Notable Trash Mobs
Siege BombThe trash leading to Operator Thogar consists of the same adds that players will encounter during the Operator Thogar fight, so players can use the trash as a learning opportunity.

Operator Thogar Tips & Strategy
Track numbersThe Operator Thogar encounter is a single-phase fight with a heavy emphasis on adds management, target prioritization, and raid awareness. Players fight Thogar on the tracks of the Foundry Terminus, and must dodge the deadly trains that hurtle across the tracks throughout the encounter.
The most important mechanic of the encounter is avoiding the
疾驰列车
s. Any player struck by a
疾驰列车
will die unless they have a powerful survivability cooldown or immunity effect active.
There are four train tracks that cross the encounter area, and in this guide they will be referred to by numbers as illustrated in the diagram, right.
Moving TrainsOccasionally, some trains will stop on the tracks and provide reinforcements - adds - that players must also defeat. The adds in this fight are identical to the trash in the zone leading up to Operator Thogar:

The trains that drop off the Crack-Shot/Raider group, or the trains that bear Gunnery Sergeants,
do not move out of the encounter area until players have defeated the entire group of adds
. This can cause problems if players do not kill the adds quickly enough, since players could be trapped with no way to escape the next
疾驰列车
.
This is especially important approximately 2 minutes into the encounter, when two trains will simultaneously arrive on Tracks 2 and 3. Each train will unload a group of 4 Iron Crack-Shots and 12 Iron Raiders.
The raid must split into two groups, which will be isolated from one another until both sets of adds have been defeated.
One group must go to Track 1 to fight the adds that emerge from the train on Track 2.
The other group must go to Track 4 to fight the adds that emerge from the train on Track 3.
Before beginning the encounter, the raid leader should be sure every player knows which group they are in for this phase.
If the raid has an uneven number of healers, send the extra healer with whichever tank will have Thogar for this time period
40 seconds after the trains arrive on Tracks 2 and 3, a new set of trains will arrive on Tracks 1 and 4.
Players must defeat all of the adds within this 40 second window
, or else players will be unable to avoid the
疾驰列车
s on Tracks 1 and 4, causing a raid wipe.
This will occur again at approximately 6:20 into the fight; trains will come simultaneously on Tracks 2 and 3. This time, however, the train on Track 3 will have a Man-at-Arms and Flamemenders, while the train on Track 2 has only the Crack Shot/Raiders group. Thogar should be tanked by the tank going to Track 1 in this phase, so that the tank going to Track 4 does not have to deal with both Thogar and the Man-at-Arms (and the Man-at-Arms doesn't get buffed by Thogar's
Berated
.)
Prototype Pulse GrenadeIn addition to trains and the adds that come off them, players must also deal with Thogar's abilities:

affects the current tank with a DoT effect; each application increases

damage by 35%. Tanks should swap on 2 stacks.

Players near the Grenade will be pulled in toward the Grenade and will take Nature damage while in the area of effect

Thogar will buff his allies with

every 10 seconds while adds are active
Players should focus on killing adds quickly to avoid high stacks of
Berated
The basic strategy for this fight is to tank Thogar and the adds in the center of whichever train track is safe at the time, with ranged and healers spread out on either side. Players focused by

should drop their bombs outside of melee range, and all players should move away from

s and any nearby Siege Bombs.

to help kill the adds from the simultaneous Track 2 & 3 trains quickly. However, most raids that are capable of defeating Beastlord Darmac should be capable of killing these adds in the 40-second window provided, so this is an unideal strategy.
Looking For Raid Difficulty
In Looking For Raid difficulty, being struck by a
疾驰列车
is not fatal, though it will deal heavy damage and knock the player back. Players should still attempt to avoid it, as healers may have trouble keeping up with the heavy damage.
Additionally, the trains that deliver the large packs of adds - 4 Iron Crack-Shots and 12 Iron Raiders - will move away on their own after 25 seconds, whether or not players have defeated all the adds. This will ensure that players do not wipe if they do not kill the adds from simultaneous Tracks 2 and 3 in the 40 seconds before simultaneous Tracks 1 and 4 become active.

Mythic Difficulty
The Mythic version of Operator Thogar introduces a new spell for the Grom'kar Firemenders and two new weapon types, and also changes the train track rhythm a bit.
Grom'kar Firemenders gain

, a spell with a quick cast time, that will damage and interrupt their target. This spell is cast at a random ranged target and will produce a 5-second spell school lockout if the target was casting a spell at the time the

struck them.

can be interrupted, or it can be redirected by effects like

DeforesterThe first new train type that players will encounter is the

train.
A Deforester will appear approximately 25 seconds into the fight, on Track 1
This train slowly moves across the platform, shooting a massive column of flames

will reach all the way across the encounter area, so there are no safe spots

Players should group together and use speed boosts, immunities, and damage-reduction cooldowns to run through the flames

Twenty seconds later, when trains arrive on Tracks 1 and 4 simultaneously, players will encounter the second new type of weapon, the

The Obliterator Cannon accompanies an Iron Gunnery Sergeant on Track 4
Every five seconds, the Obliterator Cannon will fire

at a predetermined location, starting with Tracks 2 and 3
The projectiles will deal damage to players standing at the point of impact

also leaves patches of fire on the ground, which persist for 20 seconds and afflict any players who pass through with

OBLITERATION fire patchesWhile the Obliterator Cannon is active, the raid's movement will be heavily constrained. Shortly after

begins, a train will travel down Track 2, and players must carefully dodge the train while being careful not to gain any stacks of

Following the Obliterator Cannon, the fight continues as normal, with the simultaneous Track 2 and Track 3 trains appearing, requiring the raid to split up, about two minutes into the fight.
Deforester and Obliterator Cannon may appear again later in the Mythic encounter, but can be handled in the same way.

At the 4:20 mark, will raids have to split again, or can the raid simply stand on track 3?

Is it possible to take advantage of the 20% damage that the firemenders deal with their cauterizing bolt by immediately casting mass dispel? Interrupt all casts while Mass Dispel is on CD, and all casts by the 2nd firemender (since all the waves with them, they come in pairs). Would this even be worth the trouble?

I tried to make a good priority macro to target Firemender > Man-at-Arms, but it will only target the Firemender, even after death.
Here's what I've tested:
/target Grom'kar Man-at-Arms

In place of and still no luck.
Any help appreciated, but I am still going to try to figure it out.

One important thing to remember is that Reckless Slash strikes around the target, not in a cone, so standing behind the Man at Arms can still cause you to get hit

I think there are several mistakes in this guide (or it was written based on beta/PTR):
1. Firemenders don't come in pairs. There is only 1 Firemender and 1 Men-at-arms from one train.
2. During split but not only then, you don't have to kill all the adds to make train leave. It leaves anyway, whether you kill all the adds or not. If you kill them however, it leaves early. This means there is no chance that you wipe because of train that passes on your track because you killed adds to slowly.
Another thing to notice - you can ignore cannons and DPS boss instead if you like, but you have to take care of bombs properly.
