A fun little pet. You have no control over it. You don't even get a pet bar. It acts just like a pet set to agressive.
It usually does 1 damage per attack. Every once in a while, it gets a berserk buff, increasing its attack speed and attack damage. It does about 80 damage per attack while berserked. It also rarely gives a 5-minute buff Battle Cluck to the party. I'm not sure, but I think it slightly increases melee hit chance.

It hits for 1 damage every 2 seconds.
If it enrages (does so often) it deals 40-70 damage (against a lvl70 target) every 1 second, lasts 10 seconds per enrage.
Occassionally it Battle Squawks, the entire group has +5% attackspeed for 5 minutes.

I like this more than the dragon ones since this is every half hour and lasts 1.5 minutes.
This gives me more use out of it.

you have to be a gnomish engineer to use it... oglethorpe in booty bay teaches it.

Is the chicken destroyed when it's used or can you use it several times?
评论来自

Hits for 15-23 pretty fast.
has a chance to gain "Chicken Fury" wich gives it 150% incrased damage and 100% incrased attack speed, when it gains that its pretty decent.

Engineer skill / 5
E.g. For 260 Engineering skill
you will have 260/5 => Lv 52 Chicken
My engineer skill is 290 and I can call a Lv 58 Chicken and dragon

I found out something really important tonight about the Gnomish battle chicken. It is Bind On Pickup. Yep, that means when you make it it can't be given to other players. I tried to create 2 of these tonight for someone, they paid me and for the supplies. I cannot believe I did this and I will always read the item before making it. The guy was very cool about the whole thing and when I tried to give him everything I had, he refused. Just said enjoy the skill ups. So yes, I learned to read..and never will make that mistake again.

That makes sense.
Just made my first dragonling.
So my engineering = 200 a 205.
My lvl = 36.
Dragon lvl = 40.
Usefull little thing, I just expected it to be bigger :)
I'll take a look if it levels once my engineering is a bit higher.

1. Level of chicken depends on your engineering skill level at time of use. It levels up with you.
2. If it dies in combat, which isn't often for me, it is still available for use again in 30 minute.
Personally I love the Battle Chicken, although it is annoying when its hitting for 1's.. still havent figured out what makes it really start dealing damage... but it does it often enough to make me happy.
Something I havent seen mentioned.. my chicken is a level 58 (engineering 290) and I'm a level 44. In BG my chicken and dragons see rogues in stealth. The other day my mithril dragonling and battle chicken took off and flushed out two rogues coming up a hill. The rogues fled and I got my best laugh of the day :)

Just to clarify - I assume the chicken and dragons see rogues in stealth because of level differential. I'm not saying they will see all rogues in stealth all the time.

The facts as i know em:
1)gnomish BOP
2)can be used w/ another pet, including another engineering trinket pet (i have chicken and dragonling). Unleash the chicken first though, there is a 30 sec cooldown to unleash the dragonling, since the chicken lasts 1.5 min, and the dragonling only 1min. Well you get it.
3)the chicken will level w/ you, incentive to use it often. My chicken is now lv. 63.
4)yes the chicken starts out w/ very tiny 1-3 dmg. hits, but if it stays alive long enough you'll see it become enraged at which time it begins to repetitively crit for 60-80 dmg. (this is my lv. 63 chicken, so yours might be less).
5) this one's no longer a fact, and i'm quite disapointed, was one of the chickens coolest traits, and it was nerfed at some point, i'm not sure when. The chicken used to in the heat of melee, after it became enraged, cast "Battle Squawk", giving the entire party a pretty nice, short term attack power buff. Not sure when this skill on the chicken disapeared, i didn't notice for a while that it wasnt happening, but i wish they'd bring it back.

If you're level 35 - 49, then I recommend getting your chicken to level 60 by grinding engineering all the way to 300. Afterwards, head to the battlegrounds... then this chicken is unfreaking stoppable..
My chickens best record so far is 4 kills in the 1.5 minutes that he's out. He hits pretty darn fast, so use him caster if at all possible.
Only one wierd thing I've noticed, he only hits for 1 damage until he gets mad. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe he gets mad and turns a red color whenever an enemy hits him. Afterwards, againist level 49ish, he starts hitting for around 80 - 160 a pop.
Probably my second favorite engineer item after the mind control cap.

Would it be possible for an gnomish engineer to make it, then unlearn engineering(starting another profession), then relearn engineering and grind all the way up to goblin and STILL be able to use the chicken?
I'm assuming it would be possible(for those die hard engineers) since the chicken does not require gnomish engineering to use. excellent ><

Not sure if anyone else posted about this (long threads), but the Battle Chicken/Mechanical Dragonlings can detect stealth very easily if you take the time to level up your engineering early.
I'm currently playing a 30-39 Mage BG twink, and my level 60 pets detect stealth from about 20-30 yards away (!). It's quite satisfying to see my chicken go flying across the map, then peck at a stealthed rogue/druid for 1 damage :D

The recipe for the Gnomish Battle Chicken can be learned from the Master Gnomish Engineering trainer in Tinkertown inside of Ironforge. You have to have 230 skill to learn make and use this item. It binds on pickup which means you cannot trade it to other engineers, gnomish or goblin alike. Therefore only gnomish engineers who can craft this can use this. The level of the chicken is determined by the level of your engineering skill divided by 5. So a 300 engineer will have a level 60 chicken while a 230 engineer will have a level 46 chicken.

This is probably one of my most used trinkets in the game.
My chicken is lvl 53 and hits at 78-79 normally but often crits at 158.
I just set him on a croc in STV to count how much damage he does in ONE fight and...
11x79 hits = 869
4x158 hit = 632
(and a bunch of 1-hits).
Total approx: 1,500
And this does not include the 5% attack speed increase I often get from the battle squak.
I often use the chicken in two scenarios:
1) When fighting something where the approx 1,500 'free' damage points is valuable (boss, etc)
2) When trying to get away..as the chicken is good at holding aggro as you run for your life
Really a great trinket for me at least.

Nice, the lvl 70 battlechicken did 3125 dammage total before died of time.
Thats with 350 skill. A gnome like me could get to 390 skill and get the chicken to 76 with all other summonables :D

THIS chicken is sooo damn funny, i just cant stop laughing when he gets enraged or sounds his 'Battle Squawk'! (oooh watch out XD)
Since i made it, its always in my bag just when i need some extra dps or something to chear me up, it also rocks agains casters. when u pop one out, casting time gets doubled and dont think they will spot the little chicken within 30 secs! :D
btw, also goblin engineers can have em when they first had gnomish and then specced to goblin. (via the soothsaying book)

With the last patch, you can now get this as Goblin Engineer. Go Gnomish, get it made, along with the Death ray, drop Engineering, and then retrain and go Goblin. This didn't use to be possible but was made so 1.10

Everything IronFalcon says, I have to say 'Dito' to.
Except that 'Since it has a quicker cooldown, it can be used for normal combat situations'. I have to disagree with that. Half an hour? Yeah, quicker and quick are two different things. (Although, I maybe misinterpreting what you mean 'normal combat situations, which may be boss battles to you).
This thing is very useful for boss battles. It gets all the aggro one could want, and as a rogue (Like IronFalcon), I usualy have aggro issues with 'summons', but not with this guy.
One of the best in my books.

Got my chicken a couple of weeks ago, and having loads of fun with it. Here are some things I have found out about it so far.
Chicken facts:
*
Gnome engineers only.
*
Schematic is learned from Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay. Skill req 230.
*
Trinket is bind on pickup
*
The chicken's level is based on your engineering skill divided by 5 (starts as lv 46 at 230, scaling up to lv 60 at 300 engineering).
*
Does not share a cooldown with the other combat pets (mechanical dragonlings). You can even have both summoned at the same time
*
Chicken cannot be buffed or healed (Mechanical Repair kits work though)
*
Chicken cannot be controlled - it will follow you around and attack anything within its agro range
Chicken buffs:*
-Battle Squawk-
Adds 5% attack speed to party members in 100 yrds
Duration 4 min
-Chicken Fury-
Adds 100% to the chicken's damage
Adds 100% to the chicken's attack speed
Duration 10 sec
(also turns the chicken red, like the hunter Bestial Wrath talent)
* Seems to cast these at random. Squawks maybe 1 in 2 summons, procs Fury maybe 1-2 times per summon.
Observations:
Now I've found the chicken's damage output to be very variable. It attacks very fast, but most often seems to hit for 1 damage. When it casts the Chicken Fury buff though, which it does fairly often, its damage seems to jump drastically and it starts hitting consistently for 50-90 or whatever its max hit is against the opponent's level and armor. Basically the fight will look something like this:
1, 1, 1, 1, 1, (Chicken Fury) 79, 79, 80, 79, 80, etc.
I've seen it pecking consistently for 91's against a cloth wearer in a 30-39 battleground, and the highest crit I've seen so far is 151 (against Mograine in Scarlet Monastery). It doesn't have a great deal of hitpoints (less than 1500 at lv 60 - I used a repair kit when it was around 50% and it healed it to full) but can still be handy to take a bit off heat off you in a PvE situation.
All in all, I'm very happy with my chicken. As a priest, it's nice to have an extra source of damage for a boss fight or just in an emergency. It's pretty effective in battlegrounds too. Well worth powerlevelling my engineering so I could have him at a low level (maxed 300 skill at lv 36 hehe).

How do you control the chicken? I created one last night, summoned it, and it was standing there next to me. Should it get a pet bar? I do have a UI installed, so it's possible that it hid it, but, how do others control it?

This chicken is good. Here's a warning though: at first it seems weak! Once you use it 3 to 5 times you will begin to see a little more how it works and be impressed like I now am.
This battle chicken is level 46 and can take a lot of damage! It's attack hits for 15 to 75 dmg every 1 to 1.5 seconds or so. (The chicken hits for more damage the higher level the mob it is attacking. Example level 30 mobs it hits for 15dmg a lot more than 75dmg, but on level 37 mobs it hits for 40dmg a lot more than any other dmg).
It has at least 2 special features:
1) It has Chicken Furry, an attack speed increase that makes it hit every .75 seconds with more damage or so it seems.
2) It taunts mobs off of you. This is very handy for me a rogue so that I can put massive damage on a mob from behind while soloing and the mob never turns around if the chicken has taken agro for a while.
This chicken fights for 1 min 30 seconds and has a cool down of 30 minutes. I have found that because of this shorter cool down time, it can be used in normal combat situations regularly unlike the mechanical dragonling. Here's a suggestion: when the chicken is cooling down, switch the mechanical dragonling into its trinket slot so you have a pet there for emergency purposes.
One last thing to note is that the Mechanical Dragon seems to do more damage, but the Battle Chicken can take 3 times as much damage if not more.
I'm a level 34 Gnome Rogue doing Gnomish Engineering, skill at 240.

There's a lot of confusion about this currently. There are basically four types of items that can be made by engineers:
BoE items that can be used by any engineer and traded.
BoP items that can be crafted by a specific specialization, but used by any engineer

Casts
作战鸣叫
which increases the attack speed of the party by 5% for 5 minutes. In raids, it's best use is to cast it about a minute before a boss encounter and cross your fingers that Battle Squawk is cast. There is no control over it's cast, it seems pretty random.
Also, when you use this trinket, it puts a 1 minute cooldown on other minion spawning items like
上古角石魔典
.

Level of the chicken seems to not scale with your engi on actual classic as was mentioned in various comments. I used it on level 44 with 300 skill and it was just level 44 as me.
Edit: Now I am at level 52 and chicken is level 60, can someone explain?
