:
野性之皮
雷暴护甲
...both of which are crafted with
制皮
. Although you can pair your
制皮
with other professions,
剥皮
complements it nicely because
剥皮
provides much of the leather used for
制皮
recipes, although you may not have enough time to skin a whole lot of mobs in dungeons.
If you're looking to just make money, oftentimes players will choose a second gathering profession to pair with
剥皮
, such as
草药学
or
采矿
.
Classic WoW Druid Class Quests
In WoW Classic, all classes have special quests that are unique to them, providing unique experiences and, more importantly, rewards. For a
德鲁伊
, your quests will involve learning your most basic forms.
At level 10, your Druid trainer will teach you
传送:月光林地
, which will teleport you to Moonglade - A sacred Druid-centric zone where you will go through for Class Quests. You will also learn your first form,
熊形态
.
At level 14, you will go through a series of quests to learn your first dispell,
.
At level 16, you will go through a lengthy chain to learn a very useful form,
旅行形态
.
After this, you will go without Class Quests until all the way to level 50, where you will go through a lengthy quest leading you to the
沉没的神庙
, allowing you to select powerful rewards:
月影手杖
,
斑白毛皮
or
森林的拥抱
. For more information, check the Druid section on our Sunken Temple Class Quest Guide.

Changes to Questing in Classic WoW
If you're coming to Classic from BFA or any recent expansion for that matter, there are going to be some changes in your questing experience that you will want to be ready for:
Quests and Objectives are not displayed on the map.
To put it simply: you will have to do some exploring. You will get lost at some point during a quest, and you might have to read the actual quest or go to an external website to find out what you are supposed to be doing. While there may someday be a leveling addon for Classic, part of the game "experience" is feeling immersed in the world and creating an adventure of your very own.
You may struggle to kill enemies.
As a
德鲁伊
especially, you won't have a ton of downtime as a Druid since you use different resources in your animal forms and can easily shift out to heal yourself in between pulls. With that being said, the enemies in Classic are going to be more dangerous than BFA mobs, and you'll usually be killing enemies one on one.
Zones don't guarantee a certain amount of levels:
Once again, coming from BFA or one of the later expansions, you might be used to finishing a zone (Vol'Dun for instance) and expecting to be two levels higher. In Classic, the difficulty of zones vary, and especially as a
德鲁伊
, you will want to do a lower difficulty quest. You'll find yourself bouncing between a few zones at any given level range.
Best Druid Questing Zones in Classic WoW
While questing is all about opportunity, exploration, and competition, you should be familiar with some of the better zones for each faction:
黑海岸
(11-19): Once you complete the starting area for your particular race, you begin to have options of where to go, where to quest, and for Alliance, in particular, one of the best early game zones is Darkshore.
洛克莫丹
(10-18): Second to Darkshore would be the Gnome/Dwarf 10-18 zone of Loch Modan. The zone isn't as rich as Darkshore, but, it has some relatively easy quests. This is a good place to come back to and complete the quests once you out-level the content.
西部荒野
(9-18): While these initial questing zones come down to preference, I would not suggest Westfall as a zone in regards to difficulty. However, if you have a group of friends you are leveling with, and you want to go into Deadmines for a quest run and get some higher item level rewards, this zone is worth considering.
赤脊山
(15-25): This is the level range where you will have to bounce between zones of equal difficulty if you want to fill your quest bar from questing alone. Forming an efficient route of the next few zones will be important to increase your leveling speed.
暮色森林
(20-30): This is probably one of my favorite zones; it's full of quests, full of flavor, and has a lot of solid upgrades. Don't miss out on this zone if you play Alliance.
湿地
(20-30): This is probably the last "Alliance only" zone, from here on out you will enter into zones that are contested by both Horde and Alliance.
北贫瘠之地
(10-33): This is the big one, as it is the meeting point for three of the four races of the Horde, this zone has no shortage of quests and will easily propel you toward level 20. As great as this zone is, be ready to compete for mob tags, as there will be a lot of players funneled into this one zone.
银松森林
(10-20): This is the Undead version of The Barrens; it has some decent quests to complete, but, I usually don't end up coming here at all.
石爪山脉
(15-25): Although this zone offers Alliance quests, it is almost entirely a Horde zone. This zone is fantastic as it is right next to the Barrens, and the level range of the two zones overlap.
希尔斯布莱德丘陵
(20-31): Home to the infamous Southshore vs. Tarren Mill world PvP spot, this zone has a lot of good quests for both Alliance and Horde and is usually worked into most people's leveling routes.
灰谷
(19-30): Another flavorful zone as this is the home to what will become Warsong Gulch, plenty of quests for both Alliance and Horde.
千针石林
(24-35): Home to the infamous Shimmer Flats, this is a great zone for both factions to get almost an entire level. It also has a questing hub for Horde.
北荆棘谷
(30-50): probably one of the most infamous zones in the whole of World of Warcraft, you will be coming to this zone off and on from level 30 and up towards level 50.
凄凉之地
(30-39): Home of the dungeon Maraudon, this is one of my favorite zones in the game, and I spend many levels here. There are both Horde and Alliance quest hubs here.
阿拉希高地
(30-40): This zone is home to the 2nd battleground Arathi Basin, there are two hubs here (one for each faction), and there are plenty of good kill quests here.
荒芜之地
(36-45): This is a quick and dirty zone, while it only has a hub for Horde; it is a quick level, and if you have enough players around your level you can do an Uldaman quest run.
塔纳利斯
(40-50): Home to the dungeon Zul'Farrak, I recommend questing here as well as doing a full quest run of ZF.
菲拉斯
(41-60): This is one of the less popular zones for people to quest at, it's worth coming here in your early 40s as there are plenty of quests for both factions.
灼热峡谷
(43-56): This zone is particularly exciting because you get your first taste of the end-game, On one side of Blackrock Mountain is a lower level zone with various quests coming from the Thorium Brotherhood.
燃烧平原
(50-59): The other side of Blackrock Mountain, this is a higher level zone and has hubs for both Horde and Alliance, you will probably come to this zone a couple of times as the level range is quite large. Some dungeon quests come from this zone.
费伍德森林
(47-54): This zone is a must-complete for me as the quests are quite good and you will need to come here to get your
塞纳里奥信标
, which is needed to farm various consumables like
鞭根块茎
.
安戈洛环形山
(48-55): This is another hot zone as it has a plethora of quests and will get you nearly two levels from completing the crater.
西瘟疫之地
(46-57): This zone is excellent for quick leveling, as you can complete the "cauldron" questline for massive amounts of experience. It's worth noting that you need a breadcrumb quest from your faction's major city.
东瘟疫之地
(54-59): Home to the legendary Naxxramas, this zone gives you another taste of the end-game immediately upon questing. You will spend a lot of time here even at max level.
冬泉谷
(55-60): This is an amazing zone, it has a ton of quests that give a ton of experience, and you can get
玛艾里的容器
, allowing you to farm Jujus, a very good consumable for raids.

Bag Space in Season of Mastery
One aspect of Classic leveling that many players, especially retail players, often forget is bag space. Unlike when you start a new expansion, starting in Classic means you only have your default backpack available, with meager 14 items lots.
To ease that off, there are some bags that you can easily obtain at the start of the game:
亚麻包
- Created by Tailors. Requires
裁缝
skill level 45 and takes 6x
亚麻布
, obtained from Humanoid enemies, and 3x
粗线
, purchasable at
Tailoring supplies vendors
.
If you have the necessary materials, try asking in General Chat or Trade Chat if any Tailor could help you making that bag. If you find someone, make sure to tip them for their help!
棕色小袋
- Dropped by many different humanoid mobs and sold by
select vendors in early game
for around .
科多兽皮包
- Created by Leatherworkers. Requires
制皮
skill level 40 and is learned from
图样:科多兽皮包
, which is only sold by a Horde vendor. Alliance players may get this pattern by using the Neutral AH in Gadgetzan. Requires 3x
薄科多兽皮
, 4x
轻皮
, and 1x
粗线
.

Closing Thoughts on Leveling a Druid in Classic WoW
Quality of Life changes have been implemented over the years:
If you are coming from
Battle for Azeroth
, there are going to be a lot of not-so-friendly changes that make questing harder, or at least take more time. Quests and objectives won't be marked on your map, so you will have to do a lot more exploring. There won't be a steady stream of quests from 1-60, so you will have to combine questing and grinding enemies for the experience to level. There's no AoE looting, and quest items take space in your bags. Cooldown abilities are available much less frequently, and there's significantly less personal healing, which adds much more downtime in between pulls as you sit and eat or use First Aid/Alchemy to heal. Playing efficiently is the best thing you can do to speed up your leveling.
Play Feral for Leveling:
By far the best leveling spec for a Druid, you gain access to several damage increases as well as movement speed increases to increase your leveling efficiency.
Grouping is Optional for Druids:
Although I didn't cover this explicitly in this guide, Druids can handle themselves just fine on their own. However, if you have a group of friends who you want to level with or a group of gamers who can be with you consistently throughout the leveling process, then a Druid will be a fine addition to any leveling group.
Buy abilities only when needed:
A lot of people don't think it is possible to afford a mount by level 40, in reality, it's much easier as long as you only buy the necessary spell upgrades to save money. It's also worth noting that following this guide for buying spells will save you a lot of travel time as flights back to major cities or your questing hub can take a lot of time away from leveling.
Weapon upgrades are significant for Druids:
Unlike other melee classes Druids don't benefit from a weapon's DPS, but rather the stats on a weapon. If you come across a weapon that has high strength and agility, odds are that this weapon will be something you will keep for a long time while leveling.

A nice little bonus for druids is being able to train in moonglade. Set your hearth to your current quest hub, turn in, and then tp to moonglade for training and hearth back to your questing zone. Helps to shave off a little bit of that travel time in a way no other class can early on.

While stacking Strength at first glance might seem better than Agility, at low levels the AP gained from stats doesn’t translate very well into faster kill speed. The AP power curve is linear requiring substantial amounts of AP to go from let’s say: 12 hits to kill a mob to 11 hits. At least by stacking crit you can sometimes get lucky and get occasional high tempo burst damage. Crit also becomes significantly more valuable once Blood Frenzy talents comes online. - Shedo

Minor typo in the changes to levelling section, struggle to kill:

Guessing you mean shift ;)

Also of note, especially for Feral
Combo Points
Combo points are stacked on your target and are lost if you switch/kill your target.
Not sure if Feral has something like Savage Road in Classic, a buff finisher to use if your target is on low hp and you have 3-5 CP's to use, use that not FB to finish and help on the next mob

Some thoughts on the talent choices:
Its more efficient to fill out Improved Nature's Grasp and 5/5 Natural Weapons for the extra damage in 1-20, then when you hit 20 you can respec to feral - this avoids completely wasting points for 1-20. Then Feral Aggression is really not that great if you plan on doing any dungeon tanking or world pvp at all while leveling, I would recommend any combination of the feral Tier 2 talents over that - especially Brutal Impact since it's very good for any world pvp and Feral Instinct for tanking. Thick Hide makes a very minor difference to damage taken which may be worth it to reduce the amount you have to heal between pulls at higher levels (once you have more armor).
I also like to go into the Balance tree and pick up Omen of Clarity immediately after Feral Faerie Fire or maybe Savage Fury, since it's useful to get the damage boost from OOC and Natural Weapons as soon as possible. Otherwise very good talent choices.
There are also a couple of very nice gear pieces that are worth picking up:
Totem of Infliction - offhand that gives you 50 armor and a chance when hit to do shadow damage - comes from a Duskwood quest
Smott's Compass - a 1% dodge trinket from a quest in STV
Band of the Great Tortoise - 120 armor ring from an escort quest in Tanaris - amazing for tanking

Just a note on weapon skills for anyone looking at this guide and doesn't already know; as a druid your weapon skill with your equipped weapon does not affect your attacks while in forms such as cat and bear. That means that in general it isn't a priority to level unless you plan to be smacking stuff directly with your weapons in caster form for some reason. The same thing applies to weapon damage, as mentioned in guide, and chance on hit effects on weapons whether they be innately built into the weapon or added via an enchant like crusader; they have no effect while attacking in form. Meant to post this a while ago and kept forgetting to do so.

Don't remember druids using polearms in vanilla? Wasn't that added in wrath?

I'm annoyed that this guide assumes you're going feral. I'm not even bothering to train feral skills, balance all the way. I was balance in vanilla, I'm playing balance in classic. I don't care if it's not as efficient.
I recommend adding a tab for balance minded druids.

I still not got cat form and i have found myself that leveling as a caster is much easier at very low levels at least. Being a bear means you cant heal yourself in a fight (since shifting cost 55% of mana). Also low level bears struggle to get rage while fighting toe to toe, having only one damager, that deals not enough damage to one shot a mob. I'd like to suggest playing caster until you get cat and more damaging abilities. Considering leveling in classic is pretty tough - you won't get levels fast. And when i finished reading this guide i felt myself like "You start, get bear, than cat, choose talents and you are done" That is not going that fast sadly...

At it's best this is a feral leveling guide with notes for tanking. this not a Druid leveling guide at all. My opinion if you're going to make a class guide on how to level up it should cover all specs.

I really do not understand why Duskwood is mentioned in this guide as a preferred zone between levels 10-30. Not only for druids, but for nearly all classes. I used to love Duskwood when I played Vanilla; nice storylines, decent gear upgrades and the area sort of felt like home at a certain point. So when my druid hit level 13 in WoW Classic, I thought I'd revisit the place.
Bad plan! I crossed the river between Elwyn Forest and Duskwood and (regretfully) ended up somewhere around Raven's Hill Cemetary. From there, trying to get back to Darkshire, took me countless numbers of deaths, being attacked by mobs with an incredible aggro range that, even when just following the road between Raven Hill and Darkshire, took me out in 2 or 3 attacks. Gear: utterly broken (100% repair bill). Me: utterly gutted when I finally made it alive to Darkshire, only to find out that there are no quests available there at level 13.
Whilst appreciating the dedication, effort and time that have gone into making these guides, I think the level range for Duskwood really needs an update to prevent other players from having the same frustrating experience.

There's another trainer for alliance at the Felwood flight point, next to the house.
