New Site Feature: Blue Tweet Tracker
The
World of Warcraft
team has really embraced Twitter this past expansion--it's led to a lot of great interactions between the players and those working on the game.
However, it's easy to lose track of conversations quickly or sort out the important tweets from the conversational ones, so we've built a
Blue Tweet Tracker
to make things easier!
By default, you'll see tweets from developers and community members
designated by Blizzard as official accounts
. Using the menu at the right, you can customize it further:
You can choose to only see significant tweets, which are marked as important by Wowhead staff. Important announcements from
@Warcraft
or WoD information like the new racials would be considered significant.
To avoid clutter, we've hidden conversations that are one-on-one replies since they may be more personal or incidental. If you want to see all of a user's tweets though, there's an option to do so. Sometimes Blizzard devs include useful information in conversations, so it's good to enable both "Show @ replies" and "Show significant tweets."[/l

Item Finder
We have a lot of advanced filters and data on Wowhead, but want to make the database accessible to new players as well! Our new
Item Finder
tool breaks down some of the most popular filters for Gear, Consumables, Professions, and Mounts with a user-friendly interface.
For Gear, just choose your level, item slot, class or specialization, then hit Find Equipment.
For Consumables, Glyphs, and other character enhancements, selecting your level and class or specialization will return appropriate results as well.
For Professions, choose a Profession and then select what type of item you

Site Improvements: Zones, Image Sorting, Item Enhancements, Page Browsing
2014 has just started and we've already got some site improvements in place we want to share! We've been tweaking some of our current tools these past few weeks to give you a more user-friendly experience here at Wowhead, ranging from image filters to a new way to browse search results.

Image Sorting
Our popular image galleries for transmog sets, battle pets, and Hearthhead cards can now be sorted! Click on the sort options at the top left of the gallery to check it out.
You can also always view these pages in their traditional layout by clicking on the "Text" tab above the Image Gallery. Items with 3D models also have a special image view--click on the "Gallery" tab to see this alternate view.
Improved Page Browsing
We've added an alternate way to browse search results on Wowhead. If you get a list of results back and don't want to keep returning to that page, you can simply click on an item and then move back and forth between results using the red arrow buttons at the top right. The Up button will take you

New Site Feature: Tablet-Friendly Wowhead and Hearthhead
We're always striving to improve the Wowhead browsing experience and today we have a big feature to share with you--
Wowhead

are now optimized for tablet devices!
Our tablet version has all the same content as regular
Wowhead
and
Hearthhead
, just much more touchscreen-friendly. We've made improvements like redesigned page layouts and a new menu and tab system for easier navigation.
Whether you're looking forward to playing Hearthstone on your tablet or are farming in WoW and don't want to alt-tab to look something up, our optimized sites will make finding what you need even faster when you're on a tablet.
We also wanted to mention that we know a lot of users have also been asking for a smartphone version of our websites--and we haven't forgotten about that. Hearthstone is very tablet-orientated though and we wanted to test out responsiveness on
Hearthhead
at first--smartphones could always be down the line.

Wowhead and WoW Insider BlizzCon Party, Thursday 11/7
BlizzCon 2013 is soon. Really soon, in fact. And we're not sure if you guys know this or not, but we're having a party.
A huge party.
From 5pm to 11pm on Thursday, Nov 7th we're hosting a party with
WoW Insider
at the Anabella Hotel's
Tangerine Grill & Patio
that anyone in the area can attend. It's super close-by to BlizzCon--about a block away and easy to get to by foot. Admission is free and you don't need to be attending the con to come to our party!
There will be awesome sponsors, tons of prizes, and tons of well-known World of Warcraft faces including some Blizzard staff, popular streamers, and podcasters--and of course, staff from Wowhead and WoW Insider.
We've even got GUNNAR hosting a photobooth where you'll be able to take your photo with some Azeroth-inspired weapons, and bars with special Horde and Alliance mixed drinks. Plan to get there early, because we'll have some extra giveaways and maybe even swag for earlybirds.

New Site Features: Spell Changelog, Hearthhead Front Page and Streams
BlizzCon is very soon and we've got some great coverage planned, but we've been also spending a lot of time on new site features that we're very excited to share with you!

got upgraded from Basic to Golden with a new layout this weekend. All of our tools are now easily accessible from the front page, as well as a list of recent forum topics and Hearthstone blue posts. We've even added a new feature--

Site Updates: Image Search Results, Loot Specialization Filters, and More
With all the recent 5.4 PTR coverage, it's a good time to step back and highlight some of the cool projects and database improvements our dev team has been working on. We've added image galleries to our search results, some new loot specialization tools, and more!
Image Gallery: Search Results and "Same Model As" Tab
We've added image search results, generated by our 3D Modelviewer, for all armor and weapons! To view the image results, simply click on the
Gallery
tab next to the default
Name
option. Clicking on an image will open up our 3D modelviewer, and clicking on the name will take you to the item's page.
We've also turned the
Same Model As
tab on all armor and weapon pages into an image gallery as well. With images for all items, players can easily spot what armor not only has a matching style, but also identical colors--a popular site request among our transmog users.

Wowhead Server Migration Complete
We had some site downtime today and we wanted to share with everyone why that was--and don't worry, it's good news!
In short, we have just completed migrating servers and getting Wowhead stabilized on its new home. This change will allow us to have better uptime, faster load times, and allow us to create more awesome features in the future.
It will also fix a couple of notorious issues people have been having with our site. Many of you probably remember an issue where pages were not loading correctly. While we fixed it for many people, it was a reoccurring problem for a few regions despite our best efforts. You'll be relieved to hear that this should be fixed by our server migration.
The next few hours are crucial for us so be sure to report any issues you find in the comments here so we can investigate them thoroughly. Moving a site as huge as Wowhead is not without its difficulties, but this will alleviate the server issues we've been having over the past month and bring greater stability to our users in the future. Thanks for your patience, you guys!
