Best Azerite Traits for Destruction Warlock
Based on simulations, logs, and analysis we have selected the best Destruction Warlock Azerite Traits, which should generally be prioritized. Keep in mind that the strength of Azerite Traits is based on the source item's item level, which can weight their value. This scaling will typically make a higher item level piece of gear better, even if it has less ideal traits.
Destruction Warlock Azerite Traits
There are several useful traits you can choose between when playing a Destruction Warlock. Some of them are situational and can be handy in various scenarios, but when it comes to raiding we mostly use the same traits, depending on the situation of course.
混沌碎片
- Incinerate damage is increased and when you fill up a Soul Shard, you have a 5% chance to generate an additional full Soul Shard over 2 sec.
This is overall a pretty good trait, it doesn't increase the change you get to generate a full soul shard if you stack multiple of these traits, only increase the damage of
烧尽
.
爆发耀斑
Casting Conflagrate on a target affected by your Immolate increases your Mastery for 20 sec, stacking up to 5 times.
When playing this trait you will want to make sure you don't drop this buff as it will lose value if you do. This is overall not a very great trait for Destruction, there are pretty much better options in all scenarios. I would only really use this for very heavy AoE where you will only really be casting

Chaos Bolt deals additional damage and has a 25% chance to make your next Incinerate instant.
You do not increase the chance to gain this buff if you stack multiple of these traits. It does, however, increase the damage your

does. This is not a very good trait for raiding, but it's very nice for doing open world content, island expeditions and even dungeons.

When your Immolate deals periodic damage to a target above 80% health, gain Haste for 10 sec.
One of the strongest traits for Destruction. Even though this doesn't sim very high, it's very strong! You can get very high uptime on this trait by applying

to adds and high health mobs while raiding or doing dungeons.
翻滚浩劫
Each time your spells duplicate to a Havoc target, gain Intellect for 15 sec. This effect stacks.
One of the strongest traits when cleaving or AoE'ing as Destruction. The intellect bonus you gain is refreshed whenever you duplicate a spell which means you only really have 5 second downtime on this if you can always apply
浩劫
to something. Very good for both raiding, doing dungeons and open world content.
粉碎混沌
Your Summon Infernal's Cooldown is reduced by 15 seconds and summoning your Infernal increases the damage of your next 8 Chaos Bolts
This used to be our "go-to" trait but has since been changed. This is very strong for raiding and offers a lot of extra burst during your cooldowns.
Conclusion:
Single Target:
On full single target
闪点
isn't very good, but if you introduce an add once in a while giving you higher uptime on this buff it gains a lot of power.
Having 1x
混乱狱火
is very strong. Having multiple of these traits isn't terrible, but not optimal.
Having atleast 1x
粉碎混沌
to reduce the cooldown of your
召唤地狱火
is very strong.
Having 1x
混沌碎片
is decent, there are stronger traits on single target though. You never want multiple of these.
爆发耀斑
is also a decent trait.
Multiple Targets:
The absolute strongest trait on multiple targets is
翻滚浩劫
if you're able to reliably cast
浩劫
more or less on cooldown this trait is insanely strong.
闪点
is decently strong on two targets, but if you introduce an add once in a while giving you higher uptime on this buff it gains a lot of power.
Having atleast 1x
粉碎混沌
to reduce the cooldown of your
召唤地狱火
is very strong.
Having 1x
混乱狱火
is very strong feels really good to play with, the
烧尽
case you gain from this proc does not consume
爆燃
allowing you to spend the stack on a
混乱之箭
instead.
The mastery bonus gained from
爆发耀斑
can also be very strong on multiple targets.

Azerite Armor for Destruction Warlock
Here is a list of a few Battle for Azeroth pieces with Destruction traits to look for. Note that you can have the same traits in multiple pieces and their effects will stack up to three times. The power listing here is based on all items having an equal item level. Remember that item level can often be a larger increase than a better set of traits.
In many cases, it will be important for you to have a wide variety of pieces with those traits, as they can have different values depending on what content you are doing, like Raids, Mythic+ or PvP.

Purchasing Azerite Armor for Titan Residuum
Deciding how to spend your
泰坦残血精华
allows more flexibility in gearing, giving you the decision between buying random Azerite tokens or saving for specific pieces with strong trait combinations. In general, it's best to buy the random tokens if you do not already have 475 in each slot, while saving for specific pieces once you are comfortably geared. Because Destruction has a number of single point Azerite Traits, so deciding on which piece of gear to buy is not always as simple as prioritizing one trait above others.
Helm
深渊攫取王冠
- This is the #1 piece you'll want in this tier. So many bosses in the Ny'alotha allow you to benefit massively from
翻滚浩劫
, and on top of that none of the helmets inside the raid has this trait.
灵魂供能头饰
- Very good option,
枯败灌注
is a very strong trait as we scale well with crit.

- Many bosses in the Ny'alotha allow you to benefit massively from

gives a nice boost to our mastery. This is also a strong option.

Shoulders

- Can, depending on your current azerite, be a good option. There is a better option that drops from the Ny'alotha raid, but it's from one of the later bosses so it might be hard to obtain.

- Another strong option, we benefit massively from

- Extremely strong option. For bosses where you benefit from

this is the strongest chest we can get.

. Depending on your current setup this can end up being a very good option.
Conclusion -
As mentioned at the beginning of this segment, before spending your Titan Residuum you should take all your available azerite pieces into consideration. If you're going for 3x
翻滚浩劫
which is an insanely strong setup in the Ny'alotha raid, you should try purchase a helm. If you're saving up your residuum to purchase a specific piece you should get
深渊攫取王冠
. If one of your azerite slots (head/chest/shoulders) are significantly lower ilvl than the other ones then you should consider purchasing an item for one of those slots.

Right at the start of your journey to level 120, you will be summoned by

The necklace allows you to empower your helm, shoulders and chest pieces, called Azerite Armor, unlocking new exciting powers hidden within those items. Collecting

Unlocking Destruction Warlock Azerite Powers
Each Azerite Armor piece has different rings of power, and each ring unlocks at a certain level of power from your

. Each of those rings has various options of Azerite Powers to select, and you can pick one power per ring unlocked.
Depending on the source of your Azerite Armor piece, each ring will have a different
艾泽拉斯之心

Finding Azerite Armor
Unlike other sources of gear, Azerite Armor isn't fully available in every game activity. While you can obtain it normally on non-keystone Dungeons and World Quests, there are only a handful of sources after that point for higher item level Azerite gear:
Periodic Emissary Caches, scaling with player item level up to 445.
Personal Loot Drops from The Eternal Palace, up to 445 on Mythic difficulty.
Personal Loot Drops from Ny'alotha, the Waking City, up to 485 on Mythic difficulty.
Weekly PvP Ranking Rewards, up to 475 at 2100+ (Duelist or higher rank)
Random or specific Azerite pieces from

, at the expense of
泰坦残血精华
.
None of these sources are really farmable and Azerite Armor cannot Titanforge, so it's difficult to target specific bonuses; generally higher item level is Azerite pieces are better. The best way to guarantee desired traits is to complete the highest Mythic+ Keystone possible to receive as much
泰坦残血精华
from your weekly chest in order to buy specific Azerite Armor pieces from

May i ask where you got your ratings from? The lists here differ from those on Lock One Stop Shop (my go to guide for all things lock based). They have simmed the traits to get their ranking and some of their traits conflict with yours.
