Wowhead: PTR 3.2 Site Up!

is up!
Sorry for the slow update rate on this one—it's been a busy week. :) The
talent calculator
is already prepared, and we'll be updating with item data as we collect it.
Make sure that those of you who are have characters on the PTR are running the
Wowhead Client

Wowhead: About Us Page Update
So those of you who have been paying attention to detail will notice—our team is expanding, and we've finally made all of the appropriate updates to the
About Us
page.
We've added some new full-time programmers to the team:
PoeticDragon
has actually been working with us on the site for a good long time—she's responsible for most of the cool goodies you've seen come out on the site for the last few months, including the
item comparison
, the
hunter pet calculator
, the
weight scale
system, as well as the upcoming
Wowhead Profiler
. It's been a huge oversight on our part that she hasn't been featured on the About Us page long before now.
We've also very recently added
TheOnyx
to our development team—a long-time Wowhead user, and in fact the winner of Wowhead's
very first contest
all the way back in 2006. You can read about him on the About Us page as well, not to mention

Keep the comic scripts coming guys! I'm still sifting through the emails but the ones I've received so far are pretty promising and I'll try to draw up those that really jump out at me with awesomeness.

Wowhead: Glyphs and Spells, Together at Last!
If you've ever wondered if there was a glyph that affected your
火球术
spell and what it did, you've probably been scouring
a filtered list of mage glyphs
in an effort to answer that question. We here at Wowhead were not satisfied with that as a solution, so we've made the task easier!
Pages for spells that can be modified by glyphs (such as
) will now have a tab called "Modified By" which lists all of the glyphs that can alter the spell. Conversely, glyph items (such as
体型缩小雕文
and
被烧毁的雕文
) will now have a tab called "Modifies" which lists all ranks of the spell that it alters, allowing you to quickly review the spell and its normal effects.
Now, get out there and start inscribing!

Wowhead: Talent Calculator Updates!
That'll teach us for thinking no one used this. The minute we changed the "Summary" link on the
talent calculator
to display only the talent titles, I was deluged in email asking us to change it back. Well, we hear you. The full-text printable Summary is back, and it missed you!
We've also made a few tweaks and updates to the talent calculator as well, so for those of you who have been using it regularly will notice a few tweaks—most notably, the links on the right side (Reset, Lock/Unlock, Import, Summary, and Restore) now all work for Glyphs as well as for talents.
Poke around, give it a try, and don't say we never gave you anything. :)

Wowhead: A Few Little Updates
We continue to tinker away in the background, and we've made a few small updates today that we wanted to make sure you knew about!
We've added the

) to the list of items on the "Purchaseable With" filter! Try it out here:

We've also added an

Ulduar
with fresh new data!

Wowhead: More Static to You
The development team here at Wowhead has made some changes to the way we serve up static content on our servers. We have been moving files that do not change often (such as images) to a new server to help improve the performance of the site. Today, we completed that move.
For those of you who are using the
Powered by Wowhead
tooltips or the
Spread Wowhead
logos or search boxes, you should update your pages to take advantage of this performance gain.

A little while ago we gave you a blog about the new

. Now we feel ready to give you something more - the actual

As we feed on dataz, you will be fed on information. Here is what we know about the Hammer of the Ancient Kings:
Val'anyr is only usable by healing classes - druid, paladin, priest, shaman. No hunter loot!
You need 30

to start its short quest chain.
Fragments of Val'anyr have a chance to drop off all the bosses in
Ulduar
, on
Heroic difficulty only
. This means you can only obtain the Hammer from Ulduar-25.
In
瓦兰奈尔，远古王者之锤
, the final quest, you will be given an item called Shattered Pieces of Val'anyr. You will need to
throw
those in
Yogg-Saron
's mouth while he is casting
震耳咆哮
. You also need to fight and defeat Yogg-Saron with 3 or fewer Watchers assisting you.

for gosh knows how long, (so have I /sadface) and is frustrated how quickly it is snapped up by other people in the hunt for it.
So, good luck to her, and I hope she bags herself this prize mount soon. <3 (and me too)
Note: Please, for the sake of her sanity and mine, pretty please don't reply to this blog post saying, OH I HAVE ONE, I FOUND IT SO-SO EASILY, etc etc. Or blood vessels will burst. And she might stab me in the head with a pen. And, uh, ignore the fact she can't actually use a crossbow ingame, for comic purposes it's nifty and cute.

Wowhead: Talent and Pet Calculators Upgraded!
So in the process of building the code to support the upcoming profiling tool, we discovered that a few upgrades needed to be made to our trusty old
talent calculator
. In honor of the release of
Patch 3.1
, we've decided to release a few of our upgrades a little early. :)
Introducing our shiny new upgraded
Talent
and
Pet
Calculators! You'll notice a number of fancy new changes, but here are the ones we're most excited about:
Glyphs:
Our talent calculator now supports glyphs! Of special note: we used the glyph calculator for a while in beta and discovered that, while pretty, the normal glyph icons are frequently hard to identify at a glance—so we tweaked the glyphs to actually use the icon of the
modified spell
, rather than the glyph icon itself. Much easier to use!
Automatic Updating:
No more "link" button! The URL of the Talent and Pet Calculators now automatically updates whenever you add or remove a point—all you have to do is copy/paste the URL, and you're there!

Happy Chocolate-and-Egg-day everybody!
We have to suffer without our bunnies and eggies for a little longer this year, but at least we get them for more than a day!
For 2009, Noblegarden will be hitting the servers soonly after Patch 3.1 is released, and will last for a week! So we'll all have plenty of time to get our pretty dresses and tuxes.
